  • The Objective of this study was to investigate the consumer attitude and purchase willingness of internet insurance. Data were collected from 412 adult consumers who had bought car insurance at least once. Results showed that respondents have positive as well as negative attitude toward internet insurance. The best thing of internet insurance seems tn be the low rate of insurance premium while the worst thing seems to be the risk of personal information disclosure. However, about two thirds of respondents answered that they were willing to purchase internet insurance if the insurance premium were discounted more than $25\%$ of what they paid offline. The more consumer attitude was positive, the more consumers were willing to purchase internet insurance. In general, consumer attitude and purchase willingness of internet insurance vary with consumers' demographic and socio-economic characteristics.

The interaction between internet shopping malls and the consumer was categorized by two factors such as content-people interaction and people-people interaction. In addition, each interactive factor showed mediating effects between relationship benefits and consumer's purchase intention.

  • This study examined: 1) the influence of 3 social presence types including shopping companions, other consumers, and sales associates on the consumer's purchase decision at a retail store; 2) the difference in the influence by shopping situation involving shopping together or shopping alone; and 3) the differences by consumer susceptibility to social influence and self-confidence. The study conducted three experiments with the retail shopping scenario manipulating consumer's positive self-evaluation, but lack of confidence after trying on a clothing product. Experiment 1 and Experiment 2 examined the positive influence of social presence while Experiment 3 examined the negative influence. The results showed that the positive comment of a shopping companion had the highest influence on the purchase decision. Such impact was more observable under the low susceptibility to normative influence. The negative comments of sales associate and shopping companion lowered the purchase decision. There was no difference by shopping situation. The results imply that influences of social presence on the consumer's purchase decision are different by positive or negative comments and such influences are not different by shopping situation.

  • This study examined how chicken breed affects consumer behavior. The breeds evaluated were a Korean native chicken (KNC) and a commercial broiler (CB). Consumer behavior was measured by evaluating sensory attributes (taste, odor, and texture) and purchase behaviors [satisfaction, purchase intention, and willingness to pay (WTP)]. The sensory evaluation was conducted using healthy Korean consumers (n=100). The chicken was cooked in baeksuk (Korean traditional chicken soup), which is a seasonal summer health food in Korea. The participants evaluated sensory attributes and purchase behaviors between blinded samples of baeksuk (CB) and unblinded samples of baeksuk (KNC). The sensory evaluation involved chicken breasts and legs. The participants considered KNC as having a more umami taste, a chewier and juicer texture, and a less metallic odor than CB. Moreover, when participants were given KNC breed information, they expressed higher satisfaction, purchase intention, and WTP. The results of this study contribute to consumer behavior literature by revealing the effects of breed information on consumer sensory perceptions and purchase behaviors. Furthermore, the findings provide evidence that branding KNC is one way to increase its demand and low market share while contributing to sustainable consumption.

  • This study analyzes consumer fashion purchase patterns from a big data perspective. Transaction data from 1 million transactions at two Korean fashion brands were collected. To analyze the data, R, Python, the SPADE algorithm, and network analysis were used. Various consumer purchase patterns, including overall purchase patterns, seasonal purchase patterns, and age-specific purchase patterns, were analyzed. Overall pattern analysis found that a continuous purchase pattern was formed around the brands' popular items such as t-shirts and blouses. Network analysis also showed that t-shirts and blouses were highly centralized items. This suggests that there are items that make consumers loyal to a brand rather than the cachet of the brand name itself. These results help us better understand the process of brand equity construction. Additionally, buying patterns varied by season, and more items were purchased in a single shopping trip during the spring season compared to other seasons. Consumer age also affected purchase patterns; findings showed an increase in purchasing the same item repeatedly as age increased. This likely reflects the difference in purchasing power according to age, and it suggests that the decision-making process for pur- chasing products simplifies as age increases. These findings offer insight for fashion companies' establishment of item-specific marketing strategies.

  • The electronic commerce of agricultural products provides benefits both to the farmers and the consumers because of direct transaction between producers and consumers. This study analyses the factors affecting consumer's purchase intention that are using electronic commerce. And the purpose of this study is to contribute to increasing the farmer's income while operating electronic commerce by applying the results of this analysis. Consumer's purchasing factors in electronic commerce were obtained through literature reviews. The research model is established with the factors and analyses through the structural equation model. The results are as following; the first is how the quality of agricultural products affects positively consumer's satisfaction and trust. When sufficient information about the seller and the products are provided in the shopping mall site there are positive effects on the consumer's satisfaction and trust. The factors of convenience like purchasing time, saving, delivery convenience affect positively consumer's satisfaction. However, the relationship with trust enhancement could not be confirmed. In addition, hypotheses of positive relationships between economic feasibility factors like low price, satisfaction and trust, were rejected. Finally, consumer's satisfaction affects trust, and both the consumer's satisfaction and trust affects positively the purchase intention. In summary, in the electronic commerce of agricultural products, consumers might use electronic commerce as they purchase the reliable high quality products directly from farmers rather than be affected by economic feasibility and convenience factors.
