Wearing a mask is still advised since COVID-19 continues to spread. However, masks may also irritate the skin and cause mask acne, often known as "maskne", which is a type of acne mechanica caused by friction between the skin and clothing. Therefore, there is a need to develop an effective maskne cosmetic. In this study, we made the maskne cosmetics containing humulus lupulus extract and copper tripeptide-1 and investigated its stability and safety. To measure stability, a centrifugation test and heat-cool cycling were done, and changes in viscosity and pH were measured for 8 weeks. The Cumulative Irritation Test (CIT, WKIRB-202111-HR-096) was performed and positive reactions were determined by the ICDRG criteria. The results indicated that the samples were stable after centrifugation, temperature cycling, viscosity, and pH tests. In addition, cosmetic safety test results revealed that maskne cosmetics containing humulus lupulus extract and copper tripeptide-1 did not cause any skin responses. These findings indicate that prepared maskne cosmetics' stability and safety were comparable to those of currently available commercial cosmetics.

Outdoor design temperature is important for selecting proper capacity of heating and cooling systems of a building to implement indoor thermal comfort and save energy consumption. The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of South Korea outdoor design temperature according to the assigned period. When outdoor design temperature of 8 locations calculated with the latest weather data during 2008~2015 years using ASHRAE Bin method are compared to the standard temperature of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport which is widely used for designing South Korea air-conditioning system at present, the maximum temperature difference becomes $0.97^{\circ}C$ for cooling, and $1.94^{\circ}C$ for heating. Due to wide outdoor temperature variation, update of outdoor design temperature based on recent weather data is recommended.
The questionnaire survey for Apis cerana beekeepers and professionals on improved native bee hives was carried out and we compared the temperature, relative humidity(RH), and weight changes of 4 improved hives(Chungju, Miryang, Hanam, and Suwon) from May 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020. Beekeepers need vertical feeder, hive stand, entrance block, and separating panel as hive accessory devices. The average temperatures within brood area were kept constantly (31.3~35.1℃) and the low daily variances of temperature (≤1℃) in Chungju hive among tested hives were observed. The daily temperature variances in the separated space and on the top of winter cluster were not different among 4 hives. In correlation between the temperature of brood area and the number of combs, Chungju hive showed the highest correlation(80.4%) and between the temperature on top of winter clusters and outside temperature, 4 hives showed high positive correlation(76.8~87.1%). RH of brood area(45~60%) in all hives were kept relatively low and constant compared to the outside RH(60~85%). The stablest RH on the top of winter cluster was observed in Suwon hives (65~75%) The highest cumulative weight increase among hives and the high positive correlation(65~67%) between the change of cumulative hive weight and combs number of hives were shown in the Miryang and Chungju. Based on these results, A. cerana bees are able to manage constant temperature and RH within hives area for their colony life, which also effected by the types of hive.

Recently, in proportion to increased demand on environmentally-friendly heat source, efficient management of district heating(DH) system becomes one of important issue. The objectives of this paper are to systematize data processing of transition temperature, investigate the effect of temperature variations on thermal fatigue and find out a way to improve design fractures of Korean DH pipes. For this purpose, reliable fatigue lift evaluation procedures are examined and applied to quantify thermal fatigue lives. Also, as a prototypal optimization analysis results, mean value of original cross sectional area of selected pipes was reduced 18.6% sustaining their sufficient margins against fatigue failure. So, it is anticipated that the output of this research can be used as useful information of optimal design and operation in the future.
This study aimed at he experimental and finite element analytic investigation of the effect of preheating on he residual stress of weldment. In this study, an autogenous arc welding was used on type 304 stainless steel and MARC as F.E.M. common code was utilized in analysis The analyses include transient and moving heat source and thermal properties as function of temperature. During welding, the thermal cycles of four locations in the weldment were recorded to investigate of the behavior of thermal stress and residual stress. The experimental and analytic results had good coincidence and show that there are two factors influencing the formation of welding residual stress in preheat process. One is the elevation of welding equilibrium temperature and the other is the increase of amount of heat input. The former decrease welding residual stress and the latter increase welding residual stress. Therefore, the cumulative effects result in the welding residual stress not being improved significantly with preheating in 304 stainless steel.
Korean red ginseng tails was extracted with solutions having various ethanol concentration at the temperature range of 70-100 $^{\circ}C$. Extraction was carried out for 1-5 times of 8 hours at given temperature. The results obtained on physicochemical properties of yields, saponins, sugars, minerals, color and viscosity were analyzed statistically to find the correlation with extracting conditions. A very high positive correlation was found between extraction time and cumulative values of yields of chemical components. Increase in ethanol concentration affected negatively on viscosity, absorbencies and yields of soluble solids and minerals. Some of the properties also showed a high correlation with temperature increase. Equations were also derived from the significant results on correlation analysis.
In this part, thermal finite element analysis(FEA) is conducted for the experiments in part 1. The molten area of base metals are analyzed by FEA results and compared with experimental ones. Temperature data from FEA results are used to calculate the IMC layer thickness analytically at the interface. IMC layer is established as a function of time and temperature when there is an interaction between solid steel and molten aluminum. The IMC layer thickness is obtained by cumulative computations using the time-temperature data from FEA results.
Scuticociliates Miamiensis avidus (syn. Philasterides dicentrarchi) causes high mortality and bad growth in olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. Temperature is an important factor not only for growth of pathogens but also for host immune system in poikilothermal animal. In this study, temperature affecting ciliate growth and pathogenicity against olive flounder were examined. Doubling time for the ciliate growth was 61.82 hours at $5{^{\circ}C}$, 26.32 hours at $10{^{\circ}C}$, 21.14 hours at $15{^{\circ}C}$, 16.86 hours $20{^{\circ}C}$ and 16.21 hours at $25{^{\circ}C}$. Maximum ciliate numbers were similar at $10-20{^{\circ}C}$ at the range of $1.54-1.75{\times}10^{5}$/ ml. Duplicated intraperitoneal injections were conducted with the ciliates by the concentrations of $1{\times}10^{2}$, $1{\times}10^{6}$, $1{\times}10^{4}$and $1{\times}10^{5}$/ fish (average 8.34 cm, 4.33 g) then kept at $10{^{\circ}C}$, $15{^{\circ}C}$ and $20{^{\circ}C}$. Cumulative mortality was low at $10{^{\circ}C}$ and the mortality was increasing at higher water temperatures. In addition, cumulative mortality was higher at higher dose of infections. In conclusion, Scuticocilite M. avidus grew well at higher temperature (at $5{^{\circ}C}$, $10{^{\circ}C}$, $15{^{\circ}C}$ and $25{^{\circ}C}$) in vitro, and olive flounder mortality due to M. avidus was highly water temperature and dose dependent. The results of this study suggest that water temperature control may one of the essential factor to reduce mortality due to M. avidus infection.
Yearly mean temperature and relative-humidity of the Seokguram Grotto was measured $19~23^{\circ}C$, 40~44% from May, 1998 to December,2002. The measurement has little differences comparing to the optimum guideline (temperature : $20^{\circ}\pm2^{\circ}C$, relative-humidity : $50^{\circ}\pm5%$). It is necessary to increase humidity in the Seokguram Grotto during winter because of heating and decrease the temperature during summer because of a higher temperature of outside. In addition, the diurnal range keep in $4^{\circ}C$ of temperature and in 10% of relative-humidity. Yearly mean concentration of $CO_2$(carbon dioxide) was measured538~658ppm that is higher than concentration of normal atmosphere(360 ppm). The $CO_2$ has an cumulative effect on the surface of stone cultural properties as a form of carbonic acid($H_2CO_3$) after reaction with water. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system should be operated to maintain ideal state for the preservation according to the optimum guideline. Also, the entrance into the Seokguram Grotto should be controlled to prevent a sudden fluctuation of humidity and temperature. Human could carry small particles like a microdust, microbe, etc., into the Seokguram Grotto and also could damage the surface by a direct touch.
