Soil erosion has been issued in many countries since it causes negative impacts on ecosystem at the receiving water bodies. Therefore best management practices to resolve the problem in a watershed have been developed and implemented. As a prior process, there is a need to define soil erosion level and to identify the area of concern regarding soil erosion so that the practices are effective as they are designed. Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) were developed to estimate potential soil erosion and many Geographic Information System (GIS) models employ USLE to estimate soil erosion. Sediment Assessment Tool for Effective Erosion Control (SATEEC) is one of the models, the model provided several opportunities to consider various watershed peculiarities such as breaking of slope length, monthly variation of rainfall, crop growth at agricultural fields, etc. SATEEC is useful to estimate soil erosion, however the model can be implemented with ArcView software that is no longer used or hard to use currently. Therefore SATEEC based on ArcView was rebuild for the ArcGIS software with all modules provided at the previous version. The rebuilt SATEEC, ArcSATEEC, was programmed in ArcPy and works as ArcGIS Toolset and allows considering monthly variations of rainfall and crop growth at any watershed in South-Korea. ArcSATEEC was applied in Daecheong-dam watershed in this study, monthly soil erosion was estimated with monthly rainfall and crop growth variation. Annual soil erosion was computed by summing monthly soil erosion and was compared to the conventional approach to estimate annual soil erosion. The annual soil erosion estimated by the conventional approach and by summing monthly approach did not display much differences, however, ArcSATEEC was capable to provide monthly variation of soil erosion.

There are researches in progress on ensuring the safety of the high impact concrete in case of fire which is a current rising social problem and this research institute also developed PFB technology, the explosion preventing technology. PFB technology is to apply POSCO E&C Fire Board, a fireproof board, with an adhesive agent on the construction site, and this technology passed 3-hour fireproof test and this technology was proven from a previous research that the temperature of main root is maintained under $200^{\circ}C$. Therefore, tests on basic contents was performed in this research before the actual construction, with a full scale of wooden prototype to apply PFB technology to actual construction sites and the tests were done on the workability of fireproof board, the adhesive power, the resistance against imprint of wooden nail, the heat conductivity and etc. As the results of these tests, PFB technology was proven to have an excellent workability at a construction site and to be easy for processing and also, this technology was proven to have a great resisting power against imprint of wooden nail. Therefore, this research has confirmed that PFB technology has no problem to be applied on a construction site.

Due to the following reasons, the management of curtain wall parts and material is very Important. Firstly, curtain wall work is one of the main works in High-rise building construction for it takes about $10{\sim}15%$ of the total construction cost. Secondly, the whole process of curtain wall work including manu acture, delivery, storage, installation and maintenance is very complicated and sometimes more than 30 companies involve in the process. Thus there are many control points for curtain wall units. Thirdly, there are not enough space on site for material storage and this situation is more serious for sites in urban area. The purpose of this research is to validate an information systems using RFID technology that is developed to manage the curtain wall units following the process of curtain wall work. For the validation, the cycle times of curtain wall work before and a ter the system was used. The results show that using the systems shorten the cycle time of the curtain wall work. Thus it is concluded that the system can increase the efficiency of managing curtain wall work.

While universities are making every effort to improve the housing welfare of university students by establishing new dormitories, the construction of school dormitories has intensified the conflict with other certified real estate businesses on the basis of their right to survival. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the causality in the conflict to coherently understand the conflict between these stakeholders. To do so, this study conducted a survey questionnaire on certified real estate businesses in the vicinity of private universities with dormitories in the metropolitan area. This study targeted licensed real estate brokerage agencies that conclude rental contracts in view of different stances, and control the real estate rental market by controling their conflict. Investigated the influence relationship between universities and licensed real estate brokerage agencies in relation to construction of private university dormitories and the effect of this conflict on management performance of licensed real estate brokerage agencies, and analyzed the relationship among relevant variables to see if their dormitory recognitions have a moderating effect. In addition to analyzing the causality of conflict level (perceived conflict, expressed conflict), conflict management, conflict outcome, and management performance, the study also verified the moderating effect of perception on dormitory and the mediating effect of conflict management. The results showed that conflict level had a negative (-) effect on conflict management, while the perceived conflict and conflict management of the conflict level had a negative (-) effect on the conflict outcome. In the relationship between perceived conflict and conflict outcome, conflict management had a complete mediating effect while expressed conflict had a partial mediating effect. Lastly, the perception of university dormitories did not have a moderating effect for the influence of conflict management on conflict outcome.

On the road and rail tunnels, the evacuation pathway and facilities such as smoke-control and fire suppression system are essential in tunnel fire. In the long twin tunnels, the cross-connection tunnel is usually designed to evacuate from the tunnel where the fire broke out to the other tunnel. In twin shield tunnels, the segment lining has to be demolished to construct the cross-connection tunnel. Considering the modern shield TBM is mostly the closed chamber type, the exposure of underground soil induced by removal of steel segment lining is the most danger construction step in the shield tunnel construction. This case study introduces the excavation method using the thrust of large steel pipe and reviews the measured data after the construction. The large steel pipe thrust method for the cross-connection tunnel can stabilize the excavated face with the two mechanisms. Firstly, the soil in front of excavated face is cylindrically pre-supported by the large steel pipe. Secondly, the excavated face is supported by the plugging effect caused by the soil pressed into the steel pipe. It was reviewed that the large steel pipe thrust method in the cross-connection tunnel is enough to secure the construct ability and stability in soil from the measurement results about the deformation and stress of steel pipe.

Since the beginning of a new century, many Korean construction and engineering companies are facing a very dynamic and fast changing business environment which includes severe competition, higher risk, economic depression, declining revenues and profits, etc. In order to cope with these challenges, they need to secure special capabilities to actively adapt to the paradigm changes. One of those capabilities could be project management capability which allows us to manage organizational resources dynamically and integratively based on project portfolio management concept. The objective of this study is to investigate how the dynamic capability of a project-based organization to control the resource affects the firm performance and the competitive advantages. Data was collected from the construction and engineering companies in South Korea by using survey questionnaire, and analyzed for empirical tests by using statistical methods such as structural equation modelling and path analysis. The results showed that the organizational resources, if they had the VRIN characteristics, would have positive impacts on creating the dynamic capabilities for project organization. In turn, the dynamic capabilities of a project organization would have impacts on improving business performance and creating competitive advantages. Also, it was found that the organizational resources may have direct impact on business performance and competitive advantages. The academic contribution of this study is that it attempts to integrate resource based view and the dynamic capability theory about creating competitive advantages for project based organization. This study also provided practical implications to the companies in construction industry by showing how to use organizational resources strategically to create competitive advantages.

Layout work for building structures requires high precision to construct structural elements in the correct location. However, the accuracy and precision of the layout position are affected by the worker's skill, and productivity can be reduced when there is information loss and error. To solve this problem, it is necessary to automate the overall layout operation and introduce information technology, and layout process automation using construction robots can be an effective means of doing this. This study develops a prototype of an automated layout robot for building structures and evaluates its basic performance. The developed robot is largely composed of driving, marking, sensing, and control units, and is designed to enable various driving methods, and movement and rotation of the marking unit in consideration of the environment on structural work. The driving and marking performance experiments showed satisfactory performance in terms of driving distance error and marking quality, while the need for improvement in terms of some driving methods and marking precision was confirmed. Based on the results of this study, we intend to continuously improve the robot's performance and establish an automation system for overall layout work process.

With the concentration of the population in the city center and the saturation of the structures on the ground, the development of the underground structures becomes important and the construction of an adjoining tunnel that can reduce the overall problems is respected. In addition, it is necessary to apply the reinforcement construction method for the pillar part of the adjacent tunnel that can secure stability, economy and workability of the site. In this study, the tunnel pillar reinforcement method using prestress and grouting was reviewed. There are various reinforcement methods that can compensate for the problems of the side tunnel, but as the tunnel pillar construction method using prestress and grouting is judged to be excellent in field applicability, stability and economic feasibility, theoretical and numerical analysis of the actual behavior mechanism are conducted. Numerical analysis is divided into PC stranded wire + steel pipe reinforcement grouting + prestress (Case 1), pillar part tie bolt reinforcement (Case 2), pillar part non-reinforcement (Case 3) under the same ground conditions, and the maximum value of the celling displacement, internal displacement, and member force, the stability was confirmed. Through numerical analysis, it was confirmed that Case 1 which reinforced the PC stranded wire, was the best construction method and if it is verified and supplemented through field experiments later, it will be possible to derive superior results in terms of displacement control and member force than the currently applied reinforcement method was judged.

The serious issue of tall building is to ensure the fire resistance of high strength concrete. Therefore, Solving methods are required to control the explosive spalling. The fire resistant finishing method is installed by applying a fire resistant material as a light-weight material to structural steel and concrete surface. This method can reduce the temperature increase of the reinforcement embedded in structural steel and concrete at high temperature due to the installation thickness control. This study is interested in identifying the effectiveness of light-weight fire protection material compounds including the inorganic admixture such as fly ash, meta-kaolin and light-weight aggregate as the fire resistant finishing materials through the analysis of fire resistance and components properties at high temperature. Also, this paper is concerned with change in microstructure and dehydration of the light-weight fire protection materials at high temperatures. The testing methods of fire protection materials in high temperature properties are make use of SEM and XRD. The study results show that the light-weight fire resistant finishing material composed of fly ash, meta-kaolin and light-weight aggregate has the thermal stability of the slight decrease of compressive strength at high temperature. These thermal stability is caused by the ceramic binding capacity induced by alkali activation reaction by the reason of the thermal analysis result not showing the decomposition of calcium hydrate. Developed light-weight fire protection materials showed good stability in high Temperatures. Thus, the results indicate that it is possible to fireproof panels, fire protection of materials.

Theory educations for education time must include basic educations and expert educations. Basic educations must include understanding regulations and laws and understanding affairs. Expert educations must include traffic control, safety educations, understanding of traffic accidents, operation of traffic control facilities, and traffic accident settlements. Traffic affairs educations must include traffic induction affairs in sites (hand signals, safety material establishment, traffic accident settlements, and urgent treatments).
