This study aimed to evaluate the impact of mechanizing onion harvesting on labor reduction and work efficiency in Shinan Area. The mechanized harvesting system comprised a stem cutter, digging harvester, and collector. The field tests showed that the average residual stem length after using the stem cutter was 13.22±5.01 cm, with a stem cutting ratio of 91.3% and a damage ratio of 0%. The digging harvester achieved a digging ratio of 100% and a damage ratio of 1.2%, while the collector's damage ratio was 4.1%, loss ratio was 2.7%, and debris mixing ratio was 3.2%. The total working capacity of the mechanized system was 2.3 h/10a, significantly reducing 97.2% of labor time compared to manpower. These results indicate that the mechanization of onion harvesting can effectively reduce labor costs and increase work efficiency. Future research should include performance verification in various environments and an economic analysis of the mechanized system.

The calculation of the natural frequencies versus Young's modulus of carbon nanotubes with modified continuum shell is the subject of current research. When designing these tubes, it is important to understand their frequencies because excessive vibrations might cause fatigue. These tubes are designed and built to meet specific needs and have been suitably modified to investigate their vibratory response. There are numerous uses for carbon nanotube free vibration analysis in the mechanical sciences. The fundamental frequency with Young's modulus for clamped-free and simply supported end conditions, which is connected to the carbon nanotubes, is calculated theoretically for chiral single carbon nanotubes. When Young's modulus rises, so does the frequency curve pattern. Young's modulus influences the single-walled carbon nanotube's dynamic response by simulating it as a modified continuum shell. The Young's modulus of chiral tube and the value of frequency increased as the chiral tube's index increased. The results are checked against past studies to ensure the problem's validity and are determined to be accurate.

In the agricultural machinery field, load analysis is mostly done through field tests. However, field tests are time-consuming and costly. There are also limitations in test conditions due to weather conditions. To overcome these environmental limitations, research on load analysis through simulation in a virtual environment is actively being conducted. This study aimed to select the most appropriate soil particle size for modeling by analyzing the effect of soil particle size on the prediction of draft force of the implement using simulation and soil particle modeling in a virtual environment with the discrete element method (DEM) software. The accuracy was verified by simulating the draft force for the same moving speed by soil particle size. For soil particle modeling, DEM soil modeling was performed by designing soil property measurement procedure. Soil particle correction was performed with a virtual vane shear test. Average DEM simulation results showed an error of 27.39% (19.43~40.66%) compared to actual measured data. The possibility of improvement was confirmed through additional research. Results of this study provide useful information for selecting soil particle size in soil modeling using DEM from the perspective of agricultural machinery research.

With the ever-increasing importance of high-speed information in society as we move towards the 21 st century, telecommunication laboratories of advanced nations are pressing forward with research and development aimed at implementing its W & P(Visual Intelligent and Personal) services and construction of a new network to support them. In legals to the former, based on a long-term view of technological and market trends, those laboratories are researching and developing services that will make possible an effective progression from the development of services that answer to potential needs towards the full-scale implementation of VI & P services. In regards to the latter, these laboratories are responding in a flexible manner to the increasing diversity and disposal of the communications environment by separating the network into a transmission system and a versatile information control/conversion -ion system and laboratories are working at enhancing the performance of both. Within these board aims, the laboratories are currently focusing our attention in three areas : the technology for a high-speed broadband transmission system featuring optical frequency multiplexing and ATM techniques, network and software technologies for advanced information control and conversion, and technology for constructing a new access network that can provide a comprehensive range of multimedia services. This article describes the laboratories' concept of how VI & P services will develop in the future, and the latest trends in the field of communications. It also describes the ideal configuration of the new network and discusses the important technological aspects of how it is to be constructed. Finally, it presents the results of the laboratories'recent research which include some innovative work, point out the areas requiring future investigation.

The project for rehabilitation and revegetation of the abandoned coal-mine lands is a very important national environmental restoration project in the view point of rehabilitation and revegetation of denuded forest-lands caused by coal mining as well as restoration of disturbed natural environment and control of the variable pollutions. In Korea, because a large number of coal mines had been developed in order to fill up abundantly consumption of coal as a major energy source in the developing period, a lot of denuded forest-lands caused by coal mining had distributed in the whole country. And, due to the absence of effective rehabilitation and revegetation works on the denuded forestlands caused by coal-mining, most of them had been remained with being damaged. In 1990, area of the abandoned coal-mine lands, requiring the rehabilitation and revegetation works, was about 1,437.1 ha. For the past ten years ('90~'99), about 1,081.8 ha out of them had been rehabilitated and revegetated, and the rehabilitation planning area was about 33.0 ha in 2000. So, remaining area out of abandoned coal-mine lands will be about 322.3 ha after 2000. In principle, after abandoning coal-mine, mine owners must carry out the rehabilitation and revegetation works on the abandoned mine lands by themselves. But, most of mine owners were in financial difficulty after abandoning coal-mine, so that principle couldn't have obtained the desired effects. To solve this problem, from 1995, Coal Industry Promotion Board (CIPB) have carried out the rehabilitation and revegetation works on the abandoned coal-mine lands at government budgets, and they have obtained good results in the construction area. However, due to application of the "conventional erosion control measures and techniques" to the rehabilitation and revegetation measures on the abandoned coal-mine lands, the results and effects of the works excuted have not been successful. Therefore, unique measures and techniques for rehabilitation and revegetation of the abandoned coal-mine lands will have to be developed, especially including development of new techniques on the soil-dressing and soil-covering, seed spray and hydro-seeding measures with seed-fertilizer-soil materials as the mechanized measures, and using of new materials for the tree planting and seedling measures.
A Gram-negative bacterium was isolated from mushroom media that markedly reduces the level of extracellular toxins (i.e., tolaasins) produced by Pseudomonas tolaasii, the most destructive pathogen of cultivated mushrooms. The HC1 strain was selected as detoxifying tolaasin by bioassay on potato and it was identified Pseudomonas sp. by the cultural, morphological and physiological characteristics, and analysis of the 16S rRNA. The isolated bacterium is saprophytic but not parasitic nor pathogenic to cultivation mushroom. The isolated bacterium for P. tolaasii cell, was sufficient for detoxification in vitro. Inoculation of the isolated bacterium prevents the development of bacterial disease in Pleurotus ostreatus, Flammunia velutipes and Agaricus bisporus. Control efficacy of brown blotch of strain HC1 treatment was 69, 68 and 55% on Agaricus bisporus, Flammulina velutipes and Pleurotus ostreatus, respectively. The suppressive bacterium may be useful in future for the development of biocontrol system and the construction of genetically modified edible fungi resistant to the disease caused by P. tolaasii.

The purpose of this study is to assess the green environment on urban space and to suggest the sustainable green space planning. The study area is Dalseo-gu which has the biggest spatial imbalance of green space among 7 districts of Daegu. Three functions such as nature-ecological, environment-control, and usage function were established for assessing the green environment. For the assessment step of nature-ecological function, 'green connectivity' and 'animal movement' were used. Also,'thermal environment' and 'temperature decrease' were utilized in terms of environment-control function and 'green space's service supply' were utilized in terms of usage function. According to the results of integrated assessment, the green rich zone(Grade I) was 44.8% of total area in Dalseo and this zone was distributed along the southern forest of Mt. Ap and Mt. Biseul and the northern forest of Mt. Gung and Mt. Waryong. On the other hand, the green broken zone(Grade IV) was located in the residential areas of Gamsam and Jukjeon and the residential and industrial areas of Wolseong 1 and Jincheon and this zone was 5.5% of total area. The findings from this study can be used as the plan criteria for construction and distribution of green space in urban master plan.
Many researches have been performed on concrete with fly ash and bottom ash. However researches on concrete with pond ash (PA) and its application to RC (Reinforced Concrete) structure are limitedly carried out. This paper presents an applicability of PA concrete in construction of real size structure. Referring to the previous study, 2 domestic PA samples with normal performance are selected and 2 replacement ratios (25% and 50%) to fine aggregate are considered for 5 PA concrete structures consisting of column, slab, and wall. In order to evaluate the property of fresh concrete, several tests including air content, slump, and setting time are performed. Using cored out samples from hardened PA concrete structure, tests for strength, resistance to carbonation and chloride penetration are carried out and compared with control samples. Additionally, tests for rebound hardness, drying shrinkage, and hydration heat are performed for PA concrete structure. The test results showed that PA concrete has reasonable strength and durability performances compared to those of normal concrete. Therefore, its potential application to RC structure is promising. The PA aggregate can be more actively used for RC structures with better quality control for content of fly ash, bottom ash, and unburned carbon.

As Social Welfare Service Act was revised in 2011 and its enforcement decree was revised in 2012, the function of local social welfare center was classified into 3 functions such as case control function, service supply function and local society systematization function. Therefore, from 2013, local social welfare center faces the assignment to establish its status as a core subjectivity of local social welfare while maintaining function, role, business, program, service and organization system required for local social welfare center. Currently, there are internal and external limit factors for local social welfare center to perform its original function. The external limit factors are competition with similar organization, diversification of welfare desire depending on social change, insufficient service network construction and lack of partnership between private sector and government. The internal limit factors are lack of local social organization's ability, program issue, insufficient resource, insufficient manpower, etc. In order for local social welfare center to overcome the limit factor and establish the core status for improving the life quality of resident, it should concentrate its ability on local society systematization, construct human & material support network related to local social welfare, minimize social education program and simple relief project gradually, suggest the reasonable direction for village to nurture resident organization, develop the program based on the research on local resident's desire and create the partnership between private sector and government.

This study is empirically intended to put forward the modeling and process improvement measures for the SCM capability in small venture firms. The findings are summarized as follows. There were strategic alliance, technological development and centralization in the modeling of strategic planning for supply chain, not the least of which is strategic alliance, followed by centralization and technological development. There were routing scheduling, network integration and third party logistics outsourcing in decision making, not the least of which was network integration. There were customer service management, productivity management and quality management in management control, not the least of which was quality management. And there were order management choice, pricing demand, shipment delivery and customer management in transaction support system, not the least of which was order management choice. As for the above-mentioned findings, to maximize the SCM capability and operate the optimized process in small venture firms, the existing strategic alliances can optimize the quality management and stabilize the transaction support system through the network sharing and integration from the perspective of relevant organizational members' capability and process improvement. And the strategic linkage between firms can maximize the integrated capability of information system beyond the simple exchange relation between electronic data, achieving a differentiated competitive advantage. Consequently, the systematization and centralization for the maximization of SCM capability, including the infrastructure construction based on the system compatibility and reliability for information integration, should be preceded before the modeling of the integrated capability for optimum supply chain and the best process management in the smart era.
