Materials and Methods: A quantitative study was designed and conducted from June to August 2012 in Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Data were collected through direct face to face interviews. from one hundred and twenty five nurses. Results: Knowledge of HPV infection and HPV vaccine was almost universal among the school nurses (97%). The majority of the participants (71%) thought that the HPV vaccine was good. Cultural unacceptability (45%) and lack of women's concern about their own health (21%) were rated as the top barriers for the successful introduction of the vaccine in the UAE. More than half of the sampled nurses (58%) have either given this vaccine to school girls or taken it themselves. The majority (95%) did not come across any side effects from the vaccine. The level of qualification and the place of work did not significantly affect the correct knowledge of HPV infection or cervical cancer prevention methods. Conclusions: The knowledge and attitude of the sampled school nurses in Abu Dhabi State about HPV infection and vaccine is very good in both the public and private sectors. However, a knowledge gap in cervical cancer screening methods was identified.

  • Under the situation that the seismic vulnerability are a worsening problem in many world's megacities, the disaster preparedness including earthquake hazards is a matter of primary concern in the capital city of Korea, Seoul. Especially, because it is hard to move or dismantle the architectural heritages, the mitigation of earthquake damages is potentially more difficult than other structures. Moreover, in order to decide the proper preparedness plan against future earthquakes, it is very important to understand how soils pass the seismic waves to architectural heritages. In this paper, therefore, the ground condition and depth of bedrock was investigated by the MASW-method at heritages located in Seoul. Then one-dimensional seismic response analysis was conducted based on the distribution of shear wave velocity. As the major result of analyses, peak acceleration, site amplification factor and natural period are proposed in each site for recurrence period.

  • This study considered the transition of changes in social status of the film through the discourse analysis of printed media, having been published since 6th revised film policy in 1987. For the purpose, Pierre Bourdieu's cultural sociology, or 'Field theory approach' was engaged as a theoretical background. On the basis of that theory, changes in social status was divided into expert and popular field. From 1988 to 2007, doctor's and master's theses on filmologie and the representative academic journal, "Film Studies" were examined with regard to area of expertise, and movie-related books with regard to popular one. This study demonstrated that the symbolic capital had inhered in the cinematic field along with specialization and diversification of analytic aspects, and the relation between the academic approach and political consideration had performed an important role in intellectualization of film.

  • The final purpose of this study is to explore morphological change of Shenyang in the period of the rising Chung Dynasty. For that purpose we have tried to build the historical GIS DB of site and analysis of the structure and shape pattern of the city by using the functions of GIS. From the view of spatial structure and cultural context, main characteristics, which is derived from the analysis of ancient map of Shenyang, can be summarized into five things as follows ; transformation of open spatial structure into closed structure, combination of horizontal spatial structure with vertical structure, transformation of practical spatial structure into symbolic structure, transformation of natural spatial structure into institutional form of ancient Chinese capital city, conservation of traditional Manchurian culture.

  • This paper examined the changes of urban system through the network and the flow pattern reflected in daily movement in Korea. Because daily movement reflects trip pattern, urban system formed by inter-city linkages can be recognized in terms of living sphere. While population movements between cities have the number of linkage systems of city network and the number of traffic regions composed of the origin and destination has increased respectively. Nevertheless, spatial extent of Capital region and Busan region has been expanded. In Gangwon-do in which Seoul-oriented high-speed transportation network has developed, separation of living sphere between Yeongdong area and the Soyanggang cultural region formed around Chuncheon was intensified. Living sphere that includes Daejeon and the surrounding cities has been expanded to the southern Gyeonggi-do. The existing living sphere formed in Jeollanam-do was fragmented into the east and west around Mokpo and Suncheon due to the weakened centrality of Gwangju. Living spheres formed by spatial interaction were consistent with regional administrative boundary. Considering the increased interaction between Seoul and its surrounding cities, the development of global city-region centered on Seoul is expected.

Nonetheless. the present Information Infrastructure In Korea loaves a lot to be Improved In order to realize the vision of Information society. The establishment of the KII (korea Information Infrastructure) does not merely mean the construction of physical network that enables the transmission of various modes of information such as voice, data, and image. It further implies the creation of a new kind of social overhead capital, ranging from the establishment of social and cultural which are conductive to seamless flow of information. For the successful implementation of the KII, it is critical to build the public consensus on the importance and necessity of informatization. • The main objective of this paper is to examine the applicability of Linan and Chen's entrepreneurial intention model (EIM) in predicting the entrepreneurial intention. EIM is an adaptation of the Theory of Planned Behavior that focuses on entrepreneurial intention and hypothesizing slightly different patterns of relationship with regards to subjective norms. The model also includes human capital and demographic factors. Snowball sampling method was used to collect data using the entrepreneurial intention questionnaire (EIQ) through several social media platforms. The survey indicates that the overall entrepreneurial intention of Saudi students is high (mean = 5.41). Eight out of the seventeen hypothesized relationships were found to be significant. Among the demographic variables, gender-personal attitude was significant whereas self employment experience and years of business education were found to be significantly related with perceived behavioral control. The statistical analysis using partial least square structural equation modelling validated the model. All the three antecedents of entrepreneurial intention were significantly related with entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study will help policy makers to get deep understanding into the phenomenon of entrepreneurship among Saudi university students and thereby develop a conducive environment. This study also validates the entrepreneurial intention model in a different cultural context.

  • The focus of design in the contemporary point of view has changed from the improvement in production efficiency for profitability and in styling for sales promotion to human-oriented design. Human-centered design has developed into design which includes social and ethical responsibility and values. With tradition and culture as a base the principles of markets and capital are incorporated as well. Such current design is the outcome of design which honors social values represented based on culture acquired from individuals and society and the the responsibility of the designer who provides it. For the realization of social values in design, it should be considered along with the influence of design on society, this study presented the following cases: First, human-oriented design for those who are isolated, but should not be ignored; Second, cultural-oriented design which makes a contribution to local conditions; and third, usability-oriented design which replaces familiar ideas with new paradigms. This study presented the function and meaning of design in terms of purpose and the methods to solve social and human problems using design. Further studies should deal with the realization and extension of social values through design.
