  • CIELAB coordinate is represented by one lightness component and two chromaticity components and similar to human visual system. Visual devices such as computer monitor display images using RGB coordinate. We propose a technique for inserting the watermark of visually recognizable mark into the middle frequency domain of image. RGB coordinate image is transformed into CIELAB coordinate, which include the characteristics of Human vision and then a* component is transformed into DFT(Discrete Fourier transform) transform.

  • Rotated face detection is required in many applications but still remains as a challenging task, due to the large variations of face appearances. In this paper, a polar coordinate transform that is not affected by rotation is proposed. In addition, a method for effectively detecting rotated faces using the transformed image has been proposed. The proposed polar coordinate transform maintains spatial information between facial components such as eyes, mouth, etc., since the positions of facial components are always maintained regardless of rotation angle, thereby eliminating rotation effects. Polar coordinate transformed images are trained using AdaBoost, which is used for frontal face detection, and rotated faces are detected. We validate the detected faces using LBP that trained the non-face images. Experiments on 3600 face images obtained by rotating images in the BioID database show a rotating face detection rate of 96.17%. Furthermore, we accurately detected rotated faces in images with a background containing multiple rotated faces.

  • In the closed range space, the parallel two CCD cameras are used to acquire a pair of stereo image. The acquired stereo image are computed with Wavelet Transform repeatedly and including the low frequency component, the image size of those are reduced. It is the pyramid structure. The optimum matching point is searched to the pixel. Then appling the optimum matching point to DLT, it extract the three - dimensional surface coordinate from a stereo image. The direct linear transformation(DLT) method is used to calibrate the stereo camera compute the coordinate on a three dimensional space. To find the parameters for the DLT method, 30 control points which marked on the cylinder type object are used. To improve the matching algorithm, the paper select the pyramid structure for Wavelet Transform. The acquired disparity information is used to represent the really three-dimensional surface coordinate.

  • Inertial navigation systems requires gravity model to compute gravity acceleration and its trajectory accuracy depends on the gravity model accuracy especially for a long range flight. The gravity model accuracy is important for satellite orbit prediction as well. The precision gravity model requires a precision coordinate transformation between inertial and Earth fixed coordinates. Precision gravity acceleration algorithms with a coordinate transform are studied and a computer program is developed. The effects of individual model components on trajectory error are analyzed.

  • This paper presents a novel method for power system harmonic estimation based on the Park transform. The proposed method firstly extends the signal to a group of three-phase signals in a-b-c coordinate. Then, a linear fitting based method is adopted to estimate the fundamental frequency. Afterwards, the Park transform is utilized to convert the three-phase signals from a-b-c coordinate to d-q-0 coordinate. Finally, the amplitude and phase of a harmonic component of interest can be calculated using the d-axis and q-axis components obtained. Simulation studies have been conducted using matrix laboratory (MATLAB) and power system computer aided design/electromagnetic transients including direct current (PSCAD/EMTDC). Simulation studies in MATLAB have considered three scenarios, i.e., no-frequency-deviation scenario, frequency-deviation scenario and the scenario in the presence of inter-harminics. The results have demonstrated that the proposed method achieves very high accuracy in frequency, phase and amplitude estimation under noisy conditions, and suffers little influence of the inter-harmonics. Moreover, comparison studies have proved that the proposed method is superior to FFT and Interpolated FFT with the Hanning Window (IpFFTHW). Finally, a popular case in PSCAD/EMTDC has been employed to further verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper deals with the rotation-free optical sensor which will be used for two dimensional robot tracking. This sensor consists of position sensing device and coordinate transformation unit which transform the sensor coordinate into base coordinate. A new coordinate transformation algorithm which use analog signal is presented, and an analog circuit based on this algorithm is constructed. To prove the rightness of this algorithm, same experiments are carried out. And the performance, of this sensor is investigated.

  • For the image processing system to be classified the selected object in the nature, the rotation, scale and transition invariant features is to be necessary. There are many investigations to get the information for the object processing system and the log-polar transform which is to be get the invariant feature for the scale and rotation is used. In this paper, we suggested the 2 points polar coordinate transform methods to measure the selected object position out of the center in input image including the centroid method. In this proposed system, the position results of objects are very good, and we obtained the similarity ratio 99~104% for the object coordinate values.

  • This paper proposed a error compensation methodology for three-DOF translational parallel manipulator. The proposed method uses CMM (coordinate measuring machine) as metrology equipment to measure the position of end-effector. To identify the transform relationships between the coordinate system of the parallel manipulator and the CMM coordinate system, a new coordinate referencing (or coordinate system identification) technique is presented. By using this technique, accurate coordinate transformation relationships are efficiently established. According to these coordinate transformation relationships, an equation to calculate the compensating error components at any arbitrary position of the end-effector is derived. In this paper, Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to simulate the compensation process. Through the simulation results, the proposed error compensation method proves its effectiveness and feasibility.

  • This paper proposes precision evaluation method for the positioning error of three-DOF translational parallel mechanism. The proposed method uses conventional CMM as metrology equipment to measure the position of end-effector. In order to obtain accurate measurement data from CMM, the transform relationship between the coordinate system of the parallel mechanism and the CMM coordinate system must be identified. For this purpose, a new coordinate referencing (or coordinate system identification) technique is presented. By using this technique accurate coordinate transformation relationships are efficiently established. According to these coordinate transformation relationships, an equation to calculate error components at any arbitrary position of the end-effector is derived. In addition, mathematical fitting models to represent the position error components in the two-dimensional workspace of the parallel mechanism are also constructed based on response surface methodology. The proposed error evaluation method proves its effectiveness through the experimental results and its application to real three-DOF parallel mechanism.
