Vehicular Cooperative Navigation Based on H-SPAWN Using GNSS, Vision, and Radar Sensors (GNSS, 비전 및 레이더를 이용한 H-SPAWN 알고리즘 기반 자동차 협력 항법시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a vehicular cooperative navigation system using GNSS, vision sensor and radar sensor that are frequently used in mass-produced cars. The proposed cooperative vehicular navigation system is a variant of the Hybrid-Sum Product Algorithm over Wireless Network (H-SPAWN), where we use vision and radar sensors instead of radio ranging(i.e.,UWB). The performance is compared and analyzed with respect to the sensors, especially the position estimation error decreased about fifty percent when using radar compared to vision and radio ranging. In conclusion, the proposed system with these popular sensors can improve position accuracy compared to conventional cooperative navigation system(i.e.,H-SPAWN) and decrease implementation costs.

  • The operational design domain (ODD) of autonomous vehicles needs to be expanded on highways and urban roads in light of the substantial commercialization of Level 3 autonomous vehicles. Therefore, this study developed a specific infrastructure autonomous vehicle-based cooperative driving service to ensure the driving safety of autonomous vehicles on city roads. The traffic operation efficiency, safety evaluation, and core evaluation indices for each service were selected and analyzed to study the effect of each service. The result of the analysis confirmed that the traffic operation efficiency and safety of autonomous vehicles were improved through the V2X communication-based autonomous cooperative driving service. On the whole, the significance of this study is in deriving the effect of the autonomous cooperative driving service based on V2X communication on urban roads with interrupting traffic flow.

  • Most transportation problems are expected to be dealt with by public sector, mainly government organizations, even though few articles are available to tackle the problems from the administrative points of view. This study has the following scopes: to define the transportation system; to derive the subsystems, i.e., the functions of the system; to identify the elements (or organizations) of performing the functions; to study the inter-organizational relationships among the elements and to derive problem areas; and finally to propose a new administrative system for solving the problems. System Theory was exclusively used for defining the system and deriving subsystems of transportation. Laws and regulations about government organizations were analyzed to identify the relevant organizations. Communications analysis was used for deriving the relationships among the organizations. Ledger books containing incoming-and-outgoing documents in the sampled organizations were inputed onto computer. Exactly 49,367 records(i.e., information flows) were stored for this analysis. Finally, this study proposed a new administrative system that is expected to result in more cooperative and productive inter-organizational relationships among the transportation organizations.

In our former work, a decentralized control system for transporting a single object by multiple nonholonomic mobile robots has been developed.   • Autonomous vehicles are equipped with a wide rage of sensors such as GPS, RADAR, LIDAR, camera, IMU, etc. and are driven by recognizing and judging various transportation systems at intersections in the city. The accident ratio of the intersection of the autonomous vehicles is 88% of all accidents due to the limitation of prediction and judgment of an area outside the sensing distance. Not only research on non-signalized intersection collision avoidance strategies through V2V and V2I is underway, but also research on safe intersection driving in failure situations is underway, but verification and fragments through simple intersection scenarios Only typical V2V failures are presented. In this paper, we analyzed the architecture of the V2V module, analyzed the causal factors for each V2V module, and defined the failure mode. We presented intersection scenarios for various road conditions and traffic volumes. we used the ISO-26262 Part3 Process and performed HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) to analyze the risk of autonomous vehicle based on the simulation. We presented ASIL, which is the result of risk analysis, proposed a monitoring concept for each component of the V2V module, and presented monitoring coverage.

These are the valuation under different farming conditions, cost-benefit analysis in connection with the investment requirements of different semi-liquid manure systems, different storage capacities, transportation distances and treatment procedures. In the following, there questions will be discussed : 1. What value do the different types of semi-liquid manure have under different farming conditions? 2. Which storage capacities are economically justified? 3. Under which conditions is the transport of semi-liquid manure over long distances profitable?

  • The multi-scenario topology of multi-channel hybrid ubiquitous sensor networks (USNs) is studied and a novel link auto-diversity cross-layer cooperative scheduling scheme is proposed in this paper. The proposed scheme integrates the attributes of the new performance evaluation link auto-diversity air-time metric and the topology space in the given multi-scenario. The proposed scheme is compared with other schemes, and its superiority is demonstrated through simulations. The simulation results show that relative energy consumption, link reception probability, and end-to-end blocking probability are improved. The addressing ratio of success with unchanged parameters and external information can be increased. The network can tolerate more hops to support reliable transportation when the proposed scheme is implemented. Moreover, the scheme can make the network stable. Therefore, the proposed scheme can enhance the average rate performance of the hybrid USN and stabilize the outage probability.

  • The current transportation regime is largely based on two alternatives: (1) fixed route public transit, and (2) private ownership of internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles per households. This paper analyzes one possible transportation alternative, Micro Electric Vehicles or MEVs, and compares with the ICE vehicles in terms of social, economic and environmental benefits, especially emphasizing its environmental advantage over ICE vehicles for future sustainability. While some representative models of MEVs exist in a limited market capacity, but global technical standards are generally insufficient and non-homogenous across nations, which restricts the development of the proposed transportation sector. The focus of this paper is to analyze the characteristics and potential benefits of MEVs in economical and environmental perspectives, including development status and technical standards, with a particular focus in the E.U., the U.S., Japan, and Korea. Based on the data of analysis, this paper aims to derive and propose a cooperative and adaptive global policy framework designed to speed up adoption and expansion of the global MEV market, including passenger and utility vehicles. We propose MEV to be a new mobility segment in the global transportation market because of their advantage in environmental impact, sustainability, overall cost of ownership, and safety.
