To enhance the performance of SEWGS system by holding the WGS catalyst in a SEWGS reactor using bed inserts, effect of bed insert geometry on CO conversion of WGS catalyst was measured and investigated. Small scale fluidized bed reactor was used as experimental apparatus and tablet shaped WGS catalyst and sand particle were used as bed materials. The cylinder type and the spring type bed inserts were used to hold the WGS catalysts. The CO conversion of WGS catalyst with the change of steam/CO ratio was determined based on the exit gas analysis. Moreover, gas flow direction was confirmed by bed pressure drop measurement for each case. The measured CO conversion using the bed inserts showed high value comparable to previous results even though at low catalyst content. Most of input gas flowed through the bed center side when we charged tablet type catalyst into the cylinder type bed insert and this can cause low $CO_2$ capture efficiency because the possibility of contact between input gas and $CO_2$ absorbent is low in this case. However, the spring type bed insert showed good reactivity and good distribution of gas, and therefore, the spring type bed insert was selected as the best bed insert for SEWGS process.
Busbar has been used as electric conductor within extra high voltage (EHV) gas insulated switchgear (GIS), which makes EHV GIS higher security, smaller size and lower cost. However, the main fault of GIS is overheating of busbar connection parts, circuit breaker and isolating switch contact parts, which has been already restricting development of GIS to a large extent. In this study, a coupled magneto-flow-thermal analysis is used to investigate the thermal properties of GIS busbar in steady-state. A three-dimensional (3-D) finite element model (FEM) is built to calculate multiphysics fields including electromagnetic field, flow field and thermal field in steady-state. The influences of current on the magnetic flux density, flow velocity and heat distribution has been investigated. Temperature differences of inner wall and outer wall are investigated for busbar tank and conducting rod. Considering the end effect in the busbar, temperature rise difference is compared between end sections and the middle section. In order to obtain better heat dissipation effect, diameters of conductor and tank are optimized based on temperature rise simulation results. Temperature rise tests have been done to validate the 3-D simulation model, which is observed a good correlation with the simulation results. This study provides technical support for optimized structure of the EHV GIS busbar.
The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of clasp design on abutment tooth adjacent to a distal extension base under the influence by the location of functional loading. The RPI clasp, the Akers clasp and the combination clasp were selected for evaluation. Tests were performed at 10Kg, 20Kg, 30Kg loads on the buccal, central, lingual, mesial and distal positions of loading platform of each mandibular distal extension partial denture. The laser reflexion method was used for three dimensional measurement of abutment movement, which is possible to measure precisely without contact. The movement in the mesiodistal(X), buccolingual(Y), and occlusoapical(Z) directions and the rotational movement(R) were measured, and in addition, the total movement (SV) as expressed by the three dimensional summation vector independent of direction was calculated. The data were analyzed using Student t-test, p<.05. The following results were obtained from this study; 1. Clasp design did not generally affect the direction of abutment tooth movement except the movement in an undesirable occlusal direction in case of the Akers clasp and the combination clasp. 2. The greater the load on the prosthesis, the greater was the abutment tooth movement, and the direction of abutment tooth movement was affected by positional loading. 3. Each prosthesis was dislodged from the test base under the small amount of load in the distal load position, and the buccal loading showed the greatest abutment tooth movement under the maximum load. 4. RPI clasp was evaluated as the most favorable design.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of overlaying titanium mesh (TM) with an adjunctive collagen membrane (CM) for preserving the buccal bone when used in association with immediate implant placement in dogs. Methods: Immediate implant placements were performed in the mesial sockets of the third premolars of five dogs. At one site the TM was attached to the fixture with the aid of its own stabilizers and then covered by a CM (CM group), while the contralateral site received only TM (TM group). Biopsy specimens were retrieved for histologic and histomorphometric analyses after 16 weeks. Results: All samples exhibited pronounced buccal bone resorption, and a high rate of TM exposure was noted (in three and four cases of the five samples in each of the TM and CM groups, respectively). A dense fibrous tissue with little vascularity or cellularity had infiltrated through the pores of the TM irrespective of the presence of a CM. The distances between the fixture platform and the first bone-implant contact and the bone crest did not differ significantly between the TM and CM groups. Conclusions: Our study suggests that the additional use of a CM over TM does not offer added benefit for mucosal healing and buccal bone preservation.

In the boiling heat transfer mechanism, CHF(critical heat flux) is the significantly important parameter of the system. So, many researchers have been struggling to enhance the CHF of the system in enormous methods. Recently, there were lots of researches about enormous CHF enhancement with the nanofluids. In that, the pool boiling CHF in nanofluids has the significantly increased value compared to that in pure water because of the deposition of the nanoparticle on the heater surface in the nanofluids. The aim of this study is the comparison of the effect of the nanoparticle deposited surface and the modified surface which has the similar morphology and made by MEMS fabrication. The nanoparticle deposited surface has the complex structures in nano-micro scale. Therefore, we fabricated the surfaces which has the similar wettability and coated with the micro size post and nano structure. The experiment is performed in 3 cases : the bare surface with 0.002% water-ZnO nanofluids, the nanoparticle deposited surface with pure water and the new fabricated surface with pure water. The contact angle, a representative parameter of the wettability, of the all 3 cases has the similar value about 0 and the SEM(scanning electron microscope) images of the surfaces show the complex nano-micro structure. From the pool boiling experiment of the each case, the nanoparticle deposited surface with pure water and the fabricated surface with pure water has the almost same CHF value. In other words, the CHF enhancement of the nanoparticle deposited surface is the surface effect. It also shows that the new fabricated surface follows the nanoparticle deposited surface well.

Statement of problem : There are many articles that showed that the magnetism affected the bone formation around titanium implant. It means that a proper magnetism made the osseointegration improved around the implant. So after additional research on the other effect of magnetism on bone formation in implant therapy, we can conclude its possibility of clinical application on implant treatment. Purpose: The purposes of this study were to find out the intensity of magnetic field where magnetism in the titanium implant specimen inserted into the bone could affect the bone formation, and to discover the possibility of clinical application in the areas of dental implants and bone grafts. Material and method: Ten adult male rabbits(mean BW 2Kg) were used in this study. Titanium implant specimens were surgically implanted on the mesial side of the tibia of rabbits. Neodymium magnets(Magnedisc 500, Aichi Steel Corp. Japan) were placed into the implants of experimental group except control group, just after placement of the titanium implants. At 2, 4 and 8 weeks after the surgery, the animals were sacrificed, specimens were obtained and stained with Hematoxylin-Eosin for light microscopic evaluation and histomorphometric analysis. Conclusion : The results were as follows: 1. In radiographic findings, increased radiopacity downward from crestal bone was observed along the titanium implant specimen at experimental period passed by 2, 4, and 8 weeks in both control and experimental group. 2. In histoiogic findings, increased new bone formation was shown in both control and experimental group through the experiment performed for 2, 4, and 8 weeks. More new bone formation and bone remodeling were shown in experimental group. 3. In histomorphometric analysis, the bone contact ratios were 11.9% for control group and 38.5% for experimental group (p<0.05).

In this study, ammonia removal characteristics in membrane contactor system under various operating conditions were evaluated. The mass transfer coefficient was used to quantitatively compare the effect of various operation conditions on ammonia removal efficiency. Effective removal of ammonia was possible with the tubular PTFE membrane contactor system at all tested conditions. Among the various operation parameters, contact time and solution pH showed significant effect on ammonia removal mechanism. Overall ammonia removal rate was not significantly affected by influent suspended solution concentration unlike other pressure driven membrane filtration processes. Also the osmotic distillation phenomena which deteriorate the mass transfer efficiency can be minimized by preheating of strip solution. Membrane contactor system can be a possible alternative to treat high strength nitrogen wastewater by optimizing operation conditions such as stripping solution flow rate, influent wastewater temperature, and influent pH.
Purpose: This study examined the effect on postural control during the stimulation of haptic touch with fingertip on the stable surface at quiet standing posture, squat flexion stage, 60 degrees squat stage and squat extension stage. Methods: The postural sway was measured on the force platform, while 30 subjects were squatting, under three different haptic touch conditions (No Touch [NT], Light Touch [LT], Heavy Touch [HT]), above the touch pad in front of their body midline. Three different haptic touch conditions were divided into 1) NT condition; squatting as right index fingers held above the touch pad, 2) LT condition (<1N); squatting as the touch pad was in contact with right index fingers pulp with a pressure not exceeding 1N and 3) HT condition; squatting as subjects were allowed to use the touch pad for mechanical support by transmitting onto it with as much force, choosing with their index fingers. Results: There was significant decrease in LT, rather than that of NT (p<0.01), and in HT, rather than that of LT (p<0.01), as the results of the distance and velocity of center of pressure (COP) in mediolateral direction at quiet standing position. In anteroposterior direction, the distance and velocity of COP in LT and HT showed significant decrease, when compared to that of the data of NT (p<0.01). There was no significant difference between the 3 conditions (NT, LT, and HT), with respect to the distance and velocity of COP in mediolateral direction, during dynamic balance (squat flexion stage, squat extension stage) (p>0.05). In anteroposterior direction, the results of the distance and velocity of COP in HT showed significant decrease when compared to that of the data of NT (p<0.05). Conclusion: Light touch, during the task, decreased the postural sway at static balance. The results suggest that haptic touch should be applied, appropriately, because it varies the effects according to different conditions.
PET/CT is a medical equipment that detects 0.511 MeV of gamma rays. The radiation workers are inevitably exposed to ionizing radiation in the process of handling the isotope. Accordingly, PET/CT workers use syringe shields made of lead and tungsten to protect their hands. However, lead and tungsten are known to generate very high scattering particles by interacting with gamma rays. Therefore, in this study, we tried to find out the effect on the scattering particles emitted from the syringe shield. In the experiment, first, the exposure dose to the hand (Rod phantom) was evaluated according to the metal material (lead, tungsten, iron, stainless steel) using Monte Carlo simulation. The exposure dose was compared according to whether or not plastic is attached. Second, the exposure dose of scattering particles was measured using a dosimeter and lead. As a result of the experiment, the shielding rate of plastics using the Monte Carlo simulation showed the largest difference in dose of about 40 % in lead, and the lowest in iron, about 15 %. As a result of the dosimeter test, when the plastic tape was wound on lead, it was found that the reduction rate was about 15 %, 28 %, and 39 % depending on the thickness. Based on the above results, it was found that 0.511 MeV of gamma ray interacts with the shielding tool to emit scattered rays and has a very large effect on radiation exposure. However, it was considered that the scattering particles could be sufficiently removed with plastics with a low atomic number. From now on, when using high-energy radiation, the shielding tool and the skin should not be in direct contact, and should be covered with a material with a low atomic number.
Joint properties of vehicle ECU (Electric Control Unit) module which was manufactured by using Sn-Cu-Cr-Ca alloy were investigated. A new solder which has a middle melting temperature about $231^{\circ}C$ was fabricated as the type of 300um solder ball and paste type. The prototype modules were made by reflow process and measured spreadability, wettability shear strength and estimated interface reaction. The spreadability of the alloy was about 84% from the measurement of contact angle of the solder ball and the wetting force was measured 2mN. The average shear strength of the module which was manufactured by using the solder paste, was 1.9 $kg/mm^2$. Also, the thickness of IMC(intermetallic compound) was evaluated with various aging temperature and time in order to understand Cr effect on Sn-0.7Cu solder. $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMC was formed between Cu pad and the solder alloy and the average thickness of the $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMC was measured about 4um and it was about 50% of thickness of $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMC in Sn-0.7Cu. It is expected to have a positive effect on reliability of the solder joint.
