  • Purpose - Consumers have memories of their past time that they have not experienced. So consumers want to experience the past time and get pleasure through historical contents such as movies or dramas. This is because the re-created the past time sets the identity of the consumers who live today, and in the process, it give consumers emotional comfort. Consumers do not remember and sympathize with all of their historical time. In general, consumers remember the time that their communities are proud of. As s result, historical content is seen as a hero, and through that, consumers can check their identity. Also consumers experience positive emotions such as self-esteem, gratitude and pride through identification with heroes. That is, through historical contents, consumers can identify themselves and replace the current negative emotions with positive ones. Therefore, this study presents narrative identity and historical nostalgia that can affect positive evaluation of historical contents and suggest the factors the can induce such effects. This study was conducted to explain what the consumption effect of historical content is from a marketing perspective and what constitutes a component of historical content as a factor driving this effect. Research design, data, and methodology - This study has developed a questionnaire with 8 Hypotheses. The Films ('Masquerade(2012)', 'Roaring Current(2014)', 'Assassination(2015)', 'The Age of Shadow(2016)') and dramas('Six Flying Dragon(2015-2016)', 'Mr. Sunshine(2018-2019)') were used as experimental contents. 268 college students participated in this empirical study, and structural equation model was used to verify hypotheses. Results - Frist, narrative identity affects positive evaluation of historical contents. Nostalgia affect positive evaluation of historical contents. and narrative identity affects positive response of historical nostalgia. Second, character act relevance, circumstance similarity, and character attractiveness have positive influence upon response of narrative identity. Lastly, empathy for story and vividness of representation have also positive influence upon response of historical nostalgia. Conclusion - This study contributes to the theoretical and managemental development of historical contents. This study shows that narrative identity and historical nostalgia are important for success of historical contents. In order for historical content to be successful, it must manage elements of character act relevance, circumstance similarity, and character attractiveness, empathy for story and vividness of representation.

  • Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is to store and retrieve images using the feature description of image contents. In order to support more accurate image retrieval, it has become necessary to develop features that can effectively describe image contents. The commonly used low-level features, such as color, texture, and shape features may not be directly mapped to human visual perception. In addition, such features cannot effectively describe a single image that contains multiple objects of interest. As a result, the research on feature descriptions has shifted to focus on higher-level features, which support representations more similar to human visual perception like spatial relationships between objects. Nevertheless, the prior works on the representation of spatial relations still have shortcomings, particularly with respect to supporting rotational invariance, Rotational invariance is a key requirement for a feature description to provide robust and accurate retrieval of images. This paper proposes a high-level feature named 8AB (8 Angular Bin) that effectively describes the spatial relations of objects in an image while providing rotational invariance. With this representation, a similarity calculation and a retrieval technique are also proposed. In addition, this paper proposes a search-space pruning technique, which supports efficient image retrieval using the 8AB feature. The 8AB feature is incorporated into a CBIR system, and the experiments over both real and synthetic image sets show the effectiveness of 8AB as a high-level feature and the efficiency of the pruning technique.

  • The mobile social networking application Instagram is a well-known platform for sharing photos and videos. Since it is folksonomy-oriented, it provides the possibility for image indexing and knowledge representation through the assignment of hashtags to posted content. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Instagram users tag their pictures regarding different kinds of picture and hashtag categories. For such a content analysis, a distinction is made between Food, Pets, Selfies, Friends, Activity, Art, Fashion, Quotes (captioned photos), Landscape, and Architecture image categories as well as Content-relatedness (ofness, aboutness, and iconology), Emotiveness, Isness, Performativeness, Fakeness, "Insta"-Tags, and Sentences as hashtag categories. Altogether, 14,649 hashtags of 1,000 Instagram images were intellectually analyzed (100 pictures for each image category). Research questions are stated as follows: RQ1: Are there any differences in relative frequencies of hashtags in the picture categories? On average the number of hashtags per picture is 15. Lowest average values received the categories Selfie (average 10.9 tags per picture) and Friends (average 11.7 tags per picture); for highest, the categories Pet (average 18.6 tags), Fashion (average 17.6 tags), and Landscape (average 16.8 tags). RQ2: Given a picture category, what is the distribution of hashtag categories; and given a hashtag category, what is the distribution of picture categories? 60.20% of all hashtags were classified into the category Content-relatedness. Categories Emotiveness (about 4.38%) and Sentences (0.99%) were less often frequent. RQ3: Is there any association between image categories and hashtag categories? A statistically significant association between hashtag categories and image categories on Instagram exists, as a chi-square test of independence shows. This study enables a first broad overview on the tagging behavior of Instagram users and is not limited to a specific hashtag or picture motive, like previous studies.

  • This study aims at exploring the features of science teaching orientation (STO) and its relationships with other PCK (pedagogical content knowledge) components. To do this, based on the definition of STO by Friedrichsen, Driel, & Abell(2011) and PCK model by Magnusson, Krajcik, & Borko(1999), we observed one experienced elementary teacher's science lessons for 21 lesson hours (10 hours of 'Motion of Objects' and 11 hours of 'Light and Lens') and carried out qualitative analyses of the data obtained from lessons observation, teacher interviews, and CoRe (content representation) responses. We analyzed the teacher's three aspects of STO (i.e. beliefs about the goals and purpose of science teaching, beliefs about the nature of science, and beliefs about science teaching and learning) which can converge into an overall STO of 'inquiry'. And these aspects of STO appear to interact differently with four PCK components (i.e. curriculum knowledge, learner knowledge, instructional knowledge, and assessment knowledge) depending on the topic of the lesson. It is hoped that this in-depth understanding of the features of STO and its relationship with other PCK components would provide useful information on how to monitor and improve STO and PCK of elementary teachers.

  • It is one of the representation technique very common to be used, such as visual communication, a variety of cultural content, anthropomorphic, is dependent on the anthropomorphic approach most content for children in particular. In addition, personification can see a variety of cases in the field of culture and art of many other operations, including literature and poetry. By analyzing the case of reverse personification and anthropomorphic when transmitting content and image of the language that was meant, of anthropomorphic elements, which can be reverse action and an equal effect between those non-human and human it is possible to confirm that. Therefore, in this paper, we redefine the concept and elements of anthropomorphic, it defines the concept of anthropomorphic station on the basis of this, and were analyzed for the case. In addition, among the cases of good quality that communicate with anthropomorphic approach the station, the character analysis short animation of "The Employment employment", be used as academic materials of anthropomorphic approach the station of visual culture content areas of future possible.

  • Background Carpal tunnel release is one of the most common surgical procedures performed by hand surgeons. The authors created a surgical simulation of open carpal tunnel release utilizing a mobile and rehearsal platform app. This study was performed in order to validate the simulator as an effective training platform for carpal tunnel release. Methods The simulator was evaluated using a number of metrics: construct validity (the ability to identify variability in skill levels), face validity (the perceived ability of the simulator to teach the intended material), content validity (that the simulator was an accurate representation of the intended operation), and acceptability validity (willingness of the desired user group to adopt this method of training). Novices and experts were recruited. Each group was tested, and all participants were assigned an objective score, which served as construct validation. A Likert-scale questionnaire was administered to gauge face, content, and acceptability validity. Results Twenty novices and 10 experts were recruited for this study. The objective performance scores from the expert group were significantly higher than those of the novice group, with surgeons scoring a median of 74% and medical students scoring a median of 45%. The questionnaire responses indicated face, content, and acceptability validation. Conclusions This mobile-based surgical simulation platform provides step-by-step instruction for a variety of surgical procedures. The findings of this study help to demonstrate its utility as a learning tool, as we confirmed construct, face, content, and acceptability validity for carpal tunnel release. This easy-to-use educational tool may help bring surgical education to a new- and highly mobile-level.

  • Efficient retrieval of image data is an important research issue in multimedia database. This paper proposes a new approach to a content-based image retrieval which allows queries to be composed of the local texture patterns and the slope components of contour points. The texture patterns extracted from the source image using the graylevel co-occurrence matrix and the slope components of contour points extracted from the binary image are converted into a internal feature representation of reduced dimensionality which preserves the perceptual similarity and those features can be used in creating efficient indexing structures for a content-based image retrieval. Experimental results of the image retrievalare presented to illustrate the usefulness of this approach that demonstrates the precision 82%, the recall 87% and the average rang 3.3 in content-based image data retrieval.

  • Dynamic textures are videos that exhibit a stationary property with respect to time (i.e., they have patterns that repeat themselves over a large number of frames). These patterns can easily be tracked by a linear dynamic system. In this paper, a model that identifies the underlying linear dynamic system using wavelet coefficients, rather than a raw sequence, is proposed. Content based threshold filtering based on Set Partitioning in a Hierarchical Tree (SPIHT) helps to get another representation of the same frames that only have low frequency components. The main idea of this paper is to apply SPIHT based threshold filtering on different bands of wavelet transform so as to have more significant information in fewer parameters for singular value decomposition (SVD). In this case, more flexibility is given for the component selection, as SVD is independently applied to the different bands of frames of a dynamic texture. To minimize the time complexity, the proposed model is implemented on a graphics processing unit (GPU). Test results show that the proposed dynamic system, along with a discrete wavelet and SPIHT, achieve a highly compact model with better visual quality, than the available LDS, Fourier descriptor model, and higher-order SVD (HOSVD).
