Recently, as a new ICT trend, emerging chatbots are actively introduced in the field of finance. Chatbot conducts services through the interaction of communication with users. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of interaction dialogue type on the efficiency, usability, sensibility and perceived security of financial service chatbot. Based on theoretical considerations, I have divided into closed conversation, open conversation, and mixed conversation type based on the conversation style based on the implementation method of chatbot. Three types of Financial Chatbot prototypes were made and the experiments were conducted after account inquiry, account transfer, Q & A financial task execution. As a result of experimental research analysis, chatbot's interaction dialogue type was found to affect efficiency and usability. Users have shown that the interaction of closed conversations and mixed conversations is an intuitive interface that allows financial services to be easily manipulated without error. This study will be used as a resource to improve the user experience that requires deep understanding of financial chatbot users who should consider both the emotional element of artificial intelligence that provides services through natural conversation and the functional elements that perform financial business can be.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand conversations and to identify typical conversational problems between nurses and patients with dementia. Method: A conversation analysis method was used. The data was collected in a geriatric institutional setting, using a videotape recorder, and transcribed. The transcribed data was analyzed in terms of expressions, contents, and relationships to identify communicative problems and their resolutions, Results: Among a total of 532 episodes, 440(82.7%) we're identified as nurse-involved episodes. In addition, 66 of the 440 episodes were selected based on the significance of the conversation. The communicative problems between nurses and patients in terms of expressions were identified as 'directive and authoritative expressions', 'emotional and competitive expressions', 'evasive and on-looking expressions', and 'excessive use of title only', such as calling them granny or grandpa without proper names. In terms of content and relationships, 'lack of themes in psychosocial areas' and 'nurse-led relations' were identified respectively as communicative problems. Conclusion: The results of this study will provide substantial guidelines for nurses in caring for elderly patients with dementia by deeply understanding linguistic structures and problems of everyday conversations between nurses and patients with dementia.
This study investigated dialog sequence prototype that was the structure of communication, which could be shown in family counseling conversation between therapists and clients. The study was intended to review the process stages of family counseling through literature review, and divided functional phases into 'atmosphere formation phase', 'family evaluation phase', 'persuasion phase of cognitive change', 'confirmation phase of change experience', and 'termination phase'. The study selected two family therapists and 30 clients for research objects. They allowed data collections for the study after the explanation about the research objects. The transcribers were trained by the consent of transcription, which used particular symbol for verbal and nonverbal contents in conversation. The transcribed data were analyzed by dialog grammar, one of the linguistic dialog analysis method developed by Hundsnurscher(1994). This study described and explained dialog sequence prototype that displayed in conversation between family therapist and client through the total sessions in family therapy. The study found three types of dialog sequence prototype in 'atmosphere formation phase', eight types in 'family evaluation phase', nine types in 'persuasion phase of cognitive change', eight types in 'confirmation phase of change experience', and eight types of 'termination phase'. Even if the dialog sequence prototype mentioned above cannot be applied to the process of family therapy at its face value, these findings may contribute to beginners in counseling and graduate students majoring family therapy to do practice in counseling. The research has a limitation in which the study investigated dialog sequence prototype of conversation in two persons. Future research needs to include dialog sequence prototype of conversation among more than three persons. Specifically, when a family therapist do family counseling, he/she treats more than three family members as usual. Therefore, the researchers hope that future study investigates dialog sequence prototype between therapist and client, client and client, among therapist, client and other family members.

The purpose of this study is twofold: (i) to develop a teaching and learning plan and practical performance assessment tools for the improvement of teenager-parent communication and relationships as well as explore their effects on the communication in the everyday family life; and (ii) to find the underlying problems of teenager- parent communication through conversation analysis and to provide a improved dialogue model. We provided the experimental group with a performance task of communication training between teenagers and their parents in the real family situation while the control group practiced communication skills in a learning situation. However for both classes, before and after performance tasks were equally provided. The experimental group exhibited a longer conversation time with their parents, better communication skills, and higher degrees of relational satisfaction than the control group. Conversation analysis revealed that the experimental group reduced the use of blocking techniques in the teenager-parent conversations more than the control group, and all so raised the frequency of functional communications more than the control group. In both areas of communication in the experimental group was significantly improved, Most notably, a problem-solving case through no-lose conflict resolution methods was effective, succeeding by 70% in the e experimental group and 43.3% in the control group. Parents use blocking techniques like admonition, lecturing, blaming. sarcastic remarking, ordering and so forth, while teenagers use dispute, avoidance, blaming, and teasing in this order. The communication problems during the conversation process, teenagers' evasive and rebellious way of speaking instigates adverse communication responses from parents, so their conversation tends to unfold as ambiguous evasion opposed to: inquiring or evasion by short answers vs. ordering-preaching, or disputing vs. criticizing-making sarcastic, disputing vs. disputing-teaching, and criticizing vs. criticizing.
The present study examines various pedagogical functions of conversational repair strategies employed by the teacher in the ESL classroom. As part of interactional resources, conversational repair is defined as the treatment of trouble occurring in interactive language use and is originally designed to deal with communication problems. Research on conversational repair has focused on ordinary conversation and organization of repair practices. Studies on more pedagogical functions of repair sequences initiated by the teacher are very few. The data were from five hours of ESL structure classes in an intensive English institute at a large U.S. university. They were closely transcribed and microanalyzed following the conversation-analytic methodology. The analysis found that ESL teachers' repair techniques not only resolve communication problems but they are also designed to serve several important instructional purposes of teaching the target language. They include creating opportunities of comprehensible input, inducing modified comprehensible output from students, guiding and controlling student output, and initiating corrections by initiating repair.
This study aims to select eight books to see if "potential complement" is sufficiently acquired and properly used in Chinese conversation textbooks, explore the reasons and problems of learners' errors through analysis, and briefly suggest textbook compilation and teaching. Twelve criteria were established and analyzed, including the concept and format of "potential complement", layout order, location of objects, three types of forms, distinction from auxiliary verb "能" and distinction between "能+V+結果補語". Some of the results of the study are simply as follows. All eight textbooks focus only on "possibility," missing an important part of "the impact of objective conditions" that the term "potential complement" does not contain. This is certainly enough to cause confusion for learners. A poor understanding of the concept of "potential complement" results in identifying it with the possible auxiliary verb "能", and incorrect mixing because it does not know exactly what the difference is. Most of the textbooks compiled in China place a high importance on "potential complement". This means that Chinese people often use "potential complement" in real life. on the other hand relatively Korean textbooks do not deal with "potential complement" relatively importantly.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the types of leisure activity and Korean form of geriatric depression score in the elderly. Methods: We surveyed elderly (>60 years old) people who participated in leisure activities using interviews in Bukgu district, Daegu city. Data collection was performed from 1 - 31 May, 2008. The data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program, which was used for descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis. Results: Common leisure activities scored 'often' and 'very often' were family conversations, offspring visiting, eating out, plant cultivation, entertainment, conversation, walking or jogging, and TV or radio. It was investigated at the rate of 19.2% in the moderate depression and 8.3% in the severely depression. Depression positively associated with newspaper or magazine, family conversation, offspring visiting, social service, movie & theater, exercise and tour. Conclusion: Most elderly people surveyed indicated they were depressed, which should recommend significant leisure activities for elderly to reduce depression in Bukgu district, Daegu city.
The present paper aims at comparing the two modes of CMC - synchronous and asynchronous - in terms of discourse markers used in turn-initial positions. It further attempts to examine the viability and limitations of these two modes of CMC in fostering EFL learners' face-to-face conversation skills. For these purposes, the present study analyzed 33 Korean EFL learners' Web chat and E-mail exchange data. Discourse markers in the participants' Web chat transcripts and those in their E-mail transcripts were identified and then compared in terms of their frequency and functions. The analysis revealed that the participants show difference in their preference for discourse markers depending on the modes of CMC. Also, the functions of discourse markers used for Web chat showed were strikingly different from those for e-mail. Especially, e-mail discourse markers revealed greater discrepancy from the markers in face-to-face conversation. The differences were found to be attributable to the time factor involved with the turn-taking systems of the two modes of CMC, especially the degree of instantaneousness in their turn-taking. Findings suggest that the turn taking skills and discourse marker use in CMC is not applicable to face-to-face conversation contexts. Pedagogical implications are discussed.
Personal service robots, a type of social robot that has emerged with the aging population and technological advancements, are undergoing a transformation centered around technologies that can extend independent living for older adults in their homes. For older adults to accept and use social robot innovations in their daily lives on a long-term basis, it is crucial to have a deeper understanding of user perspectives, contexts, and emotions. This research aims to comprehensively understand older adults by utilizing a mixed-method approach that integrates quantitative and qualitative data. Specifically, we employ the Van Kaam phenomenological methodology to group conversations into nine categories based on emotional cues and conversation participants as key variables, using voice conversation records between older adults and social robots. We then personalize the conversations based on frequency and weight, allowing for user segmentation. Additionally, we conduct profiling analysis using demographic data and health indicators obtained from pre-survey questionnaires. Furthermore, based on the analysis of conversations, we perform K-means cluster analysis to classify older adults into three groups and examine their respective characteristics. The proposed model in this study is expected to contribute to the growth of businesses related to understanding users and deriving insights by providing a methodology for segmenting older adult s, which is essential for the future provision of social robots with caregiving functions in everyday life.
Objectives: This study observes how providing family support - financial, emotional, and instrumental - is related to depression in babyboom women. Method: I analysed data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families 5th wave, collected by the Korean Women's Development Institute. The analysis was conducted using regression, t-test, Chi-square test, frequency analysis, and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: Financial support for grown-up children, either married or unmarried, increases depression in babyboom women. In the dimension of instrumental support, caring for grandchildren reduces babyboom women's depression. It implies that contact with grandchildren is perceived as an emotional support rather than a physical burden. The results of this study also show that babyboom women are comforted by living with their own parents, but not by living with parents-in-law. The most impressive observation, however, is in the dimension of emotional support, which showed that the conversation with elderly parents reduces baby-boom women's depression, but that the conversation with married children increases it. The opposite directions in the effects seem to be related to the subjects of the conversations. The subjects of the conversation with children are mostly about problems and agenda of the children, while those with elderly parents are mainly about parents' health and care for each other. Conclusions: The results of the analyses suggest that babyboom women should become less involved with their grown-up children's lives. It also calls for the societal efforts to be put into building up the support system, especially for eco-boom generation, to reduce babyboomer's burden of supporting the children.
