  • In this paper, we propose an asynchronous MAC protocol to minimize energy usage and to maximize data throughput for a wireless sensor network in multi channel environments. Our proposed SPMC-MAC (Slim Preamble Multi-Channel Media Access Control) adopts the preamble sliming mechanism proposed in [6] that takes advantage of the knowledge about the wakeup time of the receiver node. The preamble contains the receiver's ID and a randomly selected channel ID for data communication, and it is transmitted over a dedicated common channel. The power control has the benefit of keeping an appropriate number of nodes with the communication range, resulting in reduced collision and interference. We compare our SPMC-MAC and X-MAC extensively in terms of energy consumption and throughput using mathematical analysis and simulation.

  • A simulated network protocol provides the capability of distributed simulation to a generic simulator. Through this, full coverage of management of data and service handling among separated simulators is achieved. The distributed simulation environment is much more conducive to handling simulation load balancing and hazard treatment than a standalone computer. According to the simulated network protocol, one simulator takes on the role of server and the other simulators take on the role of client, and client is controlled by server. The purpose of the simulated network protocol is to seamlessly connect multiple simulator instances into a single simulation environment. This paper presents the development of a simulated network (simNetwork) that provides the capability of distributed simulation to a generic simulator (GenSim), which is a software simulator of satellites that has been developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute since 2010, to use as a flight software validation bench for future satellite development.

  • we present more efficient method of a medium access for real-time ubiquitous sensor networks. Proposed MAC protocol is like the randomized CSMA/CA protocol, but unlike previous legacy protocols, it does not use a time-varying contention window from which a node randomly picks a transmission slot. To reduce the latency for the delivery of event reports from sensor nodes, we carefully decide to select a fixed-size contention window with non-uniform probability distribution of transmitting in each slot. We show that the proposed method can offer up to several times latency reduction compared to legacy of IEEE 802.11 as the size of the sensor network scales up to 256 nodes using a widely-used network simulation package, NS-2. We finally show that proposed MAC scheme comes close to meet bounds on the best latency being achieved by a decentralized CSMA-based MAC protocol for real-time ubiquitous sensor networks which is sensitive to latency.

  • For high density SoC design, on-chip communication based on bus interconnection encounters bandwidth limitation while an NoC(Network-on-Chip) approach suffers from unacceptable complexity in its Implementation. This paper introduces a new on-chip communication protocol, SNP (SoC Network Protocol) to overcome these problems. In SNP, conventional on-chip bus signals are categorized into three groups, control, address, and data and only one set of wires is used to transmit all three groups of signals, resulting in the dramatic decrease of the number of wires. SNP efficiently supports master-master communication as well as master-slave communication with symmetric channels. A sequencing rule of signal groups is defined as a part of SNP specification and a phase-restoration feature is proposed to avoid redundant signals transmitted repeatedly over back-to-back transactions. Simulation results show that SNP provides about the same bandwidth with only $54\%$ of wires when compared with AMBA AHB.

  • According to the computerization of railway signaling systems, the interface link between the signaling systems has been replaced by the digital communication channel. At the same time, the importance of the communication link is more pronounced than in the past. In this paper, new network-based protocol for Korean railway signaling has designed between CTC and SCADA system, and the overview of designed protocol is briefly represented. Using the informal method for specifying the communication protocol, a little ambiguity may be contained in the protocol. To clear the ambiguity contained in the designed protocol, we use LTS model to design the protocol for this interface link between CTC and SCADA, the LTS is an intermediate model for encoding the operational behavior of processes. And then, we verify automatically and formally the safety and the liveness properties through the model checking method. Especially, the modal ${\mu}$-calculus, which is a highly expressive method of temporal logic that has been applied to the model checking method. It will be expected to increase the safety, reliability and efficiency of maintenance of the signaling systems by using the designed protocol for railway signaling in Korea.

  • BACnet is an international standard communication protocol especially designed for building automation and control systems. In this paper, a reference model of network management system for BACnet is proposed and its implementation method is introduced. In order to evaluate the feasibility and validity of proposed network management system, it is applied to a real experimental model of BACnet network system. Proposed network management system complies with standard BACnet protocol and its functions are implemented in software without hardware dependencies so that it can be applied not only to newly installed BACnet system but also to already installed BACnet system by software upgrade. The network management system and its implementation method introduced in this paper will help BACnet-based automation system to be managed efficiently and they can be practically applied in real BACnet-based automation systems.

  • Personal robot consist of various modules that have independent functions. Because personal robot has requirement that support various construction for user's tendency. Therefore, Middleware mechanism at support not only personal robot's main functional element but also embedded modules functional elements is required. Each module have various heterogeneous network interfaces and variable services and variables. Therefore, Middleware must support these various network interfaces. This paper, pointed in Controller Area Network(CAN) inreface that usually used in embedded system for control. For connect various heterogeneous network interfaces (Ethernet, RS232 etc..), it is necessary to modify bagic CAN frame format. And also make some kind of BUS topology for CAN network.

  • In order to protect personal information and important information (confidential information, sales information, user information, etc.) in the internal network, companies and organizations apply encryption to the Server-To-Server or Server-To-Client communication section, And are experiencing difficulties due to the increasing number of known attacks and intelligent security attacks. In order to apply the existing S / W encryption technology, it is necessary to modify the application. In the financial sector, "Comprehensive Measures to Prevent the Recurrence of Personal Information Leakage in the Domestic Financial Sector" has been issued, and standard guidelines for financial computing security have been laid out, and it is required to expand the whole area of encryption to the internal network. In addition, even in environments such as U-Health and Smart Grid, which are based on the Internet of Things (IoT) environment, which is increasingly used, security requirements for each collection gateway and secure transmission of the transmitted and received data The requirements of the secure channel for the use of the standard are specified in the standard. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a secure encryption algorithm through mutual authentication and grouping for each node through H / W based Network Control Server (NCS) applicable to internal system and IoT environment provided by enterprises and organizations. We propose a protocol design that can set the channel.
