Development of the Effective COPQ Management System (효율적인 COPQ 관리체계 구축)

  • One of the primary means of achieving global competitiveness is to reduce the COPQ in our business units. Although the COPQ is not known precisely, it is known to be very high. Also, it may be underestimated by the hidden costs due to non-value added activities, such as potential lost sales, costs of redesign due to quality reasons, and extra manufacturing costs due to defects, etc. In any manufacturing or service operation, all actions and resource expenditures of a company should be focused on creating value for customers. Any activity or resource of not creating the value for customers could be regarded as waste, which consequently causes the COPQ. In this paper, a management system is developed for evaluating and reporting the COPQ in our business units, based on the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) roadmap.

  • A smart city refers to an intelligent city solving problems arising from the concentration its population using IT technology. Various services such as safety, transportation, environment, education, and medical care are provided in a smart city. Still, the degree of service experienced by the residents is lower compared to the technological maturity. Hence, the service acceptance intention factor needs to be improved. In this study, User Characteristic and Service Characteristic variables were identified separately to improve the awareness and experience of smart services among citizens of the smart city and analyze the intention of easy service acceptance. Based on the results, the present study is expected to improve citizen's quality of life and form a happy society. This improvement in citizens and society is achieved by drawing active participation from citizens and investments from the government and private enterprise through solving various problems in the city.

  • In recent years, it has been supporting sustainable growth to be a longevity company such as training, consulting, finding and rewarding excellent companies, and tax support for the smooth family business succession of family businesses. The smooth family business succession of these companies has positive effects such as maintaining and improving technological competitiveness, maintaining stable employment, creating long-term investment and new jobs. However, since the concept of the family dominant business is still unfamiliar in Korea, the research on the family dominant business is also insufficient. Now, as family dominant business have a very high share in the national economy, there is a need for research on family dominant business in Korea. Therefore, this study conducted an empirical research on succession process consulting satisfaction of family business centered on small business owners and analyzed the difference of it.

  • The concern of personal and social security has been increased all over the world with each passing day by the international terrorism and the domestic crime of violence grew gradually in the late of 70's and the early of 80's. The Security-Guard Industry, especially, has been growing rapidly by the starting from the 911 terror in 2001, therefore there has been increasing the supply and demand of Security Service in Korea explosively by the reasons, Actually, the Facilities Security Service is increased actively more than the VIP security Service among them. So, most of the Security-Guard Companies in Korea also have treated the Facilities Security Service at present. Although the importance of quality at the Facilities Security Service, especially mechanical equipments and systems, is on the rise, actually the studies about relations with the Service Quality and the Client's Satisfaction are quite insufficient at the field of Security-Guard Science study in the actual situation. As a result, the purposes of this study are to contribute for composing the knowledge of Security-Guard Science and to offer the basic data for elevating the Service Quality and Client's Satisfaction by consulting other studies. In order to achieve the purposes of this study, we compare and analyze how the Service Quality have affect on the difference of Client's Satisfaction by the client's characteristic of sociology and demography, then we find out the effect to the Service Quality for Client's Satisfaction, finally we try to show the vision of the Security-Guard Company's future in Korea. 1. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION FRAMEWORK FOR ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS OF TAIPEI RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEMS

  • The quality of performance evaluation on engineering consultants that provide design-related technical services is difficult to be measured, and only a handful of papers discussed the quality during the design stage. Although design cost is relatively far less than construction cost for a project, the decisions made in the design phase have a significant impact on the final products of the project, especially for large public construction projects. Therefore, this research focuses on reviewing and then establishing a performance evaluation framework for the consulting firms that execute detailed design and provide technical services for the Taipei Rapid Transit Systems (TRTS). By interviewing experts, this study first established a set of indicators to evaluate these firms' performance. Then, those indicators were incorporated into the four aspects of balanced scorecard (BSC) to establish the architecture of the evaluation mechanism. The weight of each indicator was calculated by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) from a survey conducted among experts. The results showed that the top-three indicators were quantity take-off, functions conformity, and budgeting. The framework of performance evaluation established by this study can be applied to measure service performance during the design stage. It not only facilitates the monitoring of consulting firms, but also helps to reduce unnecessary change orders and disputes during the construction stage.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the operation of shopping mall by examining the effect of service characteristics of Greenanum on customer satisfaction, repurchase and recommendation intention. The hypothesis was verified with SPSS22.0 and PROCESS macro 3.5. As a result, some hypotheses were supported between satisfaction, repurchase, and recommendation for service characteristics. Second, positive effects were found between satisfaction and repurchase, and recommendation intention. Third, a mediating effect appeared. Implications include improvement of low site awareness, benchmarking, and product quality improvement. In the future, it will be necessary to study the differences in the various characteristics of the products sold rather than the differentiation of the shopping mall itself.

  • To generate a multicast routing tree guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS), we consider the hop constrained Steiner tree problem and propose a new mathematical formulation for it, which contains fewer constraints than a known formulation. An efficient procedure is also proposed to solve the problem. Preliminary tests show that the procedure reduces the computing time significantly.

  • This paper aims to investigate the moderating effects of relationship quality between support services of food service franchisor and performance(re-contract intention) in food service franchise. For analyzing the relationship of them, the support services of food service franchisor categorized with initial service and continuous service. Also, the factors of relationship quality(satisfaction, trust, commitment) classified into detailed subfactor by confirmatory factor analysis. As a result, we found some statistically significant effects between the support services of food service franchisor and factors of relationship quality, and they sequentially affects to re-contract intention. Also, it's analyzed that factors of relationship quality have a role as a moderating variables by research model. That is, as a presented with previous research, there is verified that relationship quality is caused by support services of food service franchisor. Also, relationship quality factors significantly affect to performance(re-contract intention). Some guidelines for practicing potential food service franchise as a result of this would include; first of all, it is important to support the potential food service franchise consulting approach for some competitive advantage; secondly, effective governmental support programs for food service franchise should be developed for positive impacts of according to these results.

  • Until now, because a new product (or facility) launched in market has been retired from one year of age, we can have had ASL by stub-curve method by Iowa curve. Recently, many innovative products with important role in market like display and solar-cell etc. are more durable and, what are better, they have the constant variance in ASL because of their good quality. Of course, there are some ones like smart mobile phone with relatively big dispersion in ASL. Estimating ASL of products like display and solar-cell etc., the new approach is needed. In this paper a new method applied traditional Iowa curve with accelerated reliability test (indoor/outdoor) etc. is proposed.

  • Enhancing the performance of maritime wireless communication has been highlighted by the issue of cell planning in the sea area because of lack of an appropriate Propagation Loss Model (PLM). To resolve the cell planning issue in vast sea areas, it was essential to develop the (PLM) matching the intended sea area. However, there were considerable gaps between the prediction of legacy PLMs and field measurement in propagation loss and there was a need to develop the adjusted PLM (A-PLM). Therefore, cell planning was performed on this adjusted model, including modification of the base station's location, altitude, and antenna azimuth to meet the quality objectives. Furthermore, in order to verify the availability of the cell planning, Communication Service Quality Monitoring System (CS-QMS) was developed in the LTE-Maritime project to collect LTE signal quality information from the onboard equipment at regular intervals and to ensure that the service quality was high enough to satisfy the goals in each designated grid. As a result of verification, the success rate of RSRP was 95.7% for the intensive management zone (IMZ) and 96.4% for the interested zone (IZ), respectively.
