In order to install the floating transport type wind-turbine foundation, water pumping is used to sink the foundation. During this process, its mass and center of gravity, and buoyancy center become continuously changed so that the dynamic stability of the floating foundation become unstable. Dynamic stability analysis of the floating foundation is a complex problem since it should take into account not only the environmental wave, wind, and current loads but also its weight change effect simultaneously considering six-degree-of-freedom motion. In this study, advanced numerical method based on the coupled computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and multi-body dynamics (MBD) approach has been applied to the dynamic stability analysis of the floating foundation. The sloshing effect of foundation internal water is also considered and the floating dynamic characteristics are numerically investigated in detail.
3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid(3,4-DHBA) was electropolymerized on glassy carbon electrode to give the GC/p-3,4-DHBA type electrode which was modified with dopamine by the help of 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethyl carbodiimide hydrochloride(EDC) acting as a coupling agent. The carboxylic sites on the polymeric surface of p-3,4-DHBA and mine group at the dopamine gave a QCA(Au)/p-3,4-DHBA-dopamine type of modified electrodes. The o-quinone moieties at the electrode surface exhibited high selectivity to titanium ions in solution. The redox process of the electrode is hydroquinone : quinone +$2H^+2e^-$, which had two strong and two weak pairs of peaks at CV. The modified electrode can deposit Ti(IV) ions as much as $4.13\times10^{-5}gcm^{-2}$. The calibration curve of the electrodes, log of the surface coverage-normalized redox response vs log[Ti], exhibited an excellent correlation$(r{\geq}0.997)$ for titanium concentrations ranging from $5.25\times10^{-4}\;to\;5.25\tiems10^{-8}M.$.

An output multiplexer of manifold type is widely used in a recent satellite transponder f3r its mass and volume reduction. For correct operation, the filter of such a multiplexer must be singly terminated. In this paper, a simple synthesis method of a 6-pole dual-mode singly terminated filter is described. From the transfer function of the filter, network parameters such as in/output terminations and coupling matrix are obtained with the aid of orthogonal projection and plane rotation. The rotation order, pivot, and rotation angle of the plane rotation process are given for easy filter synthesis. Two different-structure filters are taken into consideration and the network parameters of each filter have been obtained from the same transfer function. The method described in this paper can be applied to the other degree singly terminated filter.

This paper proposes a rectifier using bootstrapping and active body biasing in $0.11{\mu}m$ RF CMOS process. The proposed rectifier employs the full-wave rectifying structure with cross coupling and increases the power conversion efficiency by reducing the threshold voltage and leakage current using bootstrapping and active bias biasing. Also, it has been designed to be applied to a wide range of applications from 13.56 MHz used in wireless power transmission to 915 MHz used in RFID. As a measured result, 80 % of power conversion efficiency is obtained when the input power is 0 dBm at $10k{\Omega}$ load resistance and 13.56 MHz. Also 40 % of power conversion efficiency is shown in 915 MHz.

A low-power, low-noise, highly-linear hybrid balun circuit is proposed for 2.4-GHz fully differential CMOS direct conversion receivers. The hybrid balun is composed of a passive transformer and loss-compensating auxiliary amplifiers. Design issues regarding the optimal signal splitting and coupling between the transformer and compensating amplifiers are discussed. Implemented in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process, the 2.4 GHz hybrid balun achieves 2.8 dB higher gain and 1.9 dB lower noise figure than its passive counterpart and +23 dBm of IIP3 only at a current consumption of 0.67 mA from 1.2 V supply. It is also examined that the hybrid balun can remarkably lower the total noise figure of a 2.4 GHz fully differential RF receiver only at a cost of 0.82 mW additional power dissipation.
Temporal variation of the natural planktonic community in the Southern Sea of Korea was investigated by using low floating enclosed bags (3.2m deep and 2,500 liter) in order to understand the effect of enriched nitrate on the planktonic community in the spring (March-April) of 2002. Prior to beginning the incubation, the bags were placed in two different concentrations of nitrate, which consisted of control (ambient water) and experimental mesocosms (final concentration of $12{\mu}M$). The nitrate concentration in the experimental mesocosms remained significantly higher than those in control mesocosms throughout the study period (ANOYA, p<0.001). Following the addition of nitrate, abundance and chi-a concentration of phytoplankton peaked on Day 1, when diatoms established the peak in the experimental mesocosms. Diatoms consisted mainly of Thalasxiosira decipiens, Pseudo-nitzschia pungem, Leptocylindrus danicu, Thalassionema nitzschioides, Chaetoceros pseudocrinitus and Actinoptychus senariu. However, the peak did not lead to the difference in abundance and composition of phytoplankton between control and experimental mesocosms during the study period. The dinoflagellates began to increase soon after the diatoms decreased in all mesocosms. Copepods, as a dominant group in the rnosozooplankton community, showed no immediate peak in relation to the nitrate addition, but only their own developmental process from the eggs to adult stage during the study period. The bottom-up control from enriched nitrate via phytoplankton to adult copepods was not distinguished in terms of the abundance of the planktonic community. This might stem from the relatively low nitrate availability of phytoplankton at no N-limited seawater and the weak coupling between rapidly sunken diatoms and copepods through the water column.

In this study, the design methodology of pattern classification is introduced for avoiding faults through partial discharge occurring in the power facilities and local sites. In order to classify some partial discharge types according to the characteristics of each feature, the model is constructed by using the Radial Basis Function Neural Networks(RBFNNs) and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). In the input layer of the RBFNNs, the feature vector is searched and the dimension is reduced through Principal Component Analysis(PCA) and PSO. In the hidden layer, the fuzzy coefficients of the fuzzy clustering method(FCM) are tuned using PSO. Raw datasets for partial discharge are obtained through the Motor Insulation Monitoring System(MIMS) instrument using an Epoxy Mica Coupling(EMC) sensor. The preprocessed datasets for partial discharge are acquired through the Phase Resolved Partial Discharge Analysis(PRPDA) preprocessing algorithm to obtain partial discharge types such as void, corona, surface, and slot discharges. Also, when the amplitude size is considered as two types of both the maximum value and the average value in the process for extracting the preprocessed datasets, two different kinds of feature datasets are produced. In this study, the classification ratio between the proposed RBFNNs model and other classifiers is shown by using the two different kinds of feature datasets, and also we demonstrate the proposed model shows superiority from the viewpoint of classification performance.

A coupled thermomechanical analysis of composite structures in pyrolysis and ablation environments is performed. The pyrolysis and ablation models include the effects of mass loss, pore gas diffusion, endothermic reaction energy, surface recession, etc. The thermal and structural analysis interface is based upon a staggered coupling algorithm by using a commercial finite element code. The characteristics of the proposed method are investigated through numerical experiments with carbon/phenolic composites. The numerical studies are carried out to examine the surface recession rate by chemical and mechanical ablation. In addition, the effects of shrinkage or intumescence during the pyrolysis process are shown.

In general, the fidelity of the aircraft dynamic model is verified by comparison with the flight test results of the target aircraft. Therefore, the reference flight data for performance comparisons must be extracted. This process requires a lot of time and manpower to extract useful data from the vast quantity of flight test data containing various noise for comparing fidelity. In particular, processing of flight data is complex because rotorcraft have high non-linearity characteristics such as coupling and wake interference effect and perform various maneuvers such as hover and backward flight. This study defines flight data processing criteria for rotorcraft and provides procedures and methods for automated processing of static and dynamic flight data using data mining techniques. Finally, the methods presented are validated using flight data.
This paper presents a polarization switching antenna integrated with silicon RF MEMS SPDT switches in the form of a package. A low-loss quartz substrate made of SoQ (silicon-on-quartz) bonding is used as a dielectric material of the patch antenna, as well as a packaging lid substrate of RF MEMS switches. The packaging/antenna substrate is bonded with the bottom substrate including feeding lines and RF MEMS switches by BCB adhesive bonding, and RF energy is transmitted from signal lines to antenna by slot coupling. Through this approach, fabrication complexity and degradation of RF performances of the antenna due to the parasitic effects, which are all caused from the packaging methods, can be reduced. This structure is expected to be used as a platform for reconfigurable antennas with RF MEMS tunable components. A linear polarization switching antenna operating at 19 GHz is manufactured based on the proposed method, and the fabrication process is carefully described. The s-parameters of the fabricated antenna at each state are measured to evaluate the antenna performance.
