Research and development status of Dog-Horse robot is presented based on the critical technology issues which generates severe problems or hard trade-offs to meet the general requirement of system and new technologies. This paper covers from architectural problems to specific technology to overcome the operational requirement. Technology development based on operation requirement derived new research challenges as well as advanced development for system adaptation.

In this paper an approximate solution method for the large-scale Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP) is presented. The method start with the subdivision of the problem domain into a number of clusters by considering their geometries. The clusters have limited number of nodes so as to get local solutions. They are linked to give the least path which covers the whole domain and become TSPs with start- and end-node. The approximate local solutions in each cluster are obtained by using geometrical property of the cluster, and combined to give an overall-approximate solution for the large-scale TSP.

Tan-Sui River Basin covers Taipei metropolitan area of 2,726 square kilometers with more than six million residents. Since 1988, Taiwan government started to plan and construct an integrated sewerage system, consisted by both separated and concentrated trunk sewers, wastewater treatment plants and ocean outfalls. This presentation will introduce the master plan and major facilities of Tan-Sui River Basin sewerage system. Other measures to protect general water quality and the environment of adjacent river basin area of Tan-Sui River and her tributaries by Taiwan EPA will be presented as well.

Theory and observations relating to the photoelectrons are reviewed. The photoelectrons play a very important role in the photochemistry and energetics of the upper atmosphere. It is a dominant heating source for the ambient electrons in the ionosphere. This paper covers the solar EUV flux calculation, local photoelectron production rates and the two-stream approximation of the photoelectron transport in the upper atmosphere. Some data are compiled and tabulated for reference.

This article surveys techniques and issues related to real time process control system developed for industrial control applications. It covers the system architecture and software engineering issues such as the design of data structures, scheduling of asynchronous task activities, management of shared resources, handling of interrupt and implementing an user friendly man-machine interface. One novel species, Phaeacius yunnanensis n. sp. and three species new to China, Brettus albolimbattus, Hyllus lacertosus and Ptocasius kinhi of the jumping spider.belonging to the family Salticidae, are described based on the materials collected from Yunnan Province, China. The new species is similar to Phaecius lancerarius, but can be distinguished by secondary conductor covers on the emblus. That of the latter below the emblous, retro1aterial tibial apophysis, is much more slender and with an abdominal pattern.

In this paper, we introduce IEC 60300(Dependability program management) into urban transit system, and propose effective method to apply IEC 60300 to Subway Corporation. The dependability is the collective term used to describe the availability performance and its influencing factors such as reliability performance, maintainability performance and maintenance support performance. A dependability program covers all phases of a system's life cycle from planning to operation and possibly disposal, and is composed of program elements divided into tasks.

Walking passenger injury accidents in and around stations have increased in recent years, and passengers are now more aware of being able to claim compensation for such accidents. Therefore, it is anticipated that station managers and owners will need to take measures to improve the condition of walking areas so that performance objectives are met an the compensation paid for passenger accidents is limited. The aim of this study covers the following: accidents statics and contributory factors, station flooring and footway material, guidance for flooring, and test methods for slipperiness and surface profile.

Plants and animals with fertility regulation activities which have been used in Korea are surveyed. This survey covers most of the natural resources with contraceptive, abortifacient and emmenagogue activities. It includes 110 plants and 17 animals. Twenty plants and animals with reputed antifertility potential are selected and tabulated.
