Asthma is the most common chronic illness to affect children and is a major cause of morbidity in adults, affecting 4~17% of children and 7.3~10.1% of adults, which translates to approximately 300 million people globally. This article reviews recently published data over the past 1~2 years on asthma, and covers the 3 aspects of current advancement for the diagnosis of severe asthma, including the controversy to long-acting bronchodilator treatment for treatment of asthma, and the role of long-acting anticholinergics treatment in asthma patients.

The incidence of myasthenia gravis in patients with thymomas has been reported from 10 to 50 percent, and the controversy ranges from 8-15 percent. This is the report of myasthenia grayis combined with benign thymoma and obtained relatively good result through surgical treatment at the department of thoracic surgery, National Medical center. The thymoma was mixed type and benign nature. Post operatively this patient was developed myasthenia crisis, and treated with mechanical respirator, and recurred the symptoms about 2months later, but well controlled with medical treatment.

This article will compare the following visual categories: visual angle, distinguishable details, sensitivity, and dynamic range. These categories are often considered within the subject of the maximum deviation from the camera eye, an issue which has generated much controversy. Other characteristics such as depth of field, three-dimensional vision, white balance and color, are not considered in this article.

Controversy remains over whether the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) virus may have infectivity during the incubation period before the onset of symptoms. The author had the opportunity to examine the infectivity of COVID-19 during the incubation period by conducting an epidemiological survey on a confirmed patient who had visited Jeju Island during the incubation period. The epidemiological findings support the claim that the COVID-19 virus does not have infectivity during the incubation period.

Digital therapeutics (DTx) are emerging as a novel solution to improve lifestyle and prevent non-communicable diseases. Obesity is a complex, multi-factorial, chronic condition that requires patient-centered lifestyle modification. DTx, such as mobile applications and wearables, may offer easily accessible, efficient, and personalized care in the field of obesity and metabolic diseases. Yet, there is controversy over its clinical usefulness. This review will provide a comprehensive overview of DTx, including its potential role and current limitation in obesity care, based on recent literature.

The pathophysiology of rotator cuff tears and the progression of asymptomatic tears to symptomatic tears are yet unclear and much controversy. It is likely to involve a number of factors such as a genetic predisposition, extrinsic impingement from structures surrounding the cuff and intrinsic degeneration from changes within the tendon itself. Degenerative changes in the rotator cuff with aging seem to be related to the anatomic and mechanical environment of the rotator cuff. The histopathologic appearance of rotator cuff tendon rupture specimens demonstrates a consequence of degenerative changes at the site of tendon insertion into bone. It weakens the tensile strength of the tendon. Is the process of degeneration intrinsic or extrinsic in nature? I suggest that degeneration is intrinsic and not caused by extrinsic factors. Even though, rotator cuff tear may be secondary to multiple factors, I believe that primary cause of rotator cuff tears is preexisting degenerative change.
