The Spider Fauna of Chun Cheon area, Kangweon do, Korea (춘천지방의 거미상)

  • This paper is given for the first time as a list of spiders from Chuncheon area, in land of kang-weon-do, mid-eastern part of Korea. Materials were collected during the early August 1972 by the Biological members of the chuncheon girl's high school, in chuncheon area. In addition to this materials collected by paik and Nam kung during July 1973 at Mt. Sam-ak which is located on south-west of chuncheon were examined. 1) In this paper, tile authors record 105 species of spiders belonging to 22 families, including 4 undetermined species from chuncheon area. 2) The followings are newly added to the spider fauna in Korea. a) Curstulina sp. b) Zelotes asiaticus(BOES. et STR.) 3) These materials are not sufficient for general discussion of the spider fauna of chuncheon area, however, an outline can be summarized as follow: 21 northern species $(20.8\%)$ 5 southern species $(5.0\%)$ 3 cosmopolitan species $(3.0\%)$ 72 plaearctic species $(71.2\%)$

  • The genus Blacus Nees is cosmopolitan genus of the subfamily Blacinae. The members of genus Blacus endoparasites of colepterous larvae: Staphylinidae, Nitidulidae, Cryptophagidae, Scolytidae, Anobiidae, Curculionidae and Melyridae. Previously, 13 Korean species of the genus have been investigated by several researchers. In this study, eight species of the genus Blacus are reported for the first time from Korea: Blacus apaches Achterberg, B. chabarovi Belokobylskij, B. compressus Belokobylskij, B. fischeri Haeselbarth, B. interstitialis Ruthe, B. mamillanus Ruthe, B. robustus Haeselbarth, and B. ussuriensis Belokobylskij. Diagnosis and host records are given for each species.

  • The Pyeongan Supergroup can be divided into seven lithostratigraphic units (Moscovian to Early Triassic?) in the Samcheok coalfield and four lithostratigraphic units (Bashkirian to Artinskian) in the Yeongwol coalfield of South Korea. On the basis of fusulinid biostratigrapic data in the Yeongwol coalfield, the boundary between the Carboniferous and Permian strata of the Pyeongan Supergroup has been considered as unconformity since the Kasimovian and Gzhelian strata are missing. Protriticites and Triticites, which are the cosmopolitan index fusulinids indicating the Kasimovian and Gzhelian age, are not found from the uppermost part of the Geumcheon and Pangyo Formations. Recently some fusulinids such as Xenostaffella koreaensis, Hanostaffella magna, and Fusulina danyangensis found from the uppermost part of the Geumcheon and Pangyo Formations are recognized as the early Kasimovian-type fusulinids, although the upper Kasimovian- to Gzhelian-type fusulinids are still missing.

  • The electronic trade(e-Trade) revolution is changing the international trade processes dramatically. It permits new kinds of interactions among exporting and importing firms as well as internally within the firms. Ever since the Internet became a popular communications medium in the 1990s, lawmakers have struggled to develop rules for determining which courts can hear disputes involving parties in different choice of law and jurisdictions. In conclusion, I suggest an ongoing research agenda for further refining and developing a more comprehensive cosmopolitan approach. Certainly, as these cases make clear, reconceptualizing the principles underlying court to-court relations is essential in a world where the idea of a transnational community of courts is fast becoming one of the dominant realities of twenty-first century law.

Characterization of Cytophaga-Flavobacteria Community Structure in the Bering Sea by Cluster-specific 16S rRNA Gene Amplification Analysis

  • A newly designed Cytophaga-Flavobacteria-specific 16S rRNA gene primer pair was employed to investigate the CF community structure in the Bering Sea, revealing a previously unknown and unexpected high CF diversity in this high latitude cold sea. In total, 56 clones were sequenced and 50 unique CF 16 rRNA gene fragments were obtained, clustering into 16 CF subgroups, including nine cosmopolitan subgroups, five psychrophilic subgroups, and two putatively autochthonous subgroups. The majority of sequences (82%) were closely related to uncultured CF species and could not be classified into known CF genera, indicating the presence of a large number of so-far uncultivated CF species in the Bering Sea.

  • Gymnopus is a cosmopolitan genus of agaric fungi and consists of ~300 species. In Korea, Gymnopus represents common saprobic mushrooms, and 12 species have been reported in Korea. Several Gymnopus specimens were collected in Korea between 2008 and 2015. To identify them exactly, phylogenetic analysis was performed by means of the internal transcribed spacer region of ribosomal-DNA sequences from the collected Gymnopus specimens. Among them, G. iocephalus, G. polygrammus, and G. subnudus have not been reported in Korea. A phylogenetic tree and images are provided.

  • Three species in the genus Aetea (Bryozoa: Cheilostomata: Aeteidae) are described: Aetea anguina (Linnaeus, 1758), A. ligulata Busk, 1852, and A. truncata (Landsborough, 1852). Aetea ligulata Busk, 1852 and A. truncata (Landsborough, 1852) are new records of Korean bryozoan fauna. Four of the 17 species in the genus Aetea Lamouroux, 1812 are cosmopolitan or widespread. Three of these species (Aetea sica (Couch, 1844) was not observed) are reported in this study.

The Spider Fauna of Is. Dae Heucksan-do and Is. Hong-do, Korea (대흑산도와 홍도의 거미상)

  • Is. Dae Heucksan-do and Is. Heucksan-do and Is. Hong-do are located in the southwestern, apart 110km from Mockpo city, Korea., and the spider fauna of this area has never been explored. The author collected the spiders from these Islands in August 1974. Findings were; 1) 83 species of spiders belonging to 17 families, including 5 undetermined species. 2) Leptoneta sp., Carrhotus sp. (A), Marpissa sp. and Synagelides sp. are reserved for future study. 3) The materials were not sufficient for general discussion and conclusions of the spider fauna of these Islands. However, results can be summarized as follows: 7 northern species $8.9\%$ 9 southern species $11.5\%$, 4 cosmopolitan $5.1\%$ 4) The common species of mainland China were 41 $51.9\%$. 5) As the result of this survey, the spider fauna of this area is similar to that of the Is. Cheju-do and Is. Tsushima, in the south eastern area, and have much more common to China than any another area in Korea.

First Record of Paranebalia longipes (Crustacea: Phyllocarida: Leptostraca) from South Korea

  • Paranebalia longipes (Willemoes-Suhm, 1875) is cosmopolitan and has been usually found in the algal and sponge debris on the sandy mud substrates. This species can be clearly distinguished from other species of Paranebalia by the presence of serration on posterior margin of pleopods, the number of articles on antennule and antenna, and number of teeth on flange of antennule fourth article. The genus Paranebalia is new to Korea. In this paper, we provide detail descriptions of the diagnostic characteristics and illustrations of the P. longipes. Additionally, type locality and world distribution of the genus Paranebalia are provided.

A Study on the Formative Nature of The Modern City Squares (현대도시광장의 저형성에 관한 연구)

  • We discussed the formative nature of a city square reffered to be the frame of creating environment in the this study. We raised a question that the place, the size and the form of a city square are out of harmony with a surrounding environmental condition, and examined the functional effect and the formate value of a sunken square at the same time. We got hold of the special shape and the specific character, the distinctive structure, and the influence of the minute temperature of a cuty aquare, and showed the improved direction how to make them better focusing on the target square of a cosmopolitan city of Seoul. Finally, to correct the above-mentioned problems, we emphasized the our traditional city square which is reffered to have a peculiar property, and proposed that a public institutuion should develope the city square, and should make an effort to reflect the design based on the scientific experiment.
