선인장 Mammillaria goldii, M. theresae와 M. pseudopectinata의 생육, 개화 및 종자형성 특성 (Growth, Flowering, and Ripening Seed Characteristics of Mammillaria goldii, M. theresae, and M. pseudopectinata)

  • Mammillaria goldii, M. theresae와 M. pseudopectinala의 생장 특성 및 종자 번식 체계를 확립하기위하여 2년생 실생을 온실에 정식한 후 11개월에 생육 및 개화조사를 하고 시기별 자가 수분 및 형매 수정에 따른 착과율 및 협당 종자수를 조사하였다. Mammillaria goldii, M. theresae와 M. pseudopectinata의 식물체의 높이는 2.5~2.8 cm이고 식물체의 직경은 2.8~3.1 cm이었고, 부드럽고 작은 가시가 있었다. Mammillaria goldii와 M. theresae는 체내수정을 하고 M. pseudopectinala는 체외수정을 한다. Mammillaria goldii의 화색은 진분홍이고 M. theresae는 분홍색, M. pseudopectinala는 분홍색이었고, 화경은 5.0~6.2 cm 정도 되었다. 개화 시기는 4월에서 6월이었고, 5월의 개화수는 5개 정도이고 개화기간은 3일정도 되었다. Mammillaria goldii의 착과율은 50.0%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 25.3개이고, M. theresae는 57.3%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 35.0개이고, M. pseudopectinala는 69.0%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 62.0개이다. 시기별로는 5월의 결실율 및 꼬투리당 종자수가 기장 많고, 다음에는 6월과 4월이 많았다. 특히 M. pseudopectinala의 5월의 착과율은 75%로 가장 높았고 꼬투리당 종자수도 68개로 기장 많았다. M. goldii의 자가 수정의 착과율은 16%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 13개이고, 형매수정의 착과율은 58%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 30개이었다. M. pseudopeclinala의 자가 수정의 착과율은 20%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 18개이고, 형매 수정의 착과율은 75%, 꼬투리당 종자수는 68개이었다. 이와 같이 Mammillaria 속 선인장을 5월에 형매 교배를 하면 결실율이 높고 많은 종자를 얻을 수 있다.

파랑 통계자료의 특성과 신뢰성 검토 (The Characteristics of Wave Statistical Data and Quality Assurance)

  • This paper discusses the influence on long-tenn predictions of the ship response in ocean by using the Global Wave Statistics data, GWS, and wave information from the remote sensing satellites. GWS's standard scatter diagrams of significant wave height and zero-crossing wave period are suggested to be corrected to a round number of 0.01/1000 fitted with a statistical analytic model of the conditional lognormal distribution for zero-crossing wave period. The GEOSAT satellite data are utilized which presented by I. R. Young and G. J. Holland (1996, named as GEOSAT data). At first, qualities of this data are investigated, and statistical characteristic trends are studied by means of applying known probability distribution functions. The wave height data of GEOSAT are compared to the data observed onboard merchant ships, the data observed by measure instrument installed on the ocean-going container ship and so on. To execute a long-tenn prediction of ship response, joint probability functions between wave height and wave period are introduced, therefore long-term statistical predictions are executed by using the functions.

Designing TBMs for subsea tunnels

  • Recent years have shown great advances in the feasibility of long subsea tunnels. Projects such as the Channel Tunnel, the Stoerebelt Tunnel or the Bosporus Crossing have pushed the boundaries of TBM tunneling technology and fueled the work on feasibility studies for even more challenging projects such as crossing the Qiongzhou or Gibraltar Straits. There are numerous geotechnical challenges such as wide variations of ground conditions, high operation pressures or long tunnel distances and finally geological uncertainties which must be solved in order to attempt such projects. Several operational challenges such as large muck quantities interventions under difficult conditions and long transport distances also have to be tackled. TBM manufacturer and construction industry have developed a number of approaches to these challenges which point into the right technical direction and have been proven successfully in recent experiences. Their further development will allow attempting several megaprojects which are currently under discussion.

GEOMETRIC RESULT FOR THE ELLIPTIC PROBLEM WITH NONLINEARITY CROSSING THREE EIGENVALUES

  • We investigate the number of the solutions for the elliptic boundary value problem. We obtain a theorem which shows the existence of six weak solutions for the elliptic problem with jumping nonlinearity crossing three eigenvalues. We get this result by using the geometric mapping defined on the finite dimensional subspace. We use the contraction mapping principle to reduce the problem on the infinite dimensional space to that on the finite dimensional subspace. We construct a three dimensional subspace with three axis spanned by three eigenvalues and a mapping from the finite dimensional subspace to the one dimensional subspace.

한국어 연결 숫자음 인식을 위한 시공간 신경회로망의 개발 (Development of Spatio-Temporal Neural Network for Connected Korean Digits Recognition)

  • In this paper, a new approach for Korean connected digits recognition using the spatio-temporal neural network is reported. The data of seven digits phone numbers are used in the recognition of connected words, and in the initial experiment, digit recognition rate of 28% was achieved. In this paper, to increase recognition rate, two different approaches are analyzed. In the first system, to compensate the STNN's own defect and to emphasize the Korean word's phonic characters, the starting point of phone is pointed by comparing the average magnitude and zero-crossing rate and the ending point is pointed by comparing only zero-crossing rate. The digit recoginiton rate increased to 61%. Also, in the second system, to consider fact that same word's phone is varied severally, the number of STNN's of each word is increased from one to five, and then the varied same word's phones can be included to the increased STNN's. The digit recogniton rate of connected words increased to 89%.

편광기법을 이용한 수직교차평면의 PIV 속도장 동시측정 (Simultaneous Measurements of Velocity Fields at Two Vertically Crossing Planes by PIV Systems Using Polarization Technique)

  • A new PIV technique was developed for decreasing optical error which was created during simultaneous measurements of velocity fields at a wall-normal plane and wall-parallel plane by a plane PIV and a Stereo-PIV systems. For experimental study, two different Reynolds number based on momentum thickness, Re$_{ =514 and 934 were generated in a blowing type wind tunnel under the condition of zero pressure gradient. The two Nd:Yag laser systems and three CCD cameras were synchronized. to obtain instantaneous velocity fields at the same time. To avoid optical noise at the crossing line by the two laser light sheets, a new optical arrangement using polarization was applied. The obtained velocity fields show the existence of hairpin packet structure vividly and the idealized hairpin vortex signature is confirmed by experiment.

CENSORED FUZZY REGRESSION MODEL

  • Various methods have been studied to construct a fuzzy regression model in order to present a fuzzy relation between a dependent variable and an independent variable. However, in the fuzzy regression analysis the value of the center point of estimated fuzzy output may be either greater than the value of the right endpoint or smaller than the value of the left endpoint. In the case, we cannot predict the fuzzy output properly. This paper presents sufficient conditions to construct the fuzzy regression model using several methods investigated by some authors and then introduces the censored fuzzy regression model using the censored samples to manipulate the problem of crossing of the center and the end points of the estimated fuzzy number. Examples show that the censored fuzzy regression model is an extension of the fuzzy regression model and also it improves the problem of crossing.

Using GIS to Find the Best Safe Route between Khartoum and Arqin-Crossing

  • The paper aims to clarify how to make a decision using geographic information systems and how to choose the best route between two cities to suit the expectations of the driver and his sense of safety and comfort on the road. Use a special model for network analysis, where the network analysis tool relied on the following data (maximum speed of the road - number of intersections - road width - peak period) in choosing the best safe path. The paper concluded that the best safe route for refugees between the cities of Khartoum - Arqin crossing is ( Khartoum - Shendi - Atbara - Meroe - Abu Hamad - Wadi Halfa). We advise all GIS users to use the theories of spatial analysis when creating a new model.

중앙버스전용차로 횡단보도 보행 위반행태 분석: 고속버스터미널역 사례 분석 (Analysis on Pedestrian Crossing Illegal Behavior on Exclusive Median Bus Corridor: A Cace Study of Express Bus Terminal Station)

  • 중앙버스전용차로도 도입으로 인해 무단횡단이 증가하였고 보행 교통 사망자 수 증가의 문제가 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 이러한 중앙버스전용차로 횡단보도부 교통안전 수준 증진을 위해서는 공학적이고 분석적인 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 향후 보행안전시설 연구의 기반자료를 마련하기 위해 중앙버스전용차로 정류소 횡단보도부 보행자의 보행행태 자료를 분석한다. 중앙버스전용차로 형태 중 무단횡단이 가장 많이 관측되는 '분리형 횡단보도' 형태인 서울시 '고속버스터미널역'을 조사지점으로 선정하여 영상자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 보행자 자료를 공간적 측면과 시간적 측면에서 위반행태를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 공간적 위반 보행자는 37.8%로 시간적 위반 보행자 3.4%에 비해 11.1배 높게 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통해 시간적 위반 보행자에 편중된 안전시설이 아닌 무단횡단 보행자의 절대 다수에 해당하는 공간적 위반 보행자에 안전대책도 필요하며 향후 시 공간적 위반 보행자의 무단횡단을 함께 억제하는 안전시설이 필요함을 제언한다.

THE BASKET NUMBERS OF KNOTS

  • Plumbing surfaces of links were introduced to study the geometry of the complement of the links. A basket surface is one of these plumbing surfaces and it can be presented by two sequential presentations, the first sequence is the flat plumbing basket code found by Furihata, Hirasawa and Kobayashi and the second sequence presents the number of the full twists for each of annuli. The minimum number of plumbings to obtain a basket surface of a knot is defined to be the basket number of the given knot. In present article, we first find a classification theorem about the basket number of knots. We use these sequential presentations and the classification theorem to find the basket number of all prime knots whose crossing number is 7 or less except two knots $7_1$ and $7_5$.
