Owing to the need to establish a cooperative-intelligent transport system (C-ITS) environment in the transportation sector locally and abroad, various research and development efforts such as high-tech road infrastructure, connection technology between road components, and traffic information systems are currently underway. However, the current central control center-oriented information collection and provision service structure and the insufficient road infrastructure limit the realization of the C-ITS, which requires a diversity of traffic information, real-time data, advanced traffic safety management, and transportation convenience services. In this study, a network construction method based on the existing received signal strength indicator (RSSI) selected as a comparison target, and the experimental target and the proposed intelligent edge network compared and analyzed. The result of the analysis showed that the data transmission rate in the intelligent edge network was 97.48%, the data transmission time was 215 ms, and the recovery time of network failure was 49,983 ms.

In this study, we propose a limited feedback-based frequency divided group beamforming with sparse space-frequency transmit diversity coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system for ultrareliable low latency communication (URLLC) scenario. The proposed scheme has several advantages over the traditional hybrid beamforming approach, including not requiring downlink channel state information for baseband precoding, supporting distributed multipoint transmission structures for diversity, and reducing beam sweeping latency with little uplink overhead. These are all positive aspects of physical layer characteristics intended for URLLC. It is suggested in the system to manage the multipoint transmission structure realized by distributed panels using a power allocation method based on cooperative game theory. Link-level simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme offers reliability by achieving both higher diversity order and array gain in a nonline-of-sight channel of selectivity and limited spatial scattering.

In cognitive radio networks, when the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the link between a primary transmitter and receiver is sufficiently high, the primary transmission does not frequently demand cooperation because direct transmission of the primary communication is usually successful. Therefore, there are few opportunities for a secondary transmitter to cooperate with the primary user system in exchange for an opportunity to share the spectrum. This article proposes a scheme in which the secondary system can deliberately degrade the SNR of the primary transmission, making it so that the primary system needs cooperation from the secondary nodes, and thereby increases opportunities for spectrum sharing.

The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and Wireless USB. In this paper, firstly, the fair SoQ-based Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) for D-MAC is analyzed. And a novel SoQ-based relay transmission protocol is proposed to overcome DRP conflicts fast. In the proposed protocol, each device executes the Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) time slot allocation algorithm independently. And, in order to give the loser device due to DRP conflicts another chance to maintain QoS resources, the proposed relay transmission protocol helps the device reserve another indirect link maintaining the required QoS resources via a relay node.
In this paper, we derive the outage probability for M-ary phase shifting keying (MPSK) and M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) burst transmission (BT) of adaptive decode-and-forward (ADF) cooperative relay systems over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Within a burst, there are pilot symbols and data symbols. Pilot symbols are used for channel estimation schemes and each relay node's transmission mode selection schemes. At first, we focus on ADF relay systems in which the probability density function (PDF) is derived on the basis of error events at relay nodes corresponding to channel estimation errors. Next, the average outage probability is derived as an approximate expression for an arbitrary link signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for different modulation orders. Its accuracy is demonstrated by comparison with simulation results. Further, it is confirmed that BT-ADF relay systems with pilot symbol based channel estimation schemes enables to select correctly decoded relay nodes without additional signaling between relay nodes and the destination node, and it is verified that the ideal performance is achieved with small SNR loss.

We propose a wireless-powered multihop transmission scheme using inter-node cooperation in a linear network topology. The proposed protocol determines the energy transfer time for each node to make the lifetime of the each node be equal in order to maximize the lifetime of the multihop path. To make the lifetime of each node the same, we apply the flocking algorithm which imitates the behavior of a bird flock flying at the same velocity, so that the lifetime of the nodes is averaged locally. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can maximize the lifetime of the multihop path by making all nodes have the same lifetime.
To provide an efficient link maintenance approach, we propose a cross layer medium access control (LM-MAC) protocol for multichannel cognitive radio ad hoc networks. Link establishment and reliable transmission are two key problems for a perfect link maintenance mechanism. Since the cognitive user (CU) pairs have to reestablish their links each frame, in the proposed MAC protocol, three different access modes are designed to guarantee transmission efficiency in continuous frames. To enhance the transmission reliability, each CU will create a father spectrum list (FSL) after joining in the network. FSL is divided into three groups of sub-channels with different functions to compensate the packet loss caused by the primary users' appearance and the deep fading. Meanwhile, since the transmitter and the receiver will share the same FSL, periodical cooperative sensing is adopted to further optimize the former problem. Finally, compared with the existing opportunistic multichannel (OMC)-MAC protocol, the proposed LM-MAC protocol achieves better system performance in terms of saturation throughput, continuity and access delay.

In cognitive radio network (CRN), spectrum sensing is an elementary level of technology for non-interfering to licensed user. Required sample number for spectrum sensing is directly related to the throughput of secondary user and makes the tradeoff between the throughput of secondary user and interference to primary user. Required spectrum sensing sample is derived from required false alarm, detection probability and minimum required SNR of primary user (PU). If we make clustering and minimize the required transmission boundary of secondary user (SU), we can relax the required PU SNR for spectrum sensing because the required SNR for PU signal sensing is related to transmission range of SU. Therefore we can achieve efficient throughput of CRN by minimizing spectrum sensing sample. For this, we design the tradeoff between gain and loss could be obtained from clustering, according to the size of cluster members through game theory and simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we characterise the joint interference alignment and power allocation strategies for a K-user multicell multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Gaussian interference channel. We consider a MIMO interference channel with a blind interference alignment through staggered antenna switching on the receiver. We explore the power allocation and the feasibility condition for cooperative cell-edge (CE) mobile users (MUs) by assuming that the channel state information is unknown. The new insight behind the transmission strategy of the proposed scheme is premeditated (randomly generated transmission strategy) and partial cooperative CE MUs, where the transmitter is equipped with a conventional antenna, the receiver is equipped with a reconfigurable multimode antenna (staggered antenna switching pattern), and the receiver switches between preset T modes. Our proposed scheme assists and aligns the desired and interference signals to cancel the common interference signals, since the received signal must have a corresponding independent signal subspace. The sum capacity for a K-user multicell MIMO Gaussian interference channel with reconfigurable multimode antennas is completely characterised.

In this paper, we propose an efficient method to create clusters of geographically distributed base stations which cooperatively transmit signals in cellular mobile communication systems. The proposed method utilizes a sequential selection approach to choose candidate base stations which can provide maximum weighted sum-rate gain when they participate in the cooperative transmission with the existing cluster. In particular, the proposed method limits the maximum number of base stations in a cluster by considering the system operational and implementation complexities. Moreover, the combinations of clusters dynamically change along with variations of channel environments. Through computer simulations, performance of the proposed method is verified by comparing with the non-cooperative transmission method and the static clustering method. Numerical result shows that the proposed sequential selection based clustering method is especially advantageous for the performance improvement of lower percentile users in terms of average throughput, and thus the proposed method can effectively improve the fairness among users.
