  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate tactile sense perception of the lower extremities according to physical function in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods: This study was conducted on 15 children diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy. Physical function measurement items included dynamic balance ability, gross motor function level, and lower extremity ankle spasticity. The lower extremity tactile sensation uses a monofilament to measure the sole of the first metatarsal head, the sole of the fifth metatarsal head, the heel, the anterior part of the shin midway between the patella and the ankle joint, the kneecap, the upper anterior iliac spine, and the knee. A total of six measurements were taken in the mid-femoral region of the bone. Spearman correlation analysis was performed to determine the degree of body function and lower extremity tactile perception. Results: As the physical function of children with spastic cerebral palsy deteriorated, there was a decrease in tactile sensation in the thigh area corresponding to the proximal lower extremity. (p <.05). Conclusion: Children with spastic cerebral palsy and poor physical function have sensory loss not only in the distal part but also in the proximal part, so a treatment approach that recognizes and improves it is necessary.

  • Most of the galaxy mass is known to be occupied by dark matter. However, it is difficult to directly measure the mass and distribution of dark matter in a galaxy. Recently, the velocity dispersion of the stellar population in a galaxy's center has been suggested as a possible probe of the mass of the dark matter halo. In this study, we test and verify this hypothesis using the kinematics of the satellite galaxies of isolated galaxies. We use the Friends-of-Friends (FoF)algorithm to build a catalog of primary galaxies and their satellite galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) DR 12. We calculate the dynamical mass of the primary galaxies from the velocity dispersion of their satellite galaxies. We then investigate the correlation between the dynamical mass and the central velocity dispersion of the primary galaxies. The stellar velocity dispersion of the central host galaxies has a strong linear correlation with the velocity dispersion of their satellite galaxies. Also, the stellar velocity dispersion of the central galaxy is strongly correlated with the dynamical mass of the galaxy, which can be described as a power law. The results of this study show that the central velocity dispersion of the primary galaxies is a good proxy for tracing the mass of dark matter halo.

  • This study investigated whether the Point of attachment (POA) theory can be used to measure the consumption intention on go and watch offline eSports games. The admiration for players, social interaction, and on-site consumption requirements for viewing offline eSports competitions are prioritized. In addition, eSports fans in various regions may have distinct consumption concepts and consumption patterns. Thus, this study surveyed China (n = 156) and South Korea (n = 127) eSports fans who subjectively perceive themselves to be fans of eSports player(s) and who have observed at least one offline eSports game. The results demonstrate that player attraction and socialization have positive and significant effects on offline consumption factors. There is no correlation between previous consumption behavior and satisfaction, but dining shows a significant positive effect on satisfaction. Moreover, there is a strong relationship between satisfaction and future attendance intention. In addition, effect of eSports fan attachment on future visit intentions are measured and there is no correlation between the two variables. The front end of the path in the new model's varied between Chinese and Korean supporters. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • Under ordinary atmospheric circumstances, the gravimetric technique was used to measure the solubility of L-cysteine (L-Cys) and L-alanine (L-Ala) in various solvents, including methyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, and mixtures of the two, in the range o 283.15 K to 323.15 K. Both individual solvents and their combinations showed a rise in the solubility of L-Cys and L-Ala with increasing temperature, according to the analyzed data but when analyzed at a constant temperature in the selected mixed solvents, the solubility declined with decreasing of initial mole fractions of methyl alcohol. To further assess, the relative utility of the four solubility models, we fitted the solubility data using the Jouyban-Acree (J-A), van't Hoff-Jouyban-Acree (V-J-A), Apelblat-Jouyban-Acree (A-J-A), and Ma models followed by evaluation of the values of the RAD information criteria and the RMSD were. The dissolution was also found to be an entropy-driven spontaneous mixing process in the solvents since the thermodynamic parameters of the solvents were determined using the van't Hoff model. In order to support the industrial crystallization of L-cysteine and L-alanine and contribute to future theoretical research, we have determined the experimental solubility, correlation equations, and thermodynamic parameters of the selected amino acids during the dissolution process.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze research literature, created over the past 10 years, on occupational stress among domestic dental hygienists and identify the major factors affecting occupational stress. Methods: Of the 192 articles found through literature searches, 26 were selected for the analysis after reviewing titles, abstracts, and full texts. General characteristics of each study, measurement tools employed, and data related to pertinent factors were systematically analyzed. Results: Seven instruments were utilized to measure job stress. Among the variables exhibiting positive correlation with occupational stress, turnover intention was the most prevalent, while variables showing negative correlation were predominantly associated with job satisfaction. Factors influencing occupational stress included emotional labor, workload, organizational social capital, and experiencing verbal abuse. Conclusions: With regard to the most influential factors, "emotional labor" and "turnover intention" had the greatest impacts on job stress and occupational stress, respectively. Based on the findings of this study, follow-up research needs to be conducted to suggest ways to prevent, manage, and reduce occupational stress among dental hygienists

  • Determining the nutrient stoichiometry in plant organs is critical for understanding nutrient uptake and cycling in forest ecosystems. This study evaluated nutrient concentrations and stoichiometry in various plant organs (stem, bark, branches, and foliage) of species found in four warm-temperate forests in southern Korea. Cryptomeria japonica D. Don (CJ), Quercus serrata Thunb. (QS), evergreen broadleaved tree species (EB), and bamboo spp. (BB) were destructively sampled to measure nutrient (C, N, and P) concentrations in the plant organs. The mean C concentration in the stem was significantly higher in CJ than in QS, BB, or EB, whereas the C concentration in the foliage was the lowest in BB. The mean foliar N and P concentrations were higher in BB than in EB or CJ. The mean stem C:N and C:P ratios were highest in CJ but were lowest in the foliage of BB. Overall, stems of all species showed a strong positive correlation between C concentration and dry weight, but a negative correlation between N and dry weight. The N and P concentrations of foliage and bark were strongly correlated, whereas those of the stem and branches were poorly correlated. Positive correlations were detected between the C:N and C:P ratios in bark and foliage. These results indicate the existence of intraspecific differences in nutrient requirements in warm-temperate forest species and add to the understanding of nutrient uptake and storage patterns in the organs of species growing in warm-temperate forests.

  • Digital halftoning is a process to produce a binary image so that the original image and its binary counterpart appear similar when observed from a distance. Among digital halftoning methods, error diffusion is a procedure for generating high quality bilevel images from continuous-tone images but blurs the edge information in the bilevel images. To solve this problem, we propose the improved error diffusion using local spatial information of the original images. Based on the fact that the human vision perceives not a pixel but local mean of input image, we compute edge enhancement information(EEI) by appling the ratio of a pixel and its adjacent pixels to local mean. The weights applied to local means is computed using the ratio of local activity measure(LAM) to the difference between input pixels of 3$\times$3 blocks and theirs mean. LAM is the measure of luminance changes in local regions and is obtained by adding the square of the difference between input pixels of 3$\times$3 blocks and theirs mean. We add the value to a input pixel of quantizer to enhance edge. The performance of the proposed method is compared with conventional methods by measuring the edge correlation. The halftone images by using the proposed method show better quality due to the enhanced edge. And the detailed edge is preserved in the halftone images by using the proposed method. Also the proposed method improves the quality of halftone images because unpleasant patterns for human visual system are reduced.

  • This paper proposes a Image retrieval system that searches the closest images to the user's emotional need and displays images with higher ratings of color harmony from Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory first. Once an emotional adjective is placed, the system searches for images with colors that contain more elements derived from Aesthetic Measure results and displays in such order. In order to test reliability of the proposed emotion retrieval method based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory, this study compared the order of Aesthetic Measure results with the user satisfaction ratings using 200 sample images. The analysis demonstrated that the participants' average satisfaction on 15 emotion adjectives selected for the study was 5.0 on a 7-point Likert scale. Correlation analyses were performed to test the consistency the orders between Aesthetic Measure values and user satisfaction ratings. Positive correlations above R=.5 were observed in all 14 emotion words except "Clear". These findings prove the potential of the proposed emotion retrieval system based on Moon-Spencer's Color Harmony Theory to effectively reflect user emotion in such visual stimulus search as image database.

  • In order to see the variation of human nature, M.M.P.I. was carried on 2, April 1992 (the last day of the second lunar month) and 15, June 1992 (the fifteenth day of the fifth lunar month). These experiments took male and female students who were in Won kwang University as subjects (108 students on 2, April, 105 students on 15, June). The results of it suggested the followings. 1) Every students' average of T-grades on each measure were in a normal scope. 2) There were no significant differences in comparison between the fifteenth day and the last day of the month. 3) On every measure except L, Mf, Si, the female students showed higher grade in the fifteenth day than the last day of the month. But there was no significant difference in male students. Both male and female students didn't show the significant one. 4) On the fifteenth day of the month, the female students showed higher T-grade then male did on every measure except Mf, Ma, Si. There was a significant difference on D, Pd, Mf(P<0.05) measure. 5) On the last day of the month, male students showed higher T-grade then female did on every measure except L, K, Hy, Pt. There was a significant difference on L(P<0.001), K(P<0.01). 6) On experiments about female students, there was no symptom of neurosis and psychosis on the last day of the month. But three of sixteen students(18.7%) showed symptom of neurosis, one of thirteen(6%) showed symptom of psychosis on the fifteenth day of the month. On experiments about male students, eleven of ninety-two(11.9%), four of ninety-two(4.3%) showed symptom of neurosis and psychosis respectively on the fifteenth day of the month. Ten of ninety-two(10.8%), six of ninety-two(6.5%) showed symptom of neurosis and psychosis respectively on the last day of the month. As the results of the above, human nature changes to some extend according to lunar cycle. And there are many changes in female than male. But it is difficult to generalize this fact by limited subject and only one experiments. So the controlled studies are needed on the basis of this result and have to take many person as a subject.
