  • Korea's medical law prohibited medical advertisements in principle and permitted them on an exceptional cases. However, the decision of the Constitutional Court of 20005. 10. 27. 20003 Heonga 3, it was changed to a negative system which allows advertisements in principle and restricted only exceptionally. Dramatic increase of medical advertisements was made after that and many argued more deregulation because there was actually heavy regulations. In particular, there is almost no actual regulation on the article type advertisement due to the reason of protection of the freedom of press, media and occupation. However, there may be an unjust result if a specific article or specialists' opinion is made using a newspaper, broadcasting or magazine as a form of article type advertisement to specific medical specialists or medical institution or medical treatment method that falsifies consumers or makes consumers confused by unjust medical expectations or reliability, that also deteriorates just competition and that causes the misrecognition of consumers. In fact, there were actual damages of article type advertisements on the eye whitening surgery not long after the transfer to a negative system of medical advertisements. Victims raised a medical proceeding against the doctor who carried out the surgery, but there is actually no systematic warranty except for the indemnity request. Thus, this case demonstrated a vulnerable result of a negative system. As such, it is problematic that there is no proper regulations defined in the current law and regulations because of the reason of the protection of the freedom of press, publication and occupation despite damages of such article type advertisements. Accordingly, it is urgent to apply the current prevention regulations on the article type advertisements strictly, and to set up specific regulations.

The study was implemented by means of a descriptive survey method using a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 534 consumers between the ages of 13 and 59, residing in the Seoul area. The survey for the study was conducted during the period of October 10 through December 5, in 2008. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's Test were employed for the analysis of data gathered. The results revealed that there are differences with regard to the degree that the functional/aesthetic factors of sport shoes contribute to the motivation for brand-switching, when assessed with respect to the age and gender of consumers. The contributory degrees of situational factors and social/emotional curiosity factors of consumers are also different with regard to the motivation for brand-switching behavior of sport shoe consumers in accordance with their age and gender. Therefore, marketing strategies related to brand-switching behavior will be more effective when they are differentiated according to the target age and gender, even with respect to the same type of product, such as sport shoes.

  • Food consumption trends in Korea are becoming more health-oriented, and consumers have become interested in high-quality foods that are also beneficial to health. The goals of this study are to examine consumers' impressions of black garlic and to investigate the preferred optimal attribute combinations related to black garlic. To do this, a survey of 352 consumers was used to analyze the current status of consumer purchases of black garlic. A conjoint analysis was conducted to analyze certain aspects of consumer preferences, such as price, health functional food certification status, processing type, and taste. Consumers' purchase experiences with black garlic were relatively few, but those with purchase experience reported that they consumed it mainly for their health. The results show that consumers are not satisfied with the taste and flavor of black garlic despite their perceiving it as a beneficial food for health. Despite the fact that consumers' purchase intentions were found to be low, it can greatly increase if improvements in price, flavor, and taste can be realized and if offering substantial benefits. The results of the conjoint analysis of the preference attributes of black garlic products are as follows. Consumers considered price among the four attributes as most important. The taste of black garlic and the processing style were similar in terms of importance, and health functional food certification was less important. Finally, the results suggest that continuous improvements in price and flavor are needed to spread the consumption of black garlic.

  • The aim of this study was to classify Korean consumers based on their food-related lifestyle type, and to investigate the relationship between sushi consumption and food-related lifestyle type. Self-reported questionnaires were completed by 300 Korean adults. The SPSS 18.0 program was used to analyze the samples. Data was analyzed by frequency, descriptive factor, reliability, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and chi-square test. A factor analysis extracted four factors comprising foodrelated lifestyle, which we named Health-seeking (factor 1), Taste-seeking (factor 2), Convenience-seeking (factor 3), and Economy-seeking (factor 4). According to a cluster analysis based on those four factors, consumers were classified into three clusters. Cluster 1 was the Taste and Health-seeking cluster, Cluster 2 was the Convenience-seeking cluster, and Cluster 3 was the Passive Eating Habits cluster. The results also indicated that the selection attributes of each cluster were significantly different in terms of perception, the global state of sushi, sushi preference, frequency, companions, place of sushi consumption, and preference for different sushi sub-ingredients. Based on these results, consumer characteristics in the sushi market are discussed.

  • The purpose of this research is to study the influence over confidence and Word-Of-Mouth (WOM) effect in the acceptance process of WOM by information characteristics(consensus, vividness, and message neutrality) of individual cosmetic blog, reflecting that it is widely spreading over the public. Online survey for the consumers using such blogs was performed to collect data(N=200), and credibility analysis through Cronbach-${\alpha}$ and Structural Equation Model(SEM) analysis using AMOS 18.0 were performed. The analysis results are as follows; First, vivid information and neutral message increase WOM effect through the improvement of consumers' credibility whereas information consensus doesn't positively influence over credibility. Second, the examination of a moderating effect by type of cosmetics demonstrated that the consumers of basic cosmetics have most confidence in vivid information, and those of color cosmetics do more confidence in neutral message. Therefore, there is a difference in the credibility factor of online WOM depending on the type of cosmetics consumption so that differentiated information provision strategies for cosmetics groups should be established based on it.

Consumer value and unethicality are significant effect on the type of consumer complaint behaviors such as no action, private action only, public action only, and both private and action. The orientation of achievement and pleasure among consumers' value is associated with the higher level of complaint behaviors compared with no action. In terms of consumers' unethicality, no harm unethicality is associated with the types of each consumer complaint behavior except no action. On the other hand, both proactive and passive unethicality increase the possibility of no action. The policy implications of the consumer education are suggested as well as the directions of customer management strategies in the business sector.
