In this paper, comparisons are presented on the predicted tensile strains which can affect the fatigue life of a thin asphalt concrete (AC) pavement near the surface of pavement from three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) using 3D measured tire contact stresses of a radial tire and a bias ply tire and a layered linear elastic program (BISAR). The objective was to analyze the stress distributions for a 11R22.5 radial tire and a $10{\times}20$ bias ply tire, and to compare the predicted tensile strains at the top and bottom of AC surface using different analysis methods. The results show that the stress distributions of two tires are similar but the 11R22.5 radial tire has much higher vertical contact stress than that of the $10{\times}20$ bias ply tire. The predicted tensile strains at the bottom of AC layer under the center of tire showed higher value by BM (BISAR with the measured contact area) method, which the measured tire contact area is used in a layered elastic program, while the tensile strain at the top of AC surface of 3.5cm offset distance from tire edge by 3D FE analysis showed the highest values among three analysis methods.
Purpose: An in vitro study was conducted to compare the lipid cleaning efficacy of care solutions on balafilcon A silicone hydrogel (SiHy) lens. Methods: Lipid spoilation was performed by incubating balafilcon A SiHy lenses in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing oleic acid, oleic acid methyl ester and cholesterol. Spoiled contact lenses rinsed with PBS were cleaned with surfactant cleaner, alcohol containing cleaner and multipurpose solution (MPS) respectively and repetitive spoilation and cleaning was conducted up to 14 times. To observe the cleaning effect of ultrasonic wave on the lipid deposit, each spoiled lens was ultrasonicated and then compared with non-sonicated lens. Lipids deposit on the contact lenses was extracted by methanol:chloroform (1:1, v/v) solution. High performance liquid chromatography was used to analyze and quantify lipid deposit extracts. Results: The effectiveness of alcohol containing surfactant cleaner on the lipid deposits was better than that of surfactant cleaner and MPS, and the cleaning efficacy was significantly higher in the ultrasonic wave treated group. Lipid deposits were not removed completely by contact lens care solutions so that lipid deposits increased continuously and cumulatively. Conclusions: The cleaning efficacy of contact lens care solutions was not satisfactory to remove lipid deposits on the SiHy lens that new cleaning products specially designed for SiHy lenses are needed to develop.

Since the general solar cells accept sun light at the front side, excluding the electrode area, electrons move from the emitter to the front electrode and start to collect at the grid edge. Thus the edge of gridline can be important for electrical properties of screen-printed silicon solar cells. In this study, the improvement of electrical properties in screen-printed crystalline silicon solar cells by contact treatment of grid edge was investigated. The samples with $60{\Omega}/{\square}$ and $70{\Omega}/{\square}$ emitter were prepared. After front side of samples was deposited by SiNx commercial Ag paste and Al paste were printed at front side and rear side respectively. Each sample was co-fired between $670^{\circ}C$ and $780^{\circ}C$ in the rapid thermal processing (RTP). After the firing process, the cells were dipped in 2.5% hydrofluoric acid (HF) at room temperature for various times under 60 seconds and then rinsed in deionized water. (This is called "contact treatment") After dipping in HF for a certain period, the samples from each firing condition were compared by measurement. Cell performances were measured by Suns-Voc, solar simulator, the transfer length method and a field emission scanning electron microscope. According to HF treatment, once the thin glass layer at the grid edge was etched, the current transport was changed from tunneling via Ag colloids in the glass layer to direct transport via Ag colloids between the Ag bulk and the emitter. Thus, the transfer length as well as the specific contact resistance decreased. For more details a model of the current path was proposed to explain the effect of HF treatment at the edge of the Ag grid. It is expected that HF treatment may help to improve the contact of high sheet-resistance emitter as well as the contact of a high specific contact resistance.

Purpose: The present study was aimed to compare the results of disinfection efficacy tested by membrane filtration method with dilution-neutralization method to develop the standard methods for evaluating disinfection efficacy of contact lens care products and to provide the result of disinfection efficacy of commercially available contact lens care products in domestic market. Methods: The results of disinfection efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, Candida albicans evaluated by membrane filtration method as a FDA standard and dilution-neutralization method as newly being a KFDA standard were compared and the disinfection efficacy of 16 multi-purpose solutions was further evaluated. Results: The disinfectants and contact lens care products having strong disinfection efficacy showed same results in both membrane filtration method and dilution-neutralization method. In case of contact lens care products having weak disinfection efficacy, the number of micro-organisms was not able to count since the colony was aggregated when evaluated by membrane filtration method. However, the number of micro-organisms was able to exactly count when evaluated by dilution-neutralization method. In addition, some commercially available contact lens care products did not meet disinfection standard and especially, their disinfection effect was often weak against Serratia marcescen and Candida albicans. Conclusions: It is concluded that dilution-neutralization method will be useful to evaluate disinfection efficacy since it is possible to count micro-organisms more precisely even with small amount of sample and check the results faster compared with membrane filtration method.

This study attempted to investigate the effects of experience of non-contact lectures on learning flow against college students majoring in cosmetology and provide basic data to beauty education industry in the with-COVID-19 era. For this, a self-administered questionnaire survey was performed against 300 college students majoring in cosmetology from June 7 to 21, 2022. A total of 286 copies were collected and used for final analysis. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, exploratory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, using SPSS 21.0, and the results found the followings: According to analysis of non-contact lecture experience factors, two course satisfaction factors were obtained. In learning flow, learning pleasure and learning flow were found. Specifically, class activities had a positive influence on 'learning pleasure (𝛽=.279, p<.007)' and 'learning flow (𝛽=.221, p<.031)' with statistical significance (p<.05). In addition, course satisfaction revealed a positive effect on 'learning flow (𝛽=.223, p<.041)' with statistical significance (p<.05). The above results confirm that experience of non-contact lectures affects learning flow. Therefore, it is anticipated that there would be more efforts to seek an efficient non-contact learning plan in this new era.
The present study empirically confirmed knowledge of ageing and quality of contact were predictors affecting middle-aged Korean's ageism against the elderly and verified mediating role of intergroup anxiety between not only knowledge of ageing but also quality of contact and ageism. To investigate causalities of factors, we purposively collected 400 samples from 20 Dongs evenly located in Jeonju and 393 samples, survived the data cleaning such as missing values, outliers, normality and covariance conditions, were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis and structural model analysis. Followed were the selected contributions of the present study. First, the knowledge of ageing and quality of contact were predictors of ageism mediated by intergroup anxiety. Second, the knowledge of ageing and quality of contact did not directly affect middle-aged Korean's ageism against the elderly. Third, intergroup anxiety had strong effect on ageism. The contributions suggested increasing knowledge of ageing and providing contact experience to middle-aged Korean as combating strategy against ageism.

This study aimed to make an analysis of the occlusion in the state of muscle fatigue produced by excessive mouth opening and clenching during the dental treatment to control the dental pain and to evaluate the sensory nerve in the muscle pain state. Most of the reasons why patients visit the dental office result in pain-either conceivably the dental origin pain or the non-dental origin pain. The dental offices have many therapeutic actions to produce the masticatory muscle fatigue for the treatment. Dental treatment with long minutes of mouth opening can cause some headaches, masticatory muscle pain and mouth opening difficulties. Patients with mastication problems who visits a dental office to alleviate pain run against another unexpected pain with other aspects. This study uses T-scan II system(Tekscan Co., USA) for the evaluation on the occlusal pattern in the experimental muscle fatigue after clenching, opening the mouth excessively and chewing gum. The occlusal contact pattern is analyzed by the contact timing, namely first, intercuspal, maximum and end point of contact. This inspection was performed at frequencies of 2000Hz, 250 Hz and 5 Hz before and after each experimental muscle pain was produced to 24 subjects who had normal occlusion without the orthodontic treatment or a wide range of the prosthesis by using $neurometer^{\circledR}$ CPT/C(Neurotron, Inc. Baltimore, Maryland, USA). The measuring sites were mandibular nerve experimental muscle fatigue respectively. This study could obtain the following results after the assessment of occlusion and sensory nerve of the experimental muscle fatigue. 1. There were the fastest expression after the excessive mouth opening in muscle fatigue and after tooth clenching in muscle pain. In the visual analog scale that records the subjective level, there was the highest scale after the clenching in the muscle fatigue in jumping off the point of pain. 2. Tooth contact time, contact force, relative contact force on the point of the first contact had no difference, and there were decreases in the contact force after the excessive mouth opening on intercuspal position point, after the excessive mouth opening and the gum chewing on the point of the maximum, and in the contact time after all the experimental muscle fatigue state on the point of the end contact. 3. There was no statistic significance in the current perception threshold before and after the experimental muscle fatigue. 4. There was no significant difference in the contact number, the maximal contact number on the point of the first contact, and the contact number after the mouth opening and gum chewing on the point of the intercuspal position and the contact number after the experimental muscle fatigue on the maximum point, and showed significant decreases. In conclusion, it was found that the occlusal pattern can cause the changes on the case of the clinical muscle weakness by intra-external oral events. It was important that the sedulous attention to details is required during dental treatment in case of excessive mouth opening, mastication and clenching.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality of life (QoL) of elderly women and the effect of social support on their QoL. The data were used 'urvey on the Elderly in 2011', which was held from 'Ministry of Health & Welfare' and 'Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs'. Among the total 15,146 respondents, 3,880 of elderly women whose age was over 65, and who did not live together with their married children were included in the analysis. Multiple regression analysis and path analysis were used to analyze the research model. The findings were as follows. First, from the fact that the elderly women showed the highest mean in 'contact frequency with friends' among social support, it seemed that the elderly women contacted their friends more than their children in their old age. Among the support types from their children, elderly women received emotional support, physical support, instrumental support in order and irregular cash as a way of economic support. Second, from the regression results, the most critical factor that affected the QoL of elderly women was 'subjective physical condition level' and 'subjective standard of living' comes next. Third, the most important factor was 'subjective standard of living' from path analysis results, and 'subjective physical condition level' and 'total amount of annual income' in order. Also, social supports such as 'phone call contact frequency with children', 'emotional support from children', phone call contact frequency with relatives', 'phone call contact frequency with friends' positively affected the QoL of elderly women. Therefore, raising social supports from children, relatives, and friends positively contributes to improve the QoL of elderly women directly and indirectly. The results show that social supporters, which is a part of the structural aspects of social support, and types of social support, which lies in functional aspects, directly affect QoL of the elderly women and turn out to be factors that improve the QoL as mediating variables. It is concluded that the social supports can be the most important resources that make up declining personal and social resources in old age and maintain the QoL of elderly women.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma jet(NTAPPJ) on surface properties and Streptococcus mutans disinfection of denture base resin. Methods : Self-cured denture base resin (Jet denture repair resin, Lang dental Mfg, co., USA) was used to make specimen($12mm{\times}2mm$). To observe surface change before and after plasma process, surface roughness and contact angle were measured. For sterilization experiments, the surfaces of specimens were treated with nitrogen and air NTAPPJ for 1 minute after S. mutans was inoculated on the material surfaces. Results : Before plasma process, surface roughness of denture base resin was $0.21{\mu}m{\pm}0.02{\mu}m$. After air and nitrogen NTAPPJ process, surface roughness was $0.19{\mu}m{\pm}0.03{\mu}m$ and $0.18{\mu}m{\pm}0.01{\mu}m$ respectively. There was no significant difference(p>0.05). Contact angle of control group without plasma process was $83.81^{\circ}{\pm}3.14^{\circ}$, while after plasma treatment, contact angles of air NTAPPJ and nitrogen NTAPPJ groups were $63.29^{\circ}{\pm}2.27^{\circ}$ and $46.68^{\circ}{\pm}5.82^{\circ}$ respectively. The result showed a significant decrease in contact angle after plasma process(p<0.05). Compared to the control group 6020.33(CFU/mL) without plasma process, CFU decreased significantly after air NTAPPJ 90.75(CFU/mL) and nitrogen NTAPPJ 80.25(CFU/mL) treatment(p<0.05). Conclusions : It was considered that NTAPPJ can be used for denture disinfection without changing surface properties of materials.
We studied the change in intraocular pressure (IOP) in 15 consecutive cataract patients who underwent extracapsular cataract extraction and posterior chamber lens implantation between Feb. 1993 and Apr. 1993 to evaluate the effect of this surgery on postoperative IOP. To evaluate the clinical usefulness of non-contact tonometer, the intraocular pressures were measured with Kowa non-contact tonometer (TM-2000, Japan) as well as Goldmann applanation tonometer. There was a decrease in IOP of $3.4{\pm}2.9$mmHg (p<0.00l) 3 months after this surgery and the intraocular pressure differences between pseudophakic eyes and contralateral phakic eyes at 3 months postoperatively were $2.4{\pm}3.8$mmHg (p<0.05). The correlation coefficient between non-contact tonometer and Goldmann tonometer was 0.8876 (p=0.001) in the postoperative 76 eyes. Therefore, our results suggest that extracapsular cataract extracion and posterior chamber lens implantation alone can be a useful surgical method in cataract patient with ocular hypertension, and non-contact tonometer was relatively accurate in measuring the postoperative intraocular pressure.
