닭의 장기조직의 Creatine phosphokinase(CPK) 총활성 및 CPK Isoenzyme 분획에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Total Creatine Phosphokinase(CPK) Activities and CPK Isoenzymes Fractions of Organ Tissues in Chicken)

  • Clinically healthy 12 female Manina breed chicken (6 of 75 days old : group 46 of 145 days old: group B, female) were examined to establish physiological basic data on organ tissues total Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions. The tissues examined were the Lung, Heart, Liver, Proventriculus, Gizzard, Duodenum, Colon and Muscle. The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1. Total CPK activities were high with decreasing order of the Muscle > Proventriculus >Giz-zard >Heart >Duodenum> Colon >Lung >Liver in group A and Muscle >Proventriculus >Giz-zard >Heart > Colon >Duodenum > Lung > Liver in group B. Significance of total CPK activities in group difference was only found Colon, group B showed higher values than that of group A (p< 0.01). 2. In the pattern of CPK isoenzymes fractions, Lung, Heart, Liver, Proventriculus, Gizzard, Duodenum and Muscle were high with decreasing order of CK2 >CK3, Colon showed the pattern with decreasing order of CK3 >CK2. Significance of CPK isoenzymes fractions in group difference was only found Liver, CK2 in group B(P<0.01) and CK3 in group A(P<0.01) were higher than that of the other group.

닭의 혈청 Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) 총 활성 및 CPK isoenzymes분획에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Serum Total Creatine Phosphokinase (CPK) Activities and CPK Isosenzymes Fractions of Chicken)

  • Clinically healthy 66 female Maniker breed chicken(22 of 2-week-old : group A, 23 of 8-week-old: group B and 21 of 27-week-old: group C) and 66 female Manina breed chicken (21 of 2-week-old : group D, 22 of 8-week-old : group E and 23 of 27-week-old : group F) were examined to establish physiological basic data on serum total Creatine phosphokinase (CPK) activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Serum total CPK activities were $1,088{\pm}254.0\;IU\;/{\ell},$ $1,454{\pm}337.2\;IU\;/{\ell}$ and $1,440{\pm}526.3\;IU\;/{\ell}$ in gorup A, group B and group C of Maniker breed, respectively. Group B and group C showed higher values than that of group A (P<0.01) meaning high values nth aging. 2. Serum total CPK activities were $1,676{\pm}420.5\;IU\;/ {\ell},$ $1,007{\pm}283.1\;IU\;/{\ell}$ and $862{\pm}294.5\;IU/{\ell}$ in group D, group E and group F of Manina breed, respectively. Group D showed the highest value among groups (P<0.01) and Manina breed showed the low values of serum total CPK activities with aging. 3. Manina breed at 2-week-old and Maniker breed at 8-week-old and 27-week-old showed significant high values of total serum CPK activities in breed differance (P<0.01) 4. In the pattern of serum CPK isoenzyme fractions, group A and group B were high with decreasing order of $CK_3>CK_2>CK_1$ and group C was high with decreasing order of $CK_2> CK_3>CK_1$ Groihp D, E and F showed the same pattern with decreasing order of $CK_2>CK_3> CK_1.$ 5. Significance of CPK isoenzymes fractions in breed differance was only found at 8-week-old. $CK_1\;and \;CK_3$ in Maniker breed (P<0.05), and $CK_2$ in Manina breed were higher than that of the other breed (P < 0.01).

Effects of Aerobic Exercise Variables on Production of Creatine Phosphokinase in Stroke Patients

  • Background: Physical therapy applied to stroke patients is recognized as a treatment that promotes function recovery, and it is a widely known fact that constant exercise should be performed. However, there are insufficient studies on exercise intensity and exercise time that can minimize side effects and maximize function recovery for exercise therapy. Objectives: To determine the effect of exercise variables on CPK generation during aerobic exercise in stroke patients and to discover how to use appropriate exercise intensity and time when conducting an exercise for function recovery in stroke patients. Design: Quasi-experimental research. Methods: This study classified subjects into three groups (low-intensity exercise group: LIE, moderate-intensity exercise group: MIE and high-intensity exercise group: HIE) according to exercise intensity, and was further classified into two groups (10-minute exercise group: 10MG and 20-minute exercise group: 20MG) according to exercise time variables within each exercise intensity group. After, the change in CPK according to exercise intensity and time was confirmed through hematological analysis. Results: In LIE and MIE, the CPK blood concentrations before and after exercise were increased in 10MG and 20MG, which was not statistically significant (P>.05). In HIE, the CPK blood concentrations before and after exercise were increased in 10MG, and it was statistically significant (P<.05). In HIE, the CPK blood concentrations before and after exercise were increased in 20MG, and it was statistically significant (P<.01). In 10MG and 20MG, the CPK blood concentrations before and after exercises were increased in all intensity group, and there was a statistically significant difference only in HIE. Conclusion: From the results of this study, considering CPK, it will be helpful to recover and improve function if the exercise intensity setting is applied in the type of moderate intensity exercise during physical therapy interventions in stroke patients.

  • 본 연구는 Cr 투여가 태권도 선수들에게 발차기 횟수, 혈장요소 및 무산소성 파워에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 남자 고등학교 태권도 선수를 대상으로 위약집단(n=9명), Cr 투여집단(n=9명)으로 구분하여 Cr을 투여한 결과 Cr 투여집단에서만 발차기 횟수, 혈장효소, 무산소성 파워(평균파워, 최대파워)에서 각각 유의하게 증가하였다. 이러한 결과들은 Cr 투여가 태권도 선수들에게 있어서 효과적인 영양 보조물 방법이고, 단기간의 Cr 투여로도 발차기 횟수의 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Total CPK activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions of the sera and some organ tissues of dogs were examined to acquire the basic data of canine CPK available in clinical practice. In addition fluctuation of serum total CPK activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions is artificially induced canine myocardial infarctino were investigated to know the availabity of them as indicators for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. For the determination of serum total CPK activities, total 22 clinically healthy dogs(7 to 30 months old, 15 of female and 7 of male) were used and 15 out of 22 dogs were used for the determination of serum CPK isoenzymes fractions. For the determination of total CPK activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions. some organ tissues (the hearts, skeletal muscles and brains )from 3 dogs were examined. For the fluctuation of total CPK activities and CPK isoenzymes fractions in the sera from artificially induced canine acute myocardial infarction, 3 dogs of coronary artery ligated experimental group and 3 of control group were used. The results obtained were as follows ; 1. Serum total CPK activities of normal dogs were 106.2${\pm}$29.9(31.3∼148.1)IU/$\ell$. 2. The pattern of serum CPK isoenzymes fractions in normal dogs was high with decreasing order of CK$_1$>CK$_3$>CK$_2$. 3. Total CPK activities of organ tissues were high with decreasing order of the skeletal muscles > the hearts > the brains. 4. The pattern of CPK isoenzymes fractions of the organ tissues was high with decreasing order of CK$_3$>CK$_2$ in the hearts and only CK$_3$(100%) was detected in the skeletal muscles. Further they were high with decreasing order of CK$_1$>CK$_3$>CK$_2$ in the trains. 5. Serum total CPK activities in experimental group were changed with higher values than those of control group. 6. In the fluctuation of serum CPK isoenzymes fractions the CK$_1$ CK$_2$ and CK$_3$ values were changed with higher values than those of control group. 7. It was become clear that the finding of Increase of serum total CPK activities, and CK$_2$ and CK$_3$ was important for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction.

  • A 21-year-old healthy Korean man worked on a building construction site every day for almost 2 months and exercised every day for 1 or 2 hours after working hard. He felt dizziness, nausea, and experienced vomiting and body aches immediately after exercise and immediately took cold medicines including acetaminophen, cimetidine, bepotastine, and Codenal? complex for the common cold symptoms for 2 days because he was scheduled to participate in navy training at that time. He complained of severe trapezius pain and aches in his left calf 3 days after joining the Navy training. Testing revealed creatine phosphokinase (CPK) 6260 U/L, myogloblin 176 mcg/L in the urine, liver enzymes increased, and oliguria, suggesting rhabdomyolysis. He recovered with intravenous fluids without any complications.

경주마(競走馬)의 혈액화학성상(血液化學性狀)에 관한 연구: I. 혈청효소(血淸酵素) 활성치(活性値) (Studies on the Blood Chemical Properties in Racehorses: I. Serum Enzyme Activities)

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the serum enzyme activities of racehorses. The enzymes investigated were aspartate and alanine aminotransferase (GOT, GPT), ${\gamma}$-glutamyl transpeptidase(${\gamma}$-GTP), Lactic dehydrogenase(LDH), creatine phosphokinase(CPK), and alkaline phosphatase(ALP). Animals used were 30 healthy racehorses(♀17, ♂13) average weighing 435kg and were from 2 to 8 years of age. LDH activity was progressively decreased with age and next in the order of GOT and CPK activities. GOT and ${\gamma}$-GPT activities were not changed with age but ALP activity tended to be decreased wish age. Activities of GOT, GPT, ${\gamma}$-GTP and ALP were higher in female than in male. There was no difference in CPK activity by sex, and no difference was found out among breeds.

  • 본 연구는 Cr 투여가 태권도 선수들에게 운동 수행능력, 혈장요소 및 무산소성 파워에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 남자 고등학교 태권도 선수를 대상으로 위약집단, Cr 투여 집단으로 구분하여 Cr을 투여한 후 Cr 투여는 태권도 선수들에게 있어서 효과적인 영양 보조물 방법이고, 단기간의 Cr loading으로도 운동수행력의 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

The Effects of Soybean Peptide Intake on Index of Muscle Damage and Hormone Concentration in Taekwondo Player

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of soybean peptide on muscle damage index and hormone (testosterone and cortisol) concentration. Subjects of this study were 23 high school male taekwondo players who had participated in regular exercise. They were randomly divided into two groups, one group took soybean peptide (S-peptide, n=13) 4 g a day for 4 weeks and the other took placebo (placebo, n=10) for the same time. We obtained blood samples before and after experiment and analyzed for CPK (Creatine phosphokinase), LDH (Lactate dehydrogenase), ALD (Aldolase), myoglobin, testosterone and cortisol. As for body composition, there was no significant difference in weight, body fat rate and LBM (lean body mass) between the S-peptide and the S-peptide group and placebo group. In CPK, LDH, ALD and myoglobin, S-peptide group was significantly lower than the placebo group and showed significant decrease before and after intaking soybean peptide (P<0.05~0.01). In the concentration of plasma testosterone, S-peptide group was increased from two weeks but not significant difference. The concentration of plasma cortisol showed significantly decrease in the S-peptide (P<0.01). These results indicate that the intake of soybean peptide have positive effect on index of muscle damage and changes of hormone concentration.
