텃밭가꾸기 체험활동이 유아의 탐구능력과 식생활 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Experience Activities for Kitchen Garden Cultivation on Children's Inquiry Skills and Dietary Attitudes)

  • 본 연구는 텃밭가꾸기 체험활동이 유아의 탐구능력과 식생활 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 목적을 갖고, 대전광역시에 위치한 어린이집 만 4-5세반 원아를 대상으로 실험집단 35명(남 20명, 여 15명)과 통제집단 20명(남 8명, 여 12명)의 총 43명을 대상으로 실험조사 하였다. 연구결과 텃밭가꾸기 체험활동이 유아의 탐구능력과 식생활 태도 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이같은 결과는 유아들의 텃밭가꾸기 체험활동이 유아의 탐구능력과 식생활 태도 개선에 유용한 활동임을 입증해준 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 그동안 유아들의 식생활 태도 개선을 가정의 책임으로 간주하는 인식과 왜곡된 식습관 및 태도개선에 텃밭가꾸기와 같은 자연주제를 활용한 체험활동과 관찰참여의 탐구학습을 적극 권장할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 이는 유아들의 탐구학습을 통해 높은 교육효과를 기대할 수 있다는 측면에서 학제적 교육적 측면에서의 유용성을 시사한 것으로 볼 수 있다.

  • Shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) is usually cultivated on the oak log. Log cultivation of this mushroom is getting difficult to get oak logs and has a weak point of its long cultivation period. Recently sawdust cultivation is getting increase. It is important to make mycelia browning on the substrate surface. This browned surface in sawdust cultivation plays an important role like as artificial bark of the oak log, which protects the other pests and suppresses water evaporation in the substrate. The period for mycelia browning is so long that the sawdust cultivation of Shiitake mushroom can not spread well into the mushroom farms. The development of methods for the rapid mycelia browning is quite required. In this article we would like to discuss about the enzymatic activities related mycelia browning and search the methods of cultivation period reduction.

TIME SERIES ANALYSIS OF SPOT NDVI FOR IDENTIFYING IRRIGATION ACTIVITIES AT RICE CULTIVATION AREA IN SUPHANBURI PROVINCE, THAILAND

  • In this paper, the real scenario of water situation (e.g. water management, water availability and flooding) in an irrigated rice cultivation area in Suphanburi Province, Central-West Thailand is discussed together with the NDVI time series data. The result shown is derived by our classifier named 'Peak Detector Algorithm (PDA)'. The method discriminated 5 classes in terms of irrigation activities and cropping intensities, namely, Non-irrigated, Poorly irrigated - 1 crop/year, Irrigated - 2 crops/year, Irrigated - 3 crops/year and Others (no cultivation happens in a year or other land covers). The overall accuracy of all classified results (1999-2001) is around $77\%$ against independent ground truth data (general activities or function of an area). In the classified results, spatial and temporal inconsistency appeared significantly in the Western and Southern areas of Suphanburi. The inconsistency resulted mainly by anomaly of rainfall pattern in 1999 and their temporal irrigation activity. The algorithm however, was proved that it could detect actual change of irrigation status in a year.

Community Gardening Activities and Their Effects on Mental Health of Residents

  • This study was conducted to find out the effects of plant cultivation activities in the village gardening program hosted by Gyeonggi-do on the psychology and physiology of participants. This study conducted a survey on 20 villagers aged 57.70±9.23 on average and collected their saliva before Session 1 and after the final Session 10. The experiment was conducted by carrying out the village gardening program once a week for total 10 weeks. Psychological assessment was conducted by measuring the level of plant cultivation experience, four elements (repose, fascination, coherence, legibility) of the Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS) and stress levels, and also conducting the Wilcoxon paired signed ranks test. As the result of comparatively analyzing the saliva collected before and after the program, the total cortisol level, which is a stress hormone, decreased with statistical significance after the program (t=14.521, p<.001). The level of plant cultivation activities increased with statistical significance after the program, and the PRS increased with statistical significance in the three elements of repose, fascination and legibility excluding coherence. In addition, as the result of examining the change in the stress level of participants with the sum of all item scores, it was found that the stress level decreased with statistical significance (p<.05) from 17.65 points to 15.30 points after the program. Hence, plant cultivation activities in the village community have positive effects such as attention restoration or stress relief. In addition, the activities can also contribute to mental connection and healthcare of residents.

발아일수에 따른 해바라기 싹의 이화학적 특성 및 항산화성 비교 (Comparison of Physicochemical Properties and Antioxidative Activities of Sunflower Sprout According to Germination Day)

  • It is well known that sunflower (SF) sprout has more beneficial effects than SF seed due to increased levels of phytochemical components such as vitamins, total phenolics, and isoflavones during germination. This study investigated the physicochemical properties and antioxidative activities of SF seed during both germination and cultivation. In a proximate analysis, the water content of SF groat was 9.17% and then increased to 15.32% on the 11th day after seeding. On a dry weight basis, crude fat content decreased while the contents of carbohydrates, crude protein, and crude ash increased. As cultivation proceeded, the contents of minerals were in decreasing order of K, Mg, Ca, Na, Zn, Fe, Mn, and Cu, in which SF sprout cultivated for 9 or 11 days contained the highest mineral contents. Though vitamin C was not detected on SF groat, the content of vitamin C continuously increased up to the 5th day of cultivation and then decreased gradually. Vitamin E content in SF groat was higher than that in SF sprout. It was also found that the vitamin E content in SF sprout was the highest on the 5th day of cultivation. Daidzin was not detected in SF groat, but its concentration reached a maximum on the 5th day of cultivation in SF sprouts. Furthermore, higher amounts of daidzein were observed on the 3rd, 5th, and 9th days of cultivation. The highest total isoflavone content was observed on either the 3rd or 5th day of cultivation. The highest content of total phenolics was observed on the 5th of cultivation. When DPPH radical and peroxyl radical scavenging activities of SF sprout were measured in order to measure antioxidant efficacy, it was found that 5 day-cultivated SF sprout had the highest scavenging activities. In conclusion, SF sprout cultivated for 9 or 11 days was found to be a good source of minerals. Furthermore, the fifth-day after seeding was the optimal time for the production of SF sprout with effective natural antioxidant activity and high amounts of functional components such as vitamins, total phenolics, and isoflavones.

곰취 '쌈마니' 품종의 재배지역 및 수확기별 항산화 활성 비교 (Comparative Study of Antioxidant Activities at Different Cultivation Area and Harvest Date of the Gomchwi 'Sammany' Variety)

  • 본 연구는 곰취 신품종 '쌈마니' 의 고랭지와 평난지 수확기 및 가공 상태에 따른 항산화 활성 차이를 구명하고자 수행 하였다. 4월 18일부터 7월 15일까지 수확하여 생것과 데친 것을 냉동 건조한 후 메탄올에 추출하여 총페놀 함량, 총플라보노이드 함량, DPPH free radical 소거능과 환원력을 분석하였다. 재배지역 및 수확기별 총페놀 함량, 총플라보노이드 함량, DPPH free radical 소거능과 환원력은 평난지에서는 4월 18일 조기 수확보다는 5월 수확이 더 효과적이었으며, 고랭지에서는 5월보다는 6월에 더 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 재배지역, 수확기 및 가공상태별 총 페놀 함량, 총 플라보노이드 함량, DPPH free radical 소거능과 환원력은 평난지에서는 4월 조기 수확보다는 5월부터 더 효과적이었으며, 고랭지에서는 6월부터 항산화 활성이 높게 나타났다. 생체와 데친 것을 비교하였을 때, 생체가 모든 항목에서 더 높은 항산화 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 평난지재배보다 고랭지 재배가 더 높은 항산화 활성을 나타냈다. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, '쌈마니' 품종은 평난지에서는 5월, 고랭지에서는 6월에 수확하여 생으로 먹는 것이 데쳐서 먹는 것보다 항산화 활성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다.

초생재배가 감귤원 토양의 물리성과 미생물 활성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Different Soil Managements on Physical Properties and Microbial Activities in Citrus Orchard Soil)

  • 화산회토 감귤원에서 제초제를 사용하는 청경재배, 자연초종을 이용하는 자연초생재배, 켄터키블루그라스를 이용하는 인위초생재배를 4년간 동일한 방법으로 토양 및 시비관리를 하면서 토양의 물리성과 미생물체량, 토양인산효소 활성을 분석하였다. 자연초생재배가 청경재배보다 입단계수(>0.5 mm)는 26.7% 높았고 토양경도는 11.8 mm 낮았다. 토양의 용적밀도와 공극율은 차이가 없었다. 초생재배가 청경재배보다 인산효소 활성이 높았으며 토양 미생물체량은 인위초생재배가 $525.4mg\;kg^{-1}$로 청경재배보다 2배 이상 높았다. 결론적으로 초생재배는 입단형성이 잘되고 토양 경도가 개선되는 효과가 있었으며 토양 미생물활성이 높았다. 비화산회토 감귤농가 중 5년 이상 된 제초제를 이용하는 관행재배, 자연 초생재배 저농약, 유기농 인증 재배 감귤원 5개를 선정하여 감귤나무의 개화기인 5월에 토양을 채취 후 인지질 지방산과 토양인산효소 활성, 미생물체량을 분석하였다. 인지질지방산함량은 유기재배 감귤원이 $112.2n\;mol\;g^{-1}$로 관행재배보다 2배 이상 많았다. 인지질 지방산의 미생물지표에 따른 유기재배토양의 그램 음성세균은 15.1%, 방선균은 6.6%로 관행재배토양 보다 높았다. 유기재배 감귤원이 관행재배보다 토양 미생물체량은1.5배 정도 많았고 토양인산효소 활성은 17.6% 높았다.

고랭지 농업에서 알팔파 재배가 토양유실 및 옥수수 생산에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Alfalfa Cultivation on Soil Erosion and Maize Production in Highland Agriculture)

  • Soil conservation management is necessary for sustainable agriculture, in highland areas, and cover crops are one of the best soil conservation methods for slopes. In this study, we evaluated the effects of alfalfa cultivation on maize production, as well as soil conservation and quality. There was an outstanding soil conservation effect with alfalfa cultivation in the fallow and maize growing seasons. In particular, alfalfa cultivation reduced soil loss by up to 98% compared with bare field. It also increased the activities of soil microorganisms and the supply of organic matter. Maize production with alfalfa cultivation showed no significant differences in yield. In conclusion, alfalfa is an advantageous perennial cover crop in highland agricultural slope areas, which can have positive effects on soil quality and conservation, as well as maize production.

The analysis of value chains for the chestnut industry in Chungcheongnam-do

  • The aim of this study was to enhance the value of the chestnut industry by analyzing the value chain structure. Based on the value chain theory, it is divided into primary activities and support activities. Thus, in total, 27 subjects from Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang were interviewed and self-administered questionnaire. Regarding the value chain structure of the chestnut industry, the primary activities consisted of production followed by cultivation and storing, sorting and packaging, transportation and marketing sales. The support activities were divided into production infrastructure, policy, R&D, and systematization. The primary activities are able to maximize profits through cost reductions. The production was divided into general and environmentally friendly cultivation. Depending on the labor force, it is family-centered labor. However, the installation of harvest nets depends on a hired labor force (40 - 60%) such that it would be necessary to have a mechanized harvest to replace the manpower for the cost reduction. Transportation, marketing sales, and backdoor selling (38.1%) were higher than the existing channels (31.0%) using the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. The enhancement of value could be created by maximizing profits through the reinforcement of the links between each subject. The production showed strong connections with cultivation/storing, sorting/packing, and backdoor selling and the National Forestry Cooperative Federation. The processing stage is a very simple structure, it would be necessary to have R&D and to support promotions, infrastructure, machines, and sales increases, which should be expanded by connections with other industries like the food industry.

콩 재배가 토양 미생물 군집 활성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Soybean Cultivation on Soil Microorganism Activity)

  • 저투입생산환경에서 콩 재배가 토양미생물군집활성도에 미치는 영향에 대한 결과는 다음과 같다. 초기 비료 및 퇴비 투입 후 유기물은 재배기간 내내 콩을 재배한 화분이 감자를 재배한 화분보다 높게 나타났으며, 토양 중 인산은 콩을 재배한 토양에 비해 감자를 재배한 토양에서 다소 높은 경향을 보였다. DHA 값은 콩을 재배한 토양이 생육기간 전반에 걸쳐 감자를 재배한 토양보다 유의하게 높게 나타나 토양미생물 활성도가 콩을 재배한 토양에서 증가됨을 알 수 있었고, 이러한 결과는 콩을 재배한 토양의 유기물함량 증가에도 영향을 미친것으로 판단된다. DGGE로 토양미생물군집을 분석한 결과 Proteobacteria 문(phylum)에 속하는 미생물들이 공통적으로 확인되었으며, 감자를 재배한 토양이 콩을 재배한 토양보다 다양한 미생물이 동정되었다. 또한, 콩 재배 토양의 높은 토양미생물활성도는 콩 재배 시 형성되는 소수의 특정한 미생물들에 의한 영향으로 판단된다.
