Sequencing Strategy for Autonomous Mobile Robots in Real Environments (이동로봇 자율주행을 위한 행위모듈의 실행순서 조정기법)

  • Autonomous mobile robots are required to achieve multiple goals while responding quickly to the dynamic environments. An appropriate robot control architecture, which clearly and systematically defines the relationship among the inputs, the processing functions and the outputs, thus needs to be embedded in the robot controller. This paper proposes a kind of hybrid control architecture which combines the key features of the two well-known robot control architectures; hierarchical and behavioral- based. The overall control architecture consists of three layers, i.e. the highest planner, the middle plan executor, and the lowest monitor and behavior-based controller. In the planned situation, only one behavior module is chosen by the logical coordinator in the plan executor according to the way point bin. In the exceptional situation, the central controller in the plan executor issues an additional control command to reach the planned way point. Several simulations and experiments with autonomous mobile robot show that the proposed architecture enables the robot controller to achieve the multiple sequential goals even in dynamic and uncertain environments.

Design of Real-Time CAN Framework Based on Plug and Play Functionality

  • Nowadays most vehicles are equipped with a variety of electronic devices to improve user convenience as well as its performance itself. In order to efficiently interconnect these devices with each other, Controller Area Network (CAN) is commonly used. However, the CAN requires reconfiguration of the entire network when a new device, which is capable of supporting both of transmission and reception of data, is added to the existing network. In addition, since CAN is based on the collision avoidance using address priority, it is difficult that a new node is assigned high priority and eventually it results in transmission delay of the entire network. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new system component, called CAN coordinator, and design a new CAN framework capable of supporting plug and play functionality. Through experiments, we also prove that the proposed framework can improve real-time ability based on plug and play functionality.

A Dynamic Zigbee Protocol for Reducing Power Consumption

  • One of the obstacles preventing the Zigbee protocol from being widely used is the excessive power consumption of Zigbee devices in low bandwidth and low power requirement applications. This paper proposes a protocol that resolves the power efficiency problem. The proposed protocol reduces the power consumption of Zigbee devices in beacon-enabled networks without increasing the time taken by Zigbee peripherals to communicate with their coordinator. The proposed protocol utilizes a beacon control mechanism called a "sleep pattern," which is updated based on the previous event statistics. It determines exactly when Zigbee peripherals wake up or sleep. A simulation of the proposed protocol using realistic parameters and an experiment using commercial products yielded similar results, demonstrating that the protocol may be a solution to reduce the power consumption of Zigbee devices.

  • IEEE 802.15.3 High­Rate WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network)는 10m 내외의 무선환경에서 실시간 비디오, 고품질 오디오 및 대용량 파일 전송을 가능케 하는 기술이다. 하나의 네트워크를 piconet단위로 구성하고 하나의 piconet에는 PNC(piconet coordinator)가 TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) 방식으로 DEV(device)들에게 채널타임을 할당한다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.15.3 High­Rate WPAN 환경에서 하나의 piconet이 형성된 경우 동시에 여러 개의 채널을 최대한 활용하기 위한 다중 채널 MAC을 제안하고 이를 위한 타임 할당 방식을 연구한다.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the job characteristics of foodcoordinator. 34.56% of subjects have the part of food as a speciality in college or University. 50.67% of subjects don't have any licence which is related with food. 30.67% of subjects have 1-3year or under career in the food part. Upon investigation the educational period by the period of career in food part, Subjects who had 5 year over career in the food part have 60.34month educational period. Upon investigation the speciality in college or University by the period of career in food part, 58.33% of 5 year over career in the food part respondents have food speciality in college or University. As the period of career in food was increased, the importance of cooking was increased.

  • ZigBee network, based on PHY, MAC layer provides a specification for a suite of high level communication protocols using small, low-power digital radio based on an IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Meshing is a type of daisy chaining from one device to another. This technique allows the short range of an individual node to be expanded and multiplied, covering a much larger area. Each wireless technology that makes it to market serves a special purpose or function. Zigbee provides short-range connectivity in what is called a personal-area network (PAN). Within ZigBee PAN coordinator as manages an entire ZigBee network, the short range of frequency band was only selected because the technology allows typically less than 100 kbp or ZigBee troubles in retransmission processing and delaying data tranmission works to create unproductive condition of work. This research was proposed the method, based on short range frequency of zigBee nodes enable to long range of remote data transmission with specific algorithm tools.

Transient Coordinator : a Collision Resolution Algorithm for Asynchronous MAC Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks (센서 네트워크 환경에서 비동기식 MAC 프로토콜을 위한 충돌해결 알고리즘)

  • 일반적으로 비동기식 센서 네트워크 MAC 프로토콜들은 별도의 충돌회피 알고리즘을 사용하지 않기 때문에 동기식 MAC 프로토콜에 비해 충돌에 의한 성능 저하가 크게 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 충돌에 따른 비동기식 MAC 프로토콜의 성능 저하 문제를 최소화하기 위해 수신 노드가 충돌을 야기한 송신 노드들의 전송 순서를 제어하여 추가적인 충돌을 제거할 수 있는 비동기식 MAC 프로토콜용 충돌해결 알고리즘을 소개한다. 충돌을 감지한 수신 노드는 충돌을 일으킨 송신 노드들에 대한 정보를 수집하고 이를 이용하여 충돌이 발생하지 않는 전송 순서를 각 송신 노드에게 지정한다. 송신 노드들은 지정된 순서에 따라 독점적인 채널 사용 권한을 얻으며 이를 통해 송신 노드간의 충돌을 회피할 수 있다. 실험에 대한 분석에 따르면 본 논문에서 제안하는 충돌해결 알고리즘은 반복적인 충돌을 방지하여 그로 인해 낭비되는 시간과 대역폭을 줄이고 이를 통해 각 노드당 평균 데이터 처리량을 약 18.6% 증가시킬 수 있다.

Improvement of Mobile U-health Service System Using Feces and Urine Sensing U-Care Scheme

  • This paper presents a novel method to design and implement mobile u-health system by defining the essential elements of mobile healthcare services. We choose common service elements for the proposed u-healthcare scheme and design the service platform. Especially we focus on automatic feces or urine sensing u-care scheme to prove the effectiveness of our platform. We construct the system with sensing part with a manikin and a diaper, wireless communication part with feces or urine sensing data, and coordinator system based on the u-health platform defined in this paper. Experimental results show that our scheme is useful in the area of u-care service for the handicapped, the elderly, and patients who can hardly move by themselves. In addition the designed scheme offers a realized u-care scheme with the purpose of advanced developing tools for application or service developers.

  • This paper presents a new dynamically adaptable polling scheme for efficient support of real-time traffic over an IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN network. The poll scheduling plays an important role in IEEE 802.11 PCF. However, the current version of the polling list management scheme proposed in the IEEE 802.11 standard is inefficient when a variable number of mobile stations have variable packets to transmit. If Point Coordinator has an exact information on the station status, it is possible to efficiently perform polling. In this paper, we suggest an adaptable polling scheme to meet requirements of the stations. In our scheme, each station transmits packets including a piggyback information to inform that it wants to receive a poll in the next polling duration. Simulation results indicate that our scheme may reduces the packet discard ratio and real-time packet transfer delay.

  • ECDIS의 이용과 함께 AIS, LRIT와 같은 선박식별 추적장치의 도입은 항해환경의 많은 변화를 유도하고 있다. 영국, 미국, 노르웨이, 일본 등 해운선진국들을 중심으로 전자항해의 전략개발에 관한 의제가 IMO MSC81차 회의에서 제안된 이후 2008년 MSC 제85차 회의까지 완료를 목표로 장기과제로 채택된 바가 있다. MSC 제81차 회의에서는 MAV.가 Coordinator로 하여 신규의제로 검토하도록 COMSAR 11 및 NAV 53차에 지시한 바가 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 및 국외 전자항해 및 해양정보시스템의 동향분석을 통하여 효율적인 정보교환을 위한 해양정보통신시스템의 발전방안을 제시하였다.
