  • This study was to compare the recognition of future career and nurse's characteristics according to nursing school system. This study was based on cross sectional descriptive method. The data were analyzed by $x^2$-test, t-test, and ANOVA using PASW WIN 18.0 program. The data represented that students who were doing associated degrees or bachelor degrees, showed the similar level recognition of future career and nurse's characteristics. However they showed differences in recognition of the career where they could create and new things(t=2.933, p=.004) and working part time(t=2.328, p=.021). In regards to recognition of nurse's characteristics bachelor degrees students had higher professional ethics($4.59{\pm}.44$). This study proposed that these research results could be used for improving methodology of nursing education.

  • Road Design is being reached to the working design to produce drawings, calculate construction quantity and cost, through the basic design that contained feasibility study and all impact assessment. In general, to plan the route we use topographic map. The vertical positional accuracy is 30cm and horizontal positional accuracy is 35cm in 1:1,000 scale topographic map. In LiDAR, vertical positional accuracy is 15cm and horizontal positional accuracy is 30cm. So if we use LiDAR on road design, more accurate earth-volumn will be calculated when we plan the route. In this paper we try to find the method to use the LiDAR data on road design by drawing the profile and cross sectional view and comparing the earth-volumn to the road that working design is in process adopting the topographic map and LiDAR data.

  • Recently, the module-integrated converter has shown an interest in the photovoltaic generation system. In this system, the high frequency transformer should be compact and efficient. The proposed method is based on the correlation characteristic between the copper and core loss to minimize the loss of transformer. By sizing an effective cross-sectional area and window area of core, the amount of loss is minimized. This paper presents the design and analysis of high frequency transformer by using the 3D finite element model coupled with DC-DC converter circuit for more accurate analysis by considering the nonlinear voltage and current waveforms in converter circuit. The current waveform in each winding is realized by using the ideal DC voltage source and switching component. And, the thermal analysis is performed to satisfy the electrical and thermal design criteria.

  • Stability of a Bi-2223/Ag tape was studied by using a numerical model considering the temperature distribution of cross-sectional area. The dynamic evolution of normal zone of a HTS tape can be shown by the developed two-dimensional Program using finite difference method. Two kinds of analyses are compared to quantify the critical disturbance energy for quenching HTS tapes. One is the length-thickness(x-r) side and the other is the length-width(x-z) side. For each case. the governing energy balance equations and corresponding boundary conditions are formulated. The results of analyses shows that the critical disturbance energies for each cases seem to be very close for considered Bi-2223/Ag tape .

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the levels of depression experienced by Korean hospital nurses (N=198) and to identify discriminating factors of their depression experience among personal and environmental characteristics. Method: A cross-sectional survey design was used to answer the research questions. A sample consisted of 198 hospital nurses in Korea. The data were collected from May 1999 to March 2000. Descriptive and discriminant analyses were utilized. Result: Korean nurses experienced low levels of depression. Twenty nine percent of nurses in the study experienced depression based on the cut-point suggested by Radloff. Role ambiguity, working in the tertiary hospital, work satisfaction in autonomy, professional status and interaction within nurses were significant discriminating factors for nurses' depression. These factors correctly

  • Purpose: This study examined the health status among elderly in community. Method: This is a survey using cross-sectional design. The subjects were 531 elders who were 65 and over in Pusan, Korea. Data were collected by 17 trained interviewers from April 10 to August 26, 2000. Functional status for physical health status, depression, loneliness, self-esteem for psychological health status, and social support for social health status were measured. Result: About forty three percent of the subjects were found as the elderly who need support in physical status. About fifty six percent of the subjects were depressed. The mean score on the Loneliness scale was 40.4, which means relatively higher. For self-esteem, its score was lower than that of elderly who were examined in other studies. The subjects were living in the state of lower social support. The risk factors for vulnerable health status were being female, becoming older, lower income and education, and living alone. Conclusion: This finding indicates that the elderly subjects in Korean community were in poor health status in physical, psychological and social aspects.

  • One of major errors in flow rate measurement for two-phase flow using an Electrical Capacitance Sensor (ECS) concerns sensor sensitivity under temperature raise. The thermal effect on electrical capacitance sensor (ECS) system for air-water two-phase flow monitoring include sensor sensitivity, capacitance measurements, capacitance change and node potential distribution is reported in this paper. The rules of 12-electrode sensor parameters such as capacitance, capacitance change, and change rate of capacitance and sensitivity map the basis of Air-water two-phase flow permittivity distribution and temperature raise are discussed by ANSYS and MATLAB, which are combined to simulate sensor characteristic. The cross-sectional void fraction as a function of temperature is determined from the scripting capabilities in ANSYS simulation. The results show that the temperature raise had a detrimental effect on the electrodes sensitivity and sensitive domain of electrodes. The FE results are in excellent agreement with an experimental result available in the literature, thus validating the accuracy and reliability of the proposed flow rate measurement system.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a numerical procedure to analyse reinforced concrete columns subjected to combined axial loads and bending that rigorously considers nonlinear material and nonlinear geometric characteristics. Column design and stability analysis are simultaneously regarded. A finite element method is used for calculating displacements and the material and geometric nonlinearities are taken into account using an iterative process. A computer program is developed from the proposed numerical procedure, and the efficiency of the program is verified against available experimental data. The model applies to constant rectangular cross sectional columns with symmetric reinforcement distribution.

  • The spring back taking place after the coiling process of steam generator tube leads to the dimensional inaccuracy. In order to reduce the spring back, tension force was applied to the one end of the tube during forming. In this work, parametric study using FEM was performed to find the appropriate magnitude of tension force. The force that induces minimum suing back was found by simultaneously taking account of suing back amount, cross-sectional ovality, and thickness of the tube wall after deformation. In addition, stress relieving by heat treatment was also simulated as an alternative to the former method. The latter was found to be more effective under the given constraints.

  • In order to simulate OLED evaporation process, modeling of directional distribution of the vaporized organic materials, film thickness distribution profile and pattern-mask shadow effect are required In accordance with many literatures; all of them except shadow effect modeling are studied and developed. In this paper, modeling algorithm of evaporation shadow is presented for process simulation of full-color OLED evaporating system. In OLED evaporating process the offset position of the point cell-source against the substrate rotation axis and the usage of the patterned mask are the principal causes for evaporation shadow. For geometric simulation of shadow using z-map, the film thickness profile, which is condensed on a glass substrate, is converted to the z-map data. In practical evaporation process, the glass substrate is rotated. This physical fact is solved and modeled mathematically for z-map simulation. After simulating the evaporation process, the z-map data can present the shadow-effected film thickness profile. Z-map is an efficient method in that the cross-sectional presentations of the film thickness profile and thickness distribution evaluation are easily and rapidly achieved.
