PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of balance rehabilitation training with the visual cue deprivation on gait function in stroke patients in comparison with balance training without the visual cue deprivation. METHODS: Twenty two stroke patients participated in this study. Patients were randomly assigned to one of the two balance training program with and without the visual cue deprivation. Balance training session for each group lasted 50 minutes, 3 times a week for a total of 6 weeks. Gait function was measured with the Functional Gait Assessment (FGA), the self-selective comfortable gait speed (CGS), the maximal gait speed (MGS), and the Gait Analysis System. Temporal and spatial gait parameters of each evaluation were measured before and after the balance training program respectively. RESULTS: After the program, the visual cue deprivation group improved significantly in the FGA, the CGS, the gait velocity, the step time, the step length, the stride length, and the Functional Ambulation Performance (FAP) in comparison with the balance training group with the visual cue (p<.05). CONCLUSION: The gait function of the participants with the visual cue deprivation showed more improvement after the balance training program compared to the patients group without the visual cue deprivation, Therefore, the balance training program with the visual cue deprivation may be useful for rehabilitation of patients with chronic stroke.

PURPOSE: The study was designed to investigate the effects of visual, auditory, and visuoauditory cues on simple Serial Task Performance in heaithy adults. METHODS: Sixty-three right-handed heaithy adults without history of neurological dysfunction were participated. A modified version of the Serial Reaction Time Task (SRTT) using five blocks of perceptual motor sequences was administered. The blocked paradigm consisted of the five blocks with randomly repeated 8 digit sequences with 5 repetition. Three types of sensory cue were employed: visual cue, auditory cue and visuoauditory cue. All subjects were assigned to press the matched botton as quickly and accurately as possible, when one of 8 stimulations was presented(one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight). The reaction time, accuracy, and P300 latency were measured during serial task performance. The mean reaction time(ms), accuracy(%), and P300 latency(ms) were compared between three types of cue using ANOVA. RESULTS: The reaction time to auditory cue was significantly longer than visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.001). And accuracy to auditory cue was significantly lower than visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.001). All P300 latency(at Fz, Cz, Pz) were significantly longer than to visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.05). CONCLUSION: It is suggested that type of cues influence in choice reaction. These data may helpful in designing not only effective motor learning training programs for healthy persons but also reeducation programs for patients with neurological dysfunction.
Individuals often receive smishing campaigns (mobile phishing messages), which they treat as spam. Thus, firms should understand how their customers distinguish their promotion messages from smishing. However, only a few studies examined this important issue. The present study employs the elaboration likelihood model to develop research hypotheses on the relationship between message cue and message credibility. The message cue in this study is classified as content cue, which is found in the content of promotion messages, and as leakage cue, which is found in peripheral information in the message. Leakage cue includes orthography (inclusion of special characters)and an abbreviated link sent by a faithless sender. We also propose that contextualization has a moderating effect on the relationship between content cue and credibility. We conducted a survey experiment to examine the effect of message cues on message credibility in the context of respondents receiving discount coupons through mobile messages. The result of data analysis based on 166 responses suggests that leakage cue had a negative effect on message credibility. A message with defective content cue has a marginally negative effect on message credibility. In particular, defective content cue in a high-contextual message has a strong negative impact on message credibility. This effect was not observed in low-contextual messages. Moreover, message credibility is significantly low regardless of the degree of contextualization if there is a leakage cue in the message. Our findings suggest that mobile promotion messages should be customized for message receivers and should have no leakage cues.
Purpose: The ultimate purpose of this work is to investigate gender differences in the relationships between product quality cues and perceived values at a food select shop. Specifically, this study examines the effects of internal and external cues, which are indicators of product quality, on emotional and social values based on gender differences. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, a questionnaire technique was used to collect the data necessary to test the proposed model. 183 data were collected through this technique. PLS SEM (Partial Least Squares Structured Equation Model) was used to test the research model. Results: First, there is no gender difference between intrinsic cue and emotional value. When using male and female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cues and emotional values. Second, we found no gender difference between intrinsic cue and social value. When analyzed with female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cue and social value. On the other hand, in the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists. Third, this study found gender difference between extrinsic cue and emotional value. In the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists, whereas in the case of women, a strong causal relationship exists between extrinsic cue and emotional value. Fourth, we found gender difference between extrinsic cue and social value. In the case of men, there was no causal relationship, whereas in the case of women, there was a strong causal relationship between extrinsic cue and social value. Finally, we found that there are moderating roles of gender in the relationship between external cues and perceived quality. Conclusions: As a result of analysis, it is necessary to focus on extrinsic clues of product in order to increase the perceived emotional and social values of women. On the other hand, in order to improve the perceived emotional and social values of men, it is necessary to pay attention to both intrinsic and extrinsic cues of product. Therefore, it is necessary to consider what clues and values are important to core customers.

Evaluation on jean products were varied although they were the identical jeans. Therefore, we could confirm the bias by price. brand, and store when consumer evaluating jean products. The various consumer characteristics also provided effects evaluation on jean products. An evaluation on jean products is very subjective and the degrees depending on these three cues could be varied by consumer's characteristics. For empirical study, experiments by the subjects among students of ewha womans university were done by using jeans as stimulus. Data was collected by a questionnaire made up by a researcher based on the theoretical and pretest. Data was analyzed by ANOVA, factor analysis, grouping analysis, F-test, and etc. 571 data were analysed out of the 600 data. Cues such as price, brand, and store affected significantly the evaluation of jeans. The most important cue of all three was store, then price, and then brand. These three cues affected the evaluation of jean products separately and together. The result of the study was that the consumers characteristics mediated the effects of extrinsic cues like price, brand, and store on jean products evaluation. Consumer's characteristics like prior knowledge and shopping orientation mediated the effects of price, and store cue on jean products evaluation.
This research examines the characteristic trends through analysis on cue in the contemporary fashion distinctly and systematically. It is carried out by both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. In the qualitative analysis, the four important street fashions of neo-mods/jazz, neo-hippie/grunge, sportivecasual and technos/cyber-punk are grouped. In the quantitative analysis, statistical data are sampled from Collection II of the 1990s S/S. It takes frequency, percentage, $\chi^2$-test and etc. by using the comprehensive tools for statistical treatment. There were significant differences between the S/S fashion. According to the cues, there are also significant differences between the fashion in the 1990s. In 'Neo-Mos/Jazz' style shows highly androgynous look, deep and strong tone, green/blue colors, natural fabric, stripe pattern, long hair style, and hided make-up. 'Neo-hippie/gnenge' style shows highly folklore look, vivid tone purple colors, seethrough/knit fabric, natural /traditional pattern, decorative hair special makeup. 'Sportive casuals' style shows highly sportive look, greish tone, white/grey colours, natural fabric, solid patten, bobbed hair, and natural make-up. 'Techno/cyber punk style shows highly comocorps look, pale tone black colors avangard fabric, solid patten, punk/dyed hair special make-up.
Trust is one of the most important aspects of the relationship between retailers and consumers in e-commerce. Users may have concerns about transaction security or personal information leakage when they engage in transactions over the Internet. It can be difficult to attract customers if the retailers or service providers cannot establish trust with their customers. There have been many studies of trust-building mechanisms between customers and e-storefronts. However, little work has been done on identifying the relationships between customer satisfaction, purchase intention, and trust. In addition, trust building occurs in the pre- and post-purchase phases of an e-commerce transaction, as well as gradually over repeated transactions. Thus we distinguish between cue-based trust and experience-based trust. The objective of this study was to explain the impact of trust on customer satisfaction and purchase intention in relation to e-commerce sites from the perspective of a multi-dimensional concept of trust. We surveyed 350 undergraduate students and obtained 331 responses for analysis. The result of our analysis showed that cue-based trust has a positive relationship with trust based on experience. Although the two concepts of trust have positive relationships with satisfaction, the path coefficient of trust based on experience was higher than that of cue-based trust. In addition, the purchase intention mediates the relationship between cue-based trust and experience-based trust.
Purpose: As consumers have difficulty in brand choice due to excessive information, using brand popularity as an advertising cue (e.g., Sales No. 1, Hit Product) has been getting more attention as an effective curation strategy for decreasing consumers' cognitive efforts. Accordingly, recent studies empirically demonstrate that consumers tend to prefer and choose a brand with a popularity cue and offer a useful information regarding how to use a popularity cue in marketing communication. However, extant research has mainly focused on investigating the impact of "brand popularity in a domestic market" on consumer behaviors. Thus, little is known about the effect of "brand popularity in a foreign market" on local consumers' decision-making process. Given that domestic consumers tend to purchase imported products from overseas countries, it can be meaningful information for global companies. Therefore, this research derives and tests the five hypotheses to examine how local consumers respond to brand popularity in a foreign market as an advertising cue. Specifically, it tests the three hypotheses regarding the direct and indirect effects of brand popularity in a foreign market on risk perception and purchase intention. Then, it tests two additional hypotheses about moderating effects of psychic distance on the relationship between brand popularity and risk perception as well as on the relationship between brand popularity and purchase intention. Seventy participants are exposed to an advertisement for an Indian cosmetic brand using a popularity cue in Indian market and answer the questions about brand evaluation. For data analysis, regression analysis is employed. The findings of this research show that perceived brand popularity lowers local consumers' perceived risk with a foreign brand. However, perceived brand popularity does not have a direct impact on purchase intention while it has an indirect effect through perceived risk. Meanwhile, psychic distance moderates the effect of perceived brand popularity on perceived risk level, but it has no impact on the relationship between brand popularity and purchase intention. This research is one of the first studies that demonstrate the positive impact of brand popularity in a foreign market on a local consumer's purchase decision, and it shows the effect can be moderated by psychic distance.

■ Objectives The goal of this pilot study is to observe the change of stroke gait by auditory cue training. ■ Methods An intracranial hemorrhage patient was trained for 4 weeks. For the 1st consecutive 6days(the 1st week), the patient was trained to walk with auditory cue, what was called auditory cue gait training condition. For the 2nd consecutive 6days(the 2nd week), the patient was trained to walk naturally without auditory cue, what was called free gait training condition. For the 3rd consecutive 6days(the 3rd week), the patient was trained to walk under auditory cue gait training condition. For the 4th consecutive 6days(the 4th week), the patient was trained to walk under free gait training condition. We analyzed the gait using a treadmill gait analysis system 3 hours after the 6th gait training. ■ Results Auditory cue gait training showed effects on gait parameters, which were increasing walking velocity, step length, stride length, decreasing cadence, step time and stride time. ■ Conclusion Auditory cue gait training improved gait parameters of a stroke patient.
Purpose - The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between cue utilization and perceived website quality and purchase intention for an online store. To achieve this, we suggest a conceptual model that examines the relationship among product introductions, online communications, online reviews, perceived quality, and online purchase intention. Research design, data, and methodology - This research utilizes SPSS 19.0 and AMOS17.0 to analyze the data. We used factor analysis to shape the structure of the original data and saved the information with multiple dimensions. We then deployed the AMOS software to analyze the model. We performed both factor analysis and structural equation analysis. Results - The findings of this study show that graphic and word descriptions, online chatting, and online reviews have a positive influence on perceived quality. Furthermore, perceived quality has a positive influence on purchase intention. Conclusions - First, detailed product information should be added to influence quality perception. Second, consumers expect a certain level of service while shopping. Simultaneously, online products reviews from consumers deserve attention as they can impact consumer purchase intention.
