Maneuver Analysis of Full-Vehicle Featuring Electrorheological Suspension and Electrorheological Brake (ER 현가장치 및 ER 브레이크를 적용한 전체차량의 거동분석)

  • This paper presents a maneuver analysis of a full-vehicle featuring electrorheological (ER) suspension and ER brake. In order to achieve this goal, an ER damper and an ER valve pressure modulator are devised to construct ER suspension and ER brake systems, respectively. After formulating the governing equations of the ER damper and ER valve pressure modulator, they are designed and manufactured for a middle-sized passenger vehicle, and their field-dependent characteristics are experimentally evaluated. The governing equation of motion for the full-vehicle is then established and integrated with the governing equations of the ER suspension and ER brake. Subsequently, a sky-hook controller for the ER suspension and a sliding mode controller for the ER brake are formulated and implemented. Control performances such as vertical displacement and braking distance of vehicle are evaluated under various driving conditions through computer simulations.

  • This study deals with progressive collapse of a structure retrofitted with MR dampers. In order to assess their effect of mitigation which prevents progressive collapse, control force ratio is defined by friction force of MR dampers divided by external force. First, simple model of a structure with MR dampers is suggested. Using the model, exact solution with the control force ratio is obtained. When and where the system is stopped is predicted by the derived solution. Through the dissipated energy by MR dampers during collapse event, equivalent damping ratio is derived. Finally, comparison of exact and equivalent solutions is presented.

  • In this study, a new knocking control algorithm was developed using the knock threshold value auto-correction algorithm. This algorithm uses the Fast Fourier Transform9FFT) method by measuring cylinder block vibration signals of a 1498 cc four-cylinder spark ignition engine. The experimental results show the proposed knock control algorithm provides improved performance compared to existing methods. The results also show that the proposed FFT algorithm provides real-time adjustment of the knock threshold value.

  • This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of plate system using electromagnetic force actuator. The transfer function from the force input to the bending displacement was obtained via modal analysis results. Control algorithm are proposed and implemented on the experimental setups to show their efficacy. In this paper, the genetic algorithm is used to design a $H_2$ controller. Effectiveness and performance of the designed controller were verified by simulation and experiment results.

  • Serviceability of buildings is affect by excessive acceleration experienced at the top floors in wind storms that may cause discomfort to the occupants. Tuned liquid damper(TLD) and multiple tuned liquid damper(MTLD) are passive control devices that consists of rigid tank filled with liquid to suppress the vibration of structures. This TLD and MTLD are attributable to several potential advantages - low costs; easy to install in existing structures; effective even for small-amplitude vibrations. In this paper, the behavior of TLD and MTLD are investigated analytically and wind tunnel test of high-frequency force balance.

  • The role of suspension system in tracked vehicles cannot be overestimated because the driving and running conditions of such vehicles are very severe. It reduces the vibration and shock which are generated by road profile in running condition. As the tracked vehicle's running speed increases, more undesired vibrations can be generated by road profile particularly in the situation of field running.   • Magnetic bearings have been adopted to support the rotor by electromagnetic force without mechanical contact and have many advantages. The application of the magnetic bearings have become more and more widespread in recent years. But magnetic bearings require feedback control for stable operation because they are inherently open loop unstable systems. In this study, H infinity controller has been applied for rotor-magnetic bearing system for vibration control. The result showed that H infinity controller has better performance than PID controller through simulations.

  • 본 연구에서는 로봇조작기를 강체부와 유연한 외팔보로 이루어진 모델로 설정 한 후 확장된 Hamilton의 원리를 적용하여 제어계의 운동방정식을 유도하였다. 계를 유한개의 제어 모드와 잔류 모드로 구분하고, 제어 모드에 대해 최적제어를 수행하기 위해 관측기를 설계하였으며, 진동에 관련된 측정 불가능한 상태변수를 추정하였다. 분석과 검토는 서보모터가 모든 제어를 담당하는 방식과 서보모터의 제어 방식에 작동 기를 추가시켜 병행 제어하는 다입출력 방식으로 구별하여 수행하였다.

  • In this work, we propose a new type of HDD suspension featuring shape memory ally (SMA) actuator in order to prevent the contact between the slider and disk. The principal design parameters are obtained from the modal analysis using finite element analysis, and then the dynamic model is established to formulate the control scheme for Non-Contact Start/Stop mode drive. Subsequently, a robust Η$_{\infty}$, control algorithm is designed by integrating experimentally-obtained SMA actuator dynamics to the proposed suspension system. The controller is empirically realized and control results for different load/unload profiles are presented in time domain. In addition, the contact signal between the slider and disk is measured by the electrical resistance method.istance method.

  • This paper reports the performance and the Algorithm of an 1/3-octave band spectrum control system. The system is developed to provide various required spectrums in a high intensity acoustic chamber. The required spectrums, which usually comes from launch vehicle specification, starts from 25㎐ band and ends 10,000㎐. Short settling time is required to guarantee the safety of test objects and reduce the amount of operating gas. (omitted)
