접적지역 대피소 방호수준 설정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Protective Capacity of Military Shelters in the Contact Areas)

  • Protection against direct projectiles has been adapted just to the main command posts in the existing protective facility standards. However, protective capacity for the shelters against direct projectiles is also required because the initial survivability as well as the operation sustainment of the shelters is critical during a couple of days from outbreak of war. In this study, the Russian artillery is used to determine the existing and future threat of the North Korean Armed Forces indirectly. And then, required protective capacity of military shelters in the contact areas is calculated along with UFC 3-340-02 and it is verified using modeling and simulation. Based on the assessed capacity, actual inspect of military facilities with contact areas on spot is performed whether military shelters have enough protection capacity against determined threats. According to the field study, it is verified that proper earth bermed shelter has enough protection capacity. The results in this study could be used how to retrofit the current shelters in the contact areas.

Transverse Flow and Process Modeling on the Polymer Composite with 3-Dimensionally Stitched Woven Fabric

  • In resin infusion process(RIP), the fiber and the resin are in contact with each other for an impregnation step and often results in flow-induced defects such as poor fiber wetting and void formation. Resin flow characteristics in transverse direction and process modeling for woven fabric were studied, and the process modeling was applied to the manufacturing of hybrid composite materials. This study also considered the compressibility of woven fabrics in a series of compression force, and it was fitted well to an elastic model equation. Void formation was varied with the processing conditions in the stage of manufacturing composites using RIP. It was concluded from this study that proper combination of pressure build-up and dynamic heating condition makes important factor for flow-induced composite processing.

RC beams retrofitted using external bars with additional anchorages-a finite element study

  • Study on flexural retrofitting of RC beams using external bars with additional intermediate anchorages at soffit is reported in this paper. Effects of varying number of anchorages in the external bars at soffit were studied by finite element analysis using ANSYS 12.0 software. The results were also compared with available experimental results for beam with only two end anchorages. Two sets of reference and retrofitted beam specimens with two, three, four and five anchorages were analysed and the results are reported. FE modeling and non-linear analysis was carried out by discrete reinforcement modeling using Solid65, Solid45 and Link8 elements. Combin39 spring elements were used for modeling the frictional contact between the soffit and the external bars. The beam specimens were subjected to four-point bending and incremental loading was applied till failure. The entire process of modeling, application of incremental loading and generation of output in text and graphical format were carried out using ANSYS Parametric Design Language.

  • Recently, demands on the tapping machine are increased due to the case of a cell phone is changed to metal such as aluminum. The automatic tool changer (ATC) is one of the most important devices for the tapping machine related to the speed and energy consumption of the machine. To reduce the consumed energy and vibration, the dynamic modeling is essential for the ATC. In this paper, inverse dynamic modeling of a novel ATC mechanism is introduced. The proposed ATC mechanism is composed of a double four-bar mechanism with a circular tablet to generate continuous rotation of the tablet. The dynamic modeling is performed based on the Lagrange equation with a modeling for the contact between the four-bar and the tablet. Simulation results for various working conditions are proposed and analyzed for the prototype design. The dynamic modeling can be applied to determine the proper actuator and to reduce the vibration and consumed energy for the ATC machine.

  • An analytic study on the bond stress between steel tube and concrete in concrete filled steel(CFT) rectangular column is presented in this paper. Recently buildings need members which are enhanced durability and ductility. Concrete filled rectangular column system is proposed as alternative plan. In this paper, ABAQUS/Standard Version 5.8 which is identified as usefulness for finite element analysis and has various element library is used. The variables in this study are the location and type of shear-connector. The modeling on contact problem practiced by Contact Pair and Contact Pressure method. In the step of physical bond, it is practiced by Change friction option After yielding of models, analytic results is less than that of experimental results.

  • The purpose of this research is to develope a FEM program for analyzing solidification processes of axisymmetric casting, considering phase changes and the contact between the metal and mold. Tempera- ture recovery method is employed fro considering the phase changes releasing the latent heat and the coin- cident node method is used for calculating the amount of heat transfer between the metal and mold. Tan- gent modulus algorithm is adopted for calculating flow stress and a gap element is employed for modeling the interface between the mold and metal in finding deformed shapes. In order to verify the developed program, axisymmetric aluminum and steel casting processes are simulated. Temperature distribution, phase front position, and shrinkage and porosity creation are compared with measurements, FIDAP results, and good agreements are examined.

전체면 접촉 절삭공구를 이용한 장구형 웜나사 치형가공 연구 (Double Enveloping Worm Thread Tooth Machining Study using Full Face Contact Cutting Tool)

  • In this paper, we propose the generation of a double enveloping worm thread profile with a non-developable ruled surface. Thread surface machining cuts all the way from the tip to the tooth root at one time, like full-face contact machining, rather than cutting several times like point machining. This cutting can reduce the cutting duration and achieve the smooth surface that does not require a grinding process for the threaded surface. The mathematical model of the cutting process was developed from theoretical equations, and the tooth surface was generated using two parameters and modeled in the CATIA using the generated Excel data. Additionally, the machining process of the worm was simulated in a numerical control simulation system. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the deviation between the modeling and the workpiece was measured using a 3D measuring machine.

  • For a robot to perfom more versatile tasks, it is invitable for the robot's end-effector to come into contact with its environment. In thos case, to achieve better performance, it is necessary to properly control the contact force between the robot and the environment. In thos work, hybrid control theory is studied and is verified through experiment using a 3 DOF robot. In the experiment, two position/force controllers are used. Fist, proportional-integral-derivative controller is used as the controller for both position and force. Second, computed-torque method is used as the position controller, and proportional-integral-derivative controller is used as the force controller. For a proper modeling used in computed-torque method, the friction torque is measured by experiment, and compensation method is studied. The hybrid control method used in this experiment effectively control the contact force between the end-effector and the environment for various types of jobs.

  • In VLM-ST process, the fine detailed shape processing process is needed due to the use of thick sheets for layers. The developed process perform the fine detailed shape processing in VLM-ST parts using non-contact hot tool. To predict the heat-affected zone and temperature distribution of VLM-ST parts in detailed shaping, the heat flux from the tool to the surface was calculated for the finite element analysis by modeling the tool as a heat source of radiation. The dominant process parameters such as the radiated heat input, the tool speed, and the gap between the tool tip and the foam sheet (tool height) were considered in the analysis. The results showed a good agreement with the experiments.

직접전단시험과 이산요소법에 기반한 전단 시뮬레이션과의 비교 (A Comparison of the Direct Shear Test and Shear Simulation Based on the Discrete Element Method)

  • An important factor of rough road modeling is analyzing the shear behavior properties of the rough road. These properties influence the drawbar pull of the tool when interacting with the soil used in agriculture. Furthermore, shear behavior properties are important because sinkage and shear stress are generated when wheels drive on rough roads. In this study, we performed a direct shear test to investigate the shear behavior properties of soils and compare with the direct shear simulation; shear force derived by the coupled analysis of discrete element method; and multi-body dynamics. Soil contact parameters were measured in a wheel and soil contact simulation followed by comparison of the simulated and experimentally measured shear force.
