화장품 소재와 천연고분자를 이용한 도로분진 제어에 대한 연구 (Study on control of road dust using Cosmetic Material and Natural Polymer)

  • 본 연구에서는 식품 및 화장품 원료로 널리 사용되는 천연 다당류의 분자 구조, 분자량, 점도, 친수성, 팽창, 습윤 및 보습 특성을 이용하여 도로 분진 방지제를 제조하였다. 다양한 분진 제어 효과가 확인되었으며 단순한 물 분사 및 시험 대조군인 합성PVA보다 우수한 결과를 얻었다. 또한 수분증발 비교, 비산 저감율, 공사현장 테스트 및 물벼룩 급성 독성 시험 등의 영향을 연구하고 토양 및 수질의 안전성을 연구하여 도로 분진 방지제의 유용성을 확인하였다.

프로폴리스와 허브에센셜오일을 이용한 천연방부제형의 특성 (Characterization of Natural Antiseptic System Utilized Propolis and Herb Essential Oil)

  • The cosmetic and toiletries are necessary health care & household for common life. However we need antiseptic which is effecting harmlessly to the human body. There are propolis, Lavender, Lemon, essential oil in the natural antiseptic materials. This work proceeded design Natural-antiseptic system with three materials as above-mentioned. Natural-antiseptic system was accomplished with propolis (2%), Lavender essential oil (0.3%), Lemon essential oil (0.3%) safety out of Polysorbate 20 (0.5%), Polysorbate 80 (0.5%), PEG (60) hydrogenated castor oil (0.45%), ethanol (5%). The antimicrobial test was experimented on E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus. In this antimicrobial test, we found that the effect of antisepsis against E. coli and Bacillus stearothermophilus with propolis 0.3%, Lavender essential oil 0.045% and Lemon essential oil 0.045% was improved. Therefore could expect Natural-antiseptic system product for moisturizing skin toner for face, nourishing essence and wet tissue for clean other things.

포도가공 부산물로부터 화장품용 항산화물질의 추출 및 분리 (Extraction and Isolation of Antioxidant Fraction from Waste of Grape Products for Cosmetic Application)

  • 본 연구는 포도가공부산물로부터 유용성분을 추출하여 자원의 활용과 환경오염을 줄이고, 공정을 간결하게 하여 실제산업현장에서 이용할 수 있는 공정의 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 포도가공 부산물을 포도과피와 포도씨로 나누어 과피에서는 anthocyanin을 씨에서는 oligomeric proanthocyanidin (OPC)를 주 대상물질로 하여 추출하기 위한 공정을 개발하였다. 추출된 항산화물질은 HPLC를 이용하여 정량하였으며, 이들의 효능은 DPPH법, SOD법을 이용하여 대조군들과의 비교를 통하여 확인하였다. 두 방법 모두 포도씨 추출물의 효능이 포도과피 추출물보다 뛰어난 항산화도를 보였다. 이렇게 생산된 추출물을 이용하여 multiple lamella emulsion의 화장품 제형을 개발하였고 이 제형의 안전성과 안정성을 실험적으로 확인하였다.

흉부 수술에 있어 수직액와 근육보존 개흉술의 적용 (Vertical Axillary Muscle Sparing Thoracotomy in Thoracic Surgery)

  • Vertical axillary muscle sparing thoracotomy is newly appeared and excellent alternative method of standard posterolateral thoracotomy.It has many advantages compared to standard posterolateral thoracotomy , less postoperative pain, well preserved thoracic muscle strength, full range of motion of the shoulder girdle and attractive cosmetic results. We performed vertical axillary muscle sparing thoracotomy in 36 patients from November 1993 to July 1994. The ages of the patients ranged from 6 months to 71 years[mean 45.1 years , and the patients consisted of 20 males and 16 females.The preoperative diagnosis were as follows : lung cancer in 17 patients, tbc destroyed lung in 7, bronchiectasis in 3, bullous emphysema in 3 and the others are mediastinal tumor, bronchogenic cyst, lung abscess, empyema, esophageal diverticulum, and CCAM [congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation . The operative procedures were as follows : lobectomy and bilobectomy in 16 patients, segmentectomy in 4, wedge resection in 3, penumonectomy in 7, and the others were open biopsy, lobectomy with diaphragm excision, sleeve right upper lobectomy, decortication, mediastinal mass excision, and esophageal diverticulectomy. We had 6 complications : postoperative bleeding in 2 cases, operative wound infection, arrrhythmia[atrial fibrillation , Horner`s syndrome, hoarseness. The subcutaneous seroma occurred in 4 cases but did not require drainage and relieved within 4 weeks spontaneously. We concluded that vertical axillary muscle sparing thoracotomy could be done in most of all thoracic surgery with safety. Comparing to standard posterolateral thoracotomy vertical axillary muscle sparing thoracotomy has many advantages such as less postoperative pain, well preserved muscle strengths and good cosmetic results.

INHIBITORY EFFECTS OF RAMULUS MORI EXTRACTS ON MELANOGENESIS

  • 13 develop an active agent for skin whitening, we examined the inhibitory effects of 285 plant extracts on tyrosinase activity and found some plant extracts have an ability to inhibit tyrosinase activity. Of these plant extracts, ramulus mori extracts showed the highest inhibiting activity on enzyme activity. From these results, we selected ramulus mori as a new active agent for skin whitening. $IC_{50}$/ of this extracts on tyrosinase activity is 12.48$\mu\textrm{g}$/m1. Also, ramulus mori extracts showed inhibitory activity on melanin synthesis in B-16 melanoma cells. We isolated active compound from ramulus mori extracts using various column chromatography and recrystalization and identified its chemical structure using Mass spectroscopy, IR and NMR analysis. So, it is identified as Mulberrin, a maior compound of ramutus mori and turned out that it has potent ability on tyrosinase inhibition. $IC_{50}$/ of this compound for tyrosinase activity is 0.5$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml. Also, this compound showed potent inhibitory activity on melanin synthesis in B-16 melanoma cells. This extracts was turned out to be safe in many safety tests.

Single-incision Laparoscopic Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer

  • The implementation of national cancer screening has increased the detection rates of early gastric cancer (EGC) in Korea. Since the successful introduction of laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer in the early 1990s, this technique has demonstrated improved short-term outcomes without compromising long-term oncologic results. It is associated with reduced pain, shorter hospitalization, reduced morbidity rates, better cosmetic outcomes, and equivalent mortality rates as those for open surgery. Laparoscopic gastrectomy improves patients' quality of life (QOL) and provides favorable prognosis. Single-incision laparoscopic gastrectomy (SILG) is one extremely minimally invasive method, theoretically offering improved cosmetic results, less postoperative pain, and earlier recovery after surgery than conventional multiport laparoscopic gastrectomy. In this context, SILG is thought to be an optimal method to promote and maximize patients' QOL in the acute postoperative phase. However, the technical difficulties of this procedure have limited its use. Since the first report describing single-incision distal gastrectomy in 2011, only 16 studies to date have evaluated SILG. Most of these studies have focused on the technical feasibility and safety of SILG because its long-term outcomes have not been reported. This article reviews the advantages and limitations of SILG.

Recovery of Acute Ophthalmoplegia after Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injections to the Temples: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

  • Soft tissue filler injection is the second most common nonsurgical cosmetic procedure. Despite the safety of fillers, as use has grown, so has the number of patients affected by adverse events. Ophthalmoplegia following cosmetic filler injection is a rare complication, mostly occurring after injection to the glabella, nasolabial fold, periorbital, and lateral nasal site. In all cases where ophthalmoplegia has been reported following fillers, patients have simultaneously experienced vision loss and other ocular symptoms. We report a case of isolated acute ophthalmoplegia following hyaluronic acid injection solely in the temple region. A 40-year-old woman, 3 hours after the procedure, presented to our hospital with left eye ophthalmoplegia, ptosis, and hypotropia. Treatment started with hyaluronidase, steroids, and anticoagulants. After 4 weeks, left eye ophthalmoplegia remained unchanged, and through a 10-week follow-up, all left ocular movements improved, and only mild hypotropia and ptosis persisted. This case report shows that ophthalmoplegia may also happen with temple region filler injections. We also review available prevention techniques and treatments to avoid such complications when performing soft tissue fillers for gaunt appearance correction.

네일 관련 제품들의 프탈레이트 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Phthalate Analysis of Nail Related Products)

  • 프탈레이트는 내분비계 교란 물질로서 성호르몬과 구조가 유사하여 주로 생식독성과 발달독성을 나타낸다. 이번 연구에서는 우리나라 화장품규제 물질인 3종 프탈레이트 이외 어린이제품 안전공통기준, EU 화장품 기준(EC No. 1223/2009) 등에서 규제하고 있는 프탈레이트 종류를 추가하여 총 11종 프탈레이트에 관하여 분석을 실시하였다. GC-MS/MS를 이용하여 분석조건을 설정하였고 분석방법에 대한 유효성 검증 결과 특이성, 직선성, 회수율, 정밀성, 정량한계 등을 만족하였다. 유효성이 검증된 시험방법을 이용하여 네일 화장품 및 네일 관련 제품 82건을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 네일 폴리시에서는 DBP, BBP, DEHP, DPP, DIBP, DIDP 등 6종의 프탈레이트가 $1.0{\sim}59.8{\mu}g/g$의 농도로 검출되었으나 우리나라 화장품기준에 적합하였다. 인조손톱에서는 DIBP, DBP 2종에서 $1.1{\sim}2.6{\mu}g/g$, 글루에서 DBP, DEHP 2종 $1.4{\sim}2.5{\mu}g/g$, 스티커 DIBP, DBP, DEHP 3종에서 $2.5{\sim}33.3{\mu}g/g$ 의 결과가 나왔고 '어린이제품 공통안전기준'을 적용시 모두 적합하였다. DIBP는 우리나라에는 규제물질이 아니지만 DBP (86.6%), DEHP (63.4%)에 이어 14.6%의 검출률을 나타내었다. 현재 우리나라 기준으로는 네일제품이 프탈레이트에 대해 안전하다고 판단되지만 비규제물질에 대한 지속적인 감시와 연구도 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Keratinocytic Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor as a Novel Biomarker for Pathological Skin Condition

  • Skin is an emerging target tissue in pharmaceutical and cosmetic science. Safety assessment for dermal toxicity is a critical step for development of topically applicable pharmaceutical agents and ingredients in cosmetics. Urgent needs exist to set up toxicity testing methods for dermal safety, and identification of novel biomarkers for pathological cutaneous alteration is highly required. Here we will discuss if vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has a potential as a biomarker for dermal impairment. Experimental and clinical evidences for induction of keratinocytic VEGF under pathological conditions will be reviewed.

  • 화장품과 유처리제 등에 응용할 수 있는 계면활성제인 hexadecyl pyridinium bromide를 사용하여 온도 $40{\sim}60^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 임계미셀농도를 적하법으로 측정한 결과를 이용하여 미셀형성에 따른 열역학적 양을 다항식으로 계산하였다.
