  • Many control schemes have been proposed for flow-level traffic control. However, flow-level traffic control is implemented only in limited areas such as traffic monitoring and traffic control at edge nodes. No clear solution for end-to-end architecture has been proposed. Scalability and the lack of a business model are major problems for deploying end-to-end flow-level control architecture. This paper introduces an end-to-end transport architecture and a scalable control mechanism to support the various flow-level QoS requests from applications.

  • We report on the bias stability characteristics of transparent ZnO thin film transistors (TFTs) under visible light illumination. The transfer curve shows virtually no change under positive gate bias stress with light illumination, while it shows dramatic negative shifts under negative gate bias stress. The major mechanism of the bias stability under visible illumination of our ZnO TFTs is thought to be the charge trapping of photo-generated holes at the gate insulator and/or insulator/channel interface.

  • We present a simple semiconductor process to fabricate nanogap arrays for application in molecular electronics and nano-bio electronics using a combination of freestanding silicon nanowires and angle evaporation. The gap distance is modulated using the height of the silicon dioxide, the width of the Si nanowires, and the evaporation angle. In addition, we fabricate and apply the nanogap arrays in single-electron transistors using DNA-linked Au nanoparticles for the detection of DNA hybridization.

  • In this paper, we present the fabrication of 40 Gb/s traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator-integrated laser (TW-EML) modules. A selective area growth method is first employed in 40 Gb/s EML fabrication to simultaneously provide active layers for lasers and modulators. The 3 dB bandwidth of a TW-EML module is measured to be 34 GHz, which is wider than that of a lumped EML module. The 40 Gb/s non-return-to-zero eye diagram shows clear openings with an average output power of +0.5 dBm.

  • A novel bumping material, which is composed of a resin and Sn3Ag0.5Cu (SAC305) solder power, has been developed for the maskless solder-on-pad technology of the fine-pitch flip-chip bonding. The functions of the resin are carrying solder powder and deoxidizing the oxide layer on the solder power for the bumping on the pad on the substrate. At the same time, it was designed to have minimal chemical reactions within the resin so that the cleaning process after the bumping on the pad can be achieved. With this material, the solder bump array was successfully formed with pitch of 150 ${\mu}m$ in one direction.

  • This letter presents a CMOS RF front-end operating in a subthreshold region for low-power Band-III mobile TV applications. The performance and feasibility of the RF front-end are verified by integrating with a low-IF RF tuner fabricated in a 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The RF front-end achieves the measured noise figure of 4.4 dB and a wide gain control range of 68.7 dB with a maximum gain of 54.7 dB. The power consumption of the RF front-end is 13.8 mW from a 1.2 V supply.

  • There is a growing interest in convergence. National R & D is also providing various policies and institutional support to promote convergence research. Convergence research, however, does not clearly specify its characteristics at the academic and government levels. This research proceeds with the process of collecting, refining, analyzing, modeling, verifying and visualizing national R & D data through the National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS). The method is to derive the convergence research characteristics and to derive through text mining, focusing on the unstructured information of national R & D project data. The study confirmed that there was a difference in perception between the definition of converged research and the research site. In order to improve this, the research suggested that convergence among research subjects, collaboration among research topics reflecting various backgrounds and characteristics of researchers, and analysis of characteristics of convergence research using information were suggested in the process of establishing convergence policy.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the factors affecting the research results of humanities and social sciences based convergence research. For this purpose, personal characteristics, research environment factor, researcher factor, research team factor, and support agency factor were set as influence factors of convergence research. Survey was conducted for researchers who are conducting research on humanities and social sciences based convergence research. As a result, it was found that factors influencing research on humanities and social sciences based convergence were researcher factor, supporting agency factor, research environment factor(major), and the influence of these factors on convergence research result was 51.6%. The implications of the research results are as follows: First, when performing the convergence research based on humanities and social science, individual factor of the researcher is more important than the factor of the research team in the performance of convergence research. Second, the support organization can improve the convergence research result through continuous management of convergence research results. Third, the research field (major) of the researcher also influences the performance of the convergence research. Therefore, the research field (major) should be considered important in the formation of the convergence research team.
