The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of sacroiliac joint mobilization and lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises on the equilibrium ability. The subjects were consisted of ninety healthy adult two decade(43 females. 47 males; mean aged 22.1) from 20 to 29. All subjects randomly assigned to the control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group. Lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group received lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises for 30 minutes, sacroiliac joint mobilization group received sacroiliac joint mobilization for 2-3 minutes per day and three times a week during 3 weeks period. Active balancer(SAKAI EAB-100) was used to measure equilibrium ability. All measurements of each subjects were measured at pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. The WPL of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment(p>.05), but significantly reduced after 10 days and post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of WPL was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group according to pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). 2. The RA of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment(p>.05), but significantly reduced after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of RA was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group, lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises group according to pre-experiment, after 10 days, and post-experiment(p<.05). Conclusionally these data suggest that a 3-week SI joint mobilization and lumbopelvic stabilizing exercises improved equilibrium. Additional randomized controlled trials to more fully investigate treatment effects and factors that may mediate these effects are needed.
This study was to investigate the effects of Bee-venom Treatment on the monosodium iodoacetate(MIA)- induced osteoarthritis in rats. Arthritis was induced by injection of MIA(0.5 mg) into knee joints of rats. Arthritic rats were divided into control(n=8) and treated(n=8) group. Control group was injected with normal saline once a day for 20 days, while treated group was injected with Bee-venom extract once a day for same duration. Body weights were measured at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 days after injection. At the end of experiment, gross and histopathological examination on the articular cartilages of the knee joints were performed. Proteoglycan contents of articular cartilages were analysed by safranine O staining method. The contents of $TNF-{\alpha}$, $IL-1{\beta}$ and IL-6 in synovial fluids were analysed by ELISA method. And also, COX-2 and iNOS immunohistochemical examination on the knee joints were performed. Body weights of the treated group were increased compared with control group at 20 days after injection. Grossly, the severity of osteoarthritis in the treated group were alleviated compared with control group. PG contents in articular cartilages of the treated group were significantly increased compared with control group. Histopathologically, degenerative and necrotic lesion of articular cartilages in the treated group were alleviated compared with those of the control group. $TNF-{\alpha}$ contents in synovial fluids of the treated group were decreased compared with control group. Positive reactions of COX-2 in chondrocytes and synovial membranes of the treated group were decreased compared with the control group. On the basis of these results, we concluded that Bee-venom treatment has anti-arthritic effects on the monosodium iodoacetate-induced osteoarthritis in rats. And it's effects were related with reduced secretion of $TNF-{\alpha}$ and COX-2 from osteoarthritic chondrocytes and synovial membranes.
Recently, the rate of cultivation of such as hairy vetch was increased as a way of reducing the current soil problem. However, the occurrence of insect pest such as bean bugs, Riptortus pedestris, were increased in the field of green manure crops and their injuries to hairy vetch were observed. While minimizing insecticide use for the environmental friendly agriculture, the control of the bean bug can be utilized environmental friendly agricultural materials (EFAMs) in the green manure crop fields. The control effects of some EFAMs and most of chemical insecticides to the bean bug were significantly high. As a result of direct spray of EFAM that contained sophora extract or neem extract, the control effects of six EFAMs were higher than 70% at 120 hours after treatments. Among them, three EFAMs were showed over 90% of control effects. On the other hand, most of chemical insecticides were showed 100% of control effect against the bean bug at 48 hours after treatment. As mortality effects of EFAMs were sloely observed until 120h after treatment, we must use selected EFAMs at the beginnibgs of occurrence and entrance in the field of green manure for effective control of bean bugs.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of preoperative pain control education on the pain control barrier, postoperative pain and pain control satisfaction in gynecological patients. Method: The study was a quasi-experimental research design. There were 58 subjects who were admitted for gynecological surgery to D University Hospital in B city. Pain control education was provided individually to the experimental group one day before their operation day for 20 minutes with the 'Pain Control Guide Book' in the patient's admission room. The education book was made by researchers based on pain management references and patient interviews. For assessing the pain control barrier, a simplified version of Barriers Questionnaire was used, postoperative pain was assessed on a numeric scale(0-10) and satisfaction of pain control was assessed by one question. Results: The pain control barrier(F=15.828, p<.001) and the post pain score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group. In addition, pain control satisfaction of the experimental group(t=3.612, p<.001) was higher than the control group's. Conclusion: With the above results, preoperative pain control education could be an effective nursing intervention for pain control of surgical patients.
Jet flows applied tangential to a foil surface near the leading and/or trailing edges increase the lift of the foil by delaying the separation also known as the Coanda effects. Many experimental and numerical studies have proven the effectiveness of Coanda effects on circulation control and the effects have been found to be useful in practical application in many aerodynamics fields. Most of the previous works have studied the effects of the jet blowing near the trailing edges and investigated the influence of jet momentum on lift. A few experimental studies, however, focused on the separation bubble that develops near the leading edge and applied jet flow the edge to remove the bubble but only to find decrease in lift. In the present paper, a Coanda foil of 20% thickness ellipse with modified rounded leading and trailing edges was investigated, and the flow around the foil was numerically studied. The blowing around the leading edge only decreased the lift, as the experiments showed, but the suction considerably increased the lift.
This study aimed to analyse the effects of self-control and impulsiveness of college students on smart phone addition and whether self-esteem has mediating effects on them. For the purposes, this study interviewed 4-year college students in Gwangju City with the use of a questionnaire and 314 copies of the responses were used for a final analysis. The data collected was analysed with the use of SPSS 22.0 and the results are presented as follows: First, behavior impulsiveness has a positive effect on self-esteem and smart phone addiction. Second, self-esteem had a positive effect on smart phone addiction. Third, it was discovered that behavior impulsiveness had a positive effect on smart phone addiction through an analysis of mediating effects while self-esteem had an indirect effect on it. Therefore, it was suggested that more care should be paid on smart phone addiction and development of programs against it should be facilitated.
To investigate the effects of Ixeris sonchifolia Hance diets on serum and hepatic lipid levles and enzyme activities in rats administered with ethanol chronically, Sprague-Dawley male rats were AIN-76 diet(control), control diet plus ethanol, control plus Ixeris sonchifolia Hance diet, or control plus Ixeris sonchifolia Hance diet plus ethanol for 30 days. Ixeris sonchifolia Hance diets significantly decreased the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, and GOT levels that were increased due to the chronic ethanol administration. In addition, Ixeris sonchifolia Hance diets significantly decreased the liver triglyceride and total lipid levels that were increased due to the ethanol administration. The present findings, combined with previous data showing differences in the effects of cabbage diets having a high or a low level of GABA on the lipid levels and the serum Y-GPT activity of rats(Cha and OH[2000] J. Korean Soc. Food Sci. Nutr. 29, 500-505) raise the possibility that GABA in plants could have a nytraceutical role in the recovery of chronic alcohol-related diseases. Electrical characteristics of split-gate flash EEPROM with triple polysilicon is investigated in terms of effects of floating gate and offset gate. In order to search for t the effects of offset gate on programming characteristics, threshold voltage and drain current are studied with variation of control gate voltage. The programming process is believed to depend on vertical and horizontal electric field as well as offset gate length. The erase and program threshold voltage are found to be almost constant with variation of control gate voltage above 12V, while endurance test indicates degradation of program threshold voltage. With increase of offset gate length, program threshold voltage becomes smaller and the drain source voltage just after program under constant control gate voltage becomes higher.
This paper intends to compare and illustrate the feedback effects of the state feedback scheme to a positional control system by the use of the state observer. As a case study, the dynamic properties of a proposed positional control system lie derived, first, and the design of an optimal state feedback control system by the actual states is intended as a primary case study. For the illustration of the feedback effects with the asymptotic state observer, unobservability of some state variables are assumed and an optimal state feedback design is carried by using the estimated states which is reconstructed through the observer. That is, when some of the states of the system to be controlled are not avalable, an observer is constructed to estimate the unaccessable states. Adigital computer is used for the comparative study of the feedback effects in both cases. The resultant response of the proposed system have shown quite reasonable satisfaction oncontrol quality.
This experiment was performed in order to study the effects of haepyoyijintang on the injured tracheal tissue induced $SO_{2}$ in rats. Healthy adult male rats weighting about 250g were divided into 4 groups-the Normal group, the Control group, the group of Haepyoyijintang administration for 5days after $SO_{2}$gas exposure (Sample I), and the group of Haepyoyijintang adiministration for 10 days before and for 5days after $SO_{2}$ gas exposure (Sample II). The results were obtained as follows; 1. In the trachea Control group, the lesion of the ciliated epithelium was and the mucus secretion of the respiratory tract was increased iginificantly. 2. In the trachea of SampleIgroup, the lesion of the ciliated epithelium and the mucus secretion of the respiratory tract were decreased compared with Control group. 3. In the trachea of SampleIIgroup, the lesion of the ciliated epithelium and the mucus secretion of the respiratory tract were decreased compared with Control and Sample Igroup. According to the above results, Haepyoyijintang has significant effects on the injuried tracheal tissu caused by $SO_{2}$ in rats.
