말레이지아 바쿤 가배수로 터널의 철근콘크리트 라이닝 설계 (Design of the reinforced concrete lining in bakun diversion tunnels)

  • 바쿤 수력발전 프로젝트에서 발전댐의 건설은 가배수로 터널의 완공에 따라 시작되믈 공사기간 측면에서 가배수로 터널의 완공시기는 전체 프로젝트에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 바쿤 가배수로 터널의 내부단면은 물의 저항을 최대한 줄이기 위하여 원형으로 설계되었으며, 내부직경 12m 인 3개의 터널로 구성되어 있다. 일반적으로 터널 시공과정의 마무리 단계에서 수행되는 터널 라이닝 작업은 굴착 및 지반보강 공정과 더불어 시공비와 공사기간에 많은 영향을 끼치므로 적정한 수준의 라이닝 설계가 요구된다. 바쿤 가배수로 터널에 있어, 라이니으이 두께는현장여건에 따라 다소 차이가 있으나 500~700mm로 타설되었다. 가배수로 터널의 원설계안에 따르면 터널내 전체 라이닝에 필요한 보강콘크리트의 철근량은 5,985 ton 이었으나, 암반의 상태와 여러종류의 하중조건을 고려하여 5종류의 철근 보강 콘크리트 유형으로 구분한 후에 각각의 유형에 따른 상세설계를 통하여 최종적으로 소요 철근량을 2,178 ton으로 감소시킬 수 있었다. 감소된 양은 원설계에서 제시된 양의 절반에 해당되며, 이에 따라 공사기간 및 건설비용을 절감시킬 수 있었다.

  • 건축 프로젝트의 초기 기획조사단계에서 발주자의 예산결정을 위하여 사업비에 대한 통계적 추정방법 연구는 다수 이루어졌으나, 파라미터기반 개략견적 방법은 설계진행 중의 설계자 의사결정과 이로 인한 공사비 산정 및 관리업무와의 연계가 이루어지지 않아 설계실무에 활용하기에는 제약이 있다. 한편 실시설계안이 도출된 후 상세견적에 의해 산정된 공사비가 예산을 초과한 경우, 마감수준 등을 국부적으로 임의 조정하여 설계를 확정하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사무소 건축물을 대상으로 계획설계 및 기본설계단계에서 설계자의 의사결정 프로세스와 연계하여 마감공사비를 용이하게 산정하고, 설계대안의 평가를 지원할 수 있는 프로토타입기반 마감공사비 산정 모델을 개발하였다. 제시된 모델은 건축물을 설계프로세스에 따라 부위별 분류체계에 의해 분할하고, 상세견적 된 기존 사무소 건물의 프로토타입이 축적된 데이터베이스로부터 각 실별 부위선정을 통한 설계대안을 생성하고 그 공사비를 견적하게 한다. 제시된 프로토타입기반의 모델에 대하여 설계와 시공정보를 통합하는 연결체로서의 유효성과 실무설계에서의 적용성을 확인하기 위해 사례검증을 실시하였다.

  • Task based modeling is essential in a construction operation simulation modeling. It allows dealing with local variables or delay factors that affect productivity and improves the reusability of existing operation models. An operation model can secure reality only if it reflects the real construction processes by effectively dealing with zoning issue. However, system users have some difficulties in modeling a construction operation that is consisted of several processes having different production units. Zoning is a major modeling issue when the task based modeling method is implemented using the existing discrete event simulation systems. This paper highlights the difficulty and presents a new method that complements the zoning issues attributed to different production units. The method is described in detail by presenting the flow of entities. It is confirmed that the zoning method effectively deals with the unbalance of production units between processes and facilitates to model an operation model having processes with different production units. The "Zoning module" contributes to increasing accuracy of simulation result.

공동주택단지 외부공간 친환경 요소의 적용현황 및 개선점 연구 (A Study on the Improvement and Application of Environmentally-Friendly Factors at Outdoor Spaces in Apartment Complexes)

  • This study investigated how external environmentally-friendly factors adopted to improve the quality of outdoor spaces have been designed and used in the construction of apartment complexes. The goal of this study is to determine what areas should be improved through environmentally-friendly ways to create natural outdoor spaces in apartment complexes and enhance their availability and usefulness. For this study, 21 environmentally-friendly factors were chosen and a checklist by specific item was prepared. This study examine how these items were applied to basic planning, detail design, and construction in 4 target areas. As a result, it was found that the development of environmentally-friendly residential areas was an ultimate goal of the project during basic planning and design. All target areas focused on developing an inner greens network, eco-pond, brook, and pedestrian track as well as the growth of a variety of plants. Some differences have been observed, however, in terms of method. Furthermore, due to economic and technological problems and poor construction site conditions, green walls/green roofs/pedestrian tracks/use of rainwater have not been properly promoted. These kinds of problems must be improved through the development of environmentally-friendly construction methods and materials, the expansion of natural grounds areas, economic support, a satisfactory repair and maintenance system.

  • In architecture, each project participant must maintain organic relationship with others. However, current practices are rather procedural and discrete than organic, which result in considerable inefficiencies. The cool-downs of Korean construction market also force the architects to be familiar with the new construction methods and systems. This research mainly focuses on the pre-development stage of such systems, analysing relationships between the information of architectural design and other parts of construction information like structure, construction, environment, and so forth. The result of analysis can be organized into attributes of members in a physical building, which can be modeled in a 3D system. The resulting model can be used for automated generation of drawing, Bill of Materials, finite element meshes for structural analysis and energy analysis, etc. by extracting meaningful information from it. Hence, the purpose of this research is to analysis the relationship among domain-specific information (e.g. structural engineering, construction detail, energy evaluation) that are represented in drawings, and to represent the attributes of the information relevantly so that they can be applied to each unit task that forms the whole project. Therefore, an object oriented methodology is introduced to compose design informations in three dimension, and expressing properties of building factors and materials, and to construct a database for computers to recognize architecture informations.

Automation of Roadway Lighting Illuminance Measurement

  • Roadway lighting is an integral element of a highway system. Luminaires on roadways provide viewing conditions for drivers and pedestrians during nighttime in order to improve safety. It is time-consuming and labor-intensive to manually measure roadway illuminance at predetermined spots with a handheld illuminance meter. To improve the efficiency of illuminance measurement, a remote-control electrical cart and a drone were utilized to carry an illuminance meter for the measurements. The measurements were performed on the marked grid points along the pavement. To measure the illuminance manually, one person measures illuminance at each grid point with the handheld meter and another person records the illuminance value. To measure the illuminance with the remote-control cart, the illuminance meter is attached to the cart and it measures illuminance values continuously as the cart moves along the grid lines. With the drone, the meter records the illuminance continuously as the drone carries the meter and flies along the grid line. Because the drone can fly at different heights, the measurements can be done at different altitudes. The illuminance measurements using the cart and the drone are described in detail and compared with manual measurements in this paper. It is shown through this study that automated measurements can greatly improve the efficiency of roadway illuminance data measurements.

WHAT IS THE VALUE AND IMPACT OF EARLY DISPUTE EVALUATION IN THE UK AND INTERNATIONALLY?

  • Early neutral evaluation (ENE) is a fairly recent form of alternative dispute resolution procedure used in the construction industry. In the UK, ENE is usually carried out on an entirely without prejudice basis, however the parties may agree that any or part of it may be referred to at trial or any subsequent hearing. The early neutral evaluation consists of a preliminary assessment of the issues in dispute for use as a basis for negotiations which may result in a settlement of the dispute. An independent person is appointed by the parties who reviews the case and provides an opinion, in written form and in some detail, with reasons on the merits of the matters in dispute. The opinion is non-binding but provides the parties with what in the opinion of the independent person a formal tribunal may decide whether a court or an arbitrator, if the dispute is not resolved. However, ENE has yet to take off in the construction industry in the UK. This paper will explain this procedure and explore the use of it in the UK and internationally, considering the benefits and drawbacks of its use. It will consider whether or not it is more effective than other early resolution forms such as mediation and adjudication. It will argue and conclude that it is a very useful cost effective procedure, particularly in the resolution of complex disputes, whether local or international.

On the measurement of the transient dynamics of the nanocomposites reinforced concrete systems as the main part of bridge construction

  • Nanocomposite-reinforced concrete systems have gained increasing attention in bridge construction due to their enhanced mechanical properties and durability. Understanding the transient dynamics of these advanced materials is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and performance of bridge infrastructure under dynamic loading conditions. This paper presents a comprehensive study of the measurement techniques employed for assessing the transient dynamics of nanocompositereinforced concrete systems in bridge construction applications. A numerical method, including modal analysis are discussed in detail, highlighting their advantages, limitations, and applications. Additionally, recent advancements in sensor technologies, data acquisition systems, and signal processing techniques for capturing and analyzing transient responses are explored. The paper also addresses challenges and opportunities in the measurement of transient dynamics, such as the characterization of nanocomposite-reinforced concrete materials, the development of accurate numerical models, and the integration of advanced sensing technologies into bridge monitoring systems. Through a critical review of existing literature and case studies, this paper aims to provide insights into best practices and future directions for the measurement of transient dynamics in nanocompositereinforced concrete systems, ultimately contributing to the design, construction, and maintenance of resilient and sustainable bridge infrastructure.

건설현장 안전문화의 정량적 평가지표 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on the development of Quantitative assessment indicator of safety culture for the construction site)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 건설안전문화수준에 대한 정량적 평가를 위한 평가지표를 개발하여 건설현장의 안전문화수준 및 각 안전문화 요소의 수준을 평가함으로써 사고 예방을 위해 중점적으로 개선하여야 하는 분야를 제시할 수 있도록 하기 위한 것이다. 이 논문에서는 안전문화에 대한 선행연구를 분석하여 기존 안전문화 연구에서 안전문화의 중요 요소로 도출된 항목들을 계층적으로 분류하고 분류된 안전문화 요소에 대해 건설현장 전문가들의 의견을 반영한 AHP 분석방법론을 이용하여 건설안전문화 평가지표를 제시하였다. 건설안전문화 평가지표는 리더십, 시스템, 개인적 특성의 세부 항목들을 구조화하고 쌍대비교하여 가중치를 도출함으로써 세부 중요 평가지표를 정량화하여 건설안전문화 수준을 평가할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발한 건설 안전문화 평가지표를 활용하여 건설현장 안전문화 평가를 실시함으로써 각 건설현장 안전문화 정착을 위해 개선하여야 하는 방향을 도출하고 건설현장 안전사고 예방에 기여하고자 한다.

강박스교량 공사비 특성 분석 (Analysis on Characteristic of Construction Cost for Steel Box Bridge)

  • 설계단계별 적정공사비를 산출하는 것은 건설공사의 효율적인 예산확보 및 집행에 있어서 중요한 이슈의 하나이다. 이러한 것을 고려하여 본 연구에서는 강교량 공사비 산출을 위한 기본자료 구축의 일환으로 기존 설계된 강교량의 수량 및 단가산출서, 내역 산출서 등의 설계내역서를 분석하여 강박스 교량의 기본적인 제원 특성 등을 조사하고자 한다. 또한 강박스교량의 예정가격 공사비 특성과 교량 공사 공종별과의 상관관계를 평가하는 것에 의해 향후 강교량 기획단계의 적정공사비 산정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하여 효율적이고 타당한 적정공사비 산정모델 구축을 위한 기본 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 이상의 연구 결과 전체 공사비에서 각 공종이 차지하는 비율 및 단위 공사비를 산출하였으며, 강교량 공사비의 영향요인을 도출하였다.
