Experimental Study of Heave Responses of Subsea Equipment during Installation Operation Using Offshore Crane (해상크레인을 이용한 다양한 해저 장비의 설치 작업 시 상하운동응답특성에 관한 모형 시험 연구)

  • An experimental study on a subsea installation using an offshore crane was conducted. Concrete blocks, suction piles, and manifolds were considered in this study. Free decay tests were conducted to investigate the fluid characteristics of the subsea structures. The added masses of the structures were estimated. The motion response amplitudes of the subsea structures were compared for different structures and water depths. In addition, the dynamic tension transfer function of the crane wire was investigated. The root mean square values of the heave motion and the dynamic amplification factor of the wire tension were investigated in irregular waves.

  • As buildings become larger, higher and more complex in most construction sites, construction projects have to deal with transportation of more materials, labor and equipment, necessitating more use of construction equipment. Notably, in the high-rise building and plant construction projects mobile cranes are adopted more frequently among different types of construction machinery, which also results in serious industrial accidents relating to the use of crane. To reduce serious industrial accidents involving cranes, researches on its stability is in need. The research herein aims to study how to select sling and lug of mobile crane and review its stability. The research outcomes herein will make considerable contributions to selecting mobile cranes efficiently and ensuring their stability.

  • This paper considers the rail crane scheduling problem with minimizing the sum of the range of order completion time and make-span of rail crane simultaneously. The range of order completion time implies the difference between the maximum of completion time and minimum of start time. Make-span refers to the time when all the tasks are completed. At a rail terminal, logistics companies wish to concentrate on their task of loading and unloading container on/from rail freight train at a time in order to increase the efficiency of their equipment such as reach stacker. In other words, they want to reduce the range of their order completion time. As a part of efforts to meet the needs, the crane schedule is rearranged based on worker's experience. We formulate the problem as a mixed integer program. To validate the effectiveness of the model, computational experiments were conducted using a set of data randomly generated.

  • This paper is aimed to handle quick work for all the workers and to improve the productivity by adding more effective content in Crane Monitoring System. This contributing proportion of the increase of port productivity is more increasing concerning not only the port industry, but also all the informations of container crane which is the representative equipment by the rapid increase of the volume of freight of port. The basic of rapid service is the improvement of the productivity, the information of operation as to the productivity of crane for the quick handling within yard and especially the informations of breakdown and to handle breakdown as soon as possible has a greate effect on the increase of productivity.

  • Even though the tower crane is a major equipment in a construction of high rise buildings, there are lack of studies of it. This study is presenting a framework of developing a intelligent tower crane applied with the technology of machine-vision, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), or GPS(Global positioning System) and proposing the prototype of machine-vision module, sub module of this Framework. Through monitoring form CCTV(Closed Circuit Television) and LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) in machine-module the real time communication between in-site workers and crane operator is possible. this will improve the productivity and safety of the tower crane.

  • This study is carried out to analyze the stability of a container crane in according to the change of a wind direction and a machinery house location when a wind load of a wind velocity, 75m/s was applied on the state stowing a container crane by a heavy wind. A design wind load applied to this study was calculated in observance of 'Load Criteria of Building Structure'. And we analyzed the reactions of each supporting points according to appling a wind direction to an interval of $10^{\circ}\;in\;0^{\circ}{\sim}180^{\circ}$ and the structure stability of a container crane according to changing a machinery house. location occupying 15% of a container crane weight. From a results of this study, we presented a design criteria of an overturning disturbance equipment, tie-down.

  • Ship salvage crane is to salvage the equipment safely, this type of crane in the shipyard's large ships or port is being used a lot of container etc. Such a salvage crane was installed on the land and it is built to use the harbour facilities.   • As the rapid increase of the container trade, most of the container terminals strive to improve the container handling productivity. Therefore, they consider to find efficient operating strategies and to introduce new container handling facilities. In terms of equipment, there are a variety of types of quay cranes. Single-lift crane operates only one container regardless of size and twin-lift crane operates two 20' containers or one 40' container simultaneously. Tandem crane, recently introduced, can operate four 20' containers or two 40' containers simultaneously. In this paper, we propose the mathematical model and the solution procedure of the ship loading scheduling problem for the tandem crane.

  • The recent amount of container freight continuously has been increased, but the low efficiency of container crane causes jamming frequently in transportation and cargo handling at port. It is required that the working velocity and safety are improved by control of moving the trolley as quick as possible without large overshoot and any residual swing motion of container at the destination. In this paper, a LQ Fuzzy controller for a container crane is proposed to accomplish an optimal design of improved control system for minimizing the swing motion at destination. In this scheme a mathematical model for the system is obtained in state space form. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through computer simulation.
