  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors related to eating attitudes of female high school students. Methods: Data were collected from 299 high school girls in 2016. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: There was a positive correlation between eating attitudes and anger thoughts, anger expression, perfectionism, depression, and problem behaviors. There was a negative correlation between eating attitudes and body esteem. The predictors of eating attitudes were perfectionism, body esteem, depression, and problem behaviors, which explained 23.7% of the participants' eating attitudes. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that it is necessary to recognize and measure the predictors of eating attitudes in advance and develop school-based health interventions to prevent eating disorders and improve eating attitudes among female high school students.

  • In recent years, selection of strong ground motion records by means of intensity measures representing the spectral shape of the earthquake excitation has been studied by many researchers. These studies indicate the adequacy of this record selection approach in reduction of the scattering of seismic responses. In present study, this method has been studied more in depth to reveal the sufficiency of the spectral shape in predicting structural seismic responses such as the plastic deformation and the dissipated hysteresis energy which are associated with cumulative properties of the selected records. For this purpose, after selecting the records based on the spectral shape, the correlation of some seismic responses and strong ground motion duration of earthquake records are explored. Findings indicate strong correlation of some structural responses with the significant duration of the records. This fact implies that the spectral shape could not reflect all characteristics of the strong ground motion and emphasizes the importance of additional criteria along with the spectral shape in the record selection.

  • There is a problem to measure neutral bio-signals during sleep because of inconvenience of attaching lots of sensors. In this study, we measured single electrocardiogram(ECG) signal and analyzed the correlation with sleep. After R-peak detection from ECG signal, we extracted 9 features from time and frequency domain of heart rate variability(HRV). Mean of HRV, RR intervals differing more than 50ms(NN50), and divided by the total number of all RR intervals(pNN50) have significant differences in each sleep stage. Specially, the mean HRV has an average of 87.8% accuracy in classifying sleep and awake status. In the future, the measurement ECG signal minimizes inconvenience of attaching sensors during sleep. Also, it can be substituted for the standard sleep measurement method.

  • Recently, a new method of evaluating left atrial size called vertebral left atrial size (VLAS) was introduced in dogs. Total 155 dogs were examined at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. In this study, myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) stage and VLAS showed a significant correlation in those dogs. Also, the relationship between C-reactive protein (CRP) and VLAS has yet to be examined. We found a strong positive correlation between VLAS and CRP-a significant increase in CRP was observed with increasing VLAS values. Thus, it would be beneficial to measure VLAS besides employing the current radiological and echocardiographic methods when evaluating heart size. Measuring VLAS could be an additional diagnostic tool for diagnosing MMVD in dogs.

  • The classical-fluids density functional theory has been developed for studying the structural and the electrical properties of electrolyte solutions containing uniformly charged hard-spherical ions. The modified fundamental-measure theory has been used to evaluate the hard-sphere contribution. The mean-field approximation has been employed to calculate the cross correlation between the hard sphere contribution and the Coulomb interaction. The Poisson equation for ions carrying charges that are spatially separated has been solved. The present theory shows reasonably good agreement with the corresponding Monte Carlo simulation results. The calculated results show that the attraction between like-charged planar surfaces is the result of the intra-ionic correlation and depends strongly on the ion size, valence, mole fraction, and charge distribution of electrolytes.

  • Because fine dust (PM10) has a close effect on the environment, fine dust generated in the climate and living environment has a bad effect on the human body. In this study, the LSTM model was applied to predict and analyze the effect of fine dust on Gwangju Metropolitan City in Korea. This paper uses prediction values of input variables selected through correlation analysis to confirm fine dust prediction performance. In this paper, data from the Gwangju Metropolitan City area were collected to measure fine dust. The collection period is one year's worth of data was used from january to December of 2021, and the test data was conducted using three-month data from January to March of 2022. As a result of this study, in the as a result of predicting fine dust (PH10) and ultrafine dust (PH2.5) using the LSTM model, the RMSE was 4.61 and the test result value was as low as 4.37. This reason is judged to be the result of the contents of the one-year sample.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the mediating effect of kindergarten teachers' psychological burnout in the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions. We conducted a cross-sectional study with 191 kindergarten teachers in South Korean. To measure the major variables, Grit scale [1], teacher-child interaction scale [2], and psychological burnout scale [3] were used. Hayes' PROCESS macro was used to test mediation effects of psychological burnout in the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions. Indirect effects were tested using bootstrapped confidence intervals. As the results, kindergarten teachers' teacher-child interactions were found to have a significantly positive correlation with their grit but a significantly negative correlation with their psychological burnout. In addition, the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions was mediated by psychological burnout.

  • Characteristics of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic sheet depend on the quantity and shape of fibers. During a molding process of composites, the fiber-maxtrix separation and fober orientation are caused by the flow during the molding process. As a result, the product tends to be nonhomogeneous and anisotropic. Hence, it is very important to clarify the relations between separation-orientation and molding conditions. The correlation between the separation and the orientation have to be clarified for designing the fiber structure. In this paper, the degree of nonhomogeneity which is a measure of the separation is obtained using one-dimensional rectangular shaped part compression molding. And the orientation function is defined and measured by the image processing using soft X-rayed photograph and image scammer. Correlation between the degree of nonhomogeneity and the orientation function is discussed.

  • Water potential which controls miosture movement in concrete is a kind of stress which causes concrete shrinks or expands. Therefore, there is a straightforward relationship between the water potential and the shrinkage strain. Explicit equations which show the relationships between the two parameters were derived through rational process. Two micro mechanisms among three shrinkage mechanisms were considered in the theory. Thermocouple psychrometer were embedded in a concrete slab to measure the water potential and also to find a correlation with the shrinkage. The test results prove the validity of the theory, and show the way to utilize the delived equations.

  • In this paper, a new LMS algorithm with a variable step size (VVS LMS) is presented. The change of step size .mu. at each iteration, which increases or decreases according to the misadaptation degree, is computed by a proportional fuzzy logic controller. As a result the algorithm has very good convergence speed and low steady-state misadjustment. The norm of the cross correlation between the estimation error and input signal is used. As a measure of the misadaptation degree. Simulation results are presented to compare the performance of the VSS LMS algorithm with the normalized LMS algorithm.
