In this paper, a high gain, broadband planar vivaldi antenna (PVA) by utilizing a broadband stripline feed is developed for wireless communication for IoT systems. The suggested antenna is designed by attaching a tapered-slot construction to a typical vivaldi antenna, which improves the antenna's radiation properties. The PVA is constructed on a low-cost FR4 substrate. The dimensions of the patch are 1.886λ0×1.42λ0×0.026λ0, dielectric constant Ɛr=4.4, and loss tangent δ=0.02. The width of the feed line is reduced to improve the impedance bandwidth of the antenna. The computed reflection coefficient findings show that the suggested antenna has a 46.2% wider relative bandwidth calculated at a 10 dB return loss. At the resonance frequencies of 6.5 GHz, the studied results show an optimal gain of 5.82 dBi and 85% optimal radiation efficiency at the operable band. The optometric analysis of the proposed structure shows that the proposed antenna can achieve wide enough bandwidth at the desired frequency and hence make the designed antenna appropriate to work in satellite communication and medical internet of things (M-IoT) healthcare applications.
Earth pressure due to gravity generally increases linearly with the depth, but the distribution of earth pressure due to surface load depends on the loading condition, the ground condition, and the boundary condition. In this study, the earth pressure on a rigid wall due to the vertical surface load was measured in experiments. Rigid wall was built in the model test box, and it was filled with homogeneous sandy ground (width 30 cm, height 88 cm, length 110 cm). Rigid wall was composed of 8 segments, which were tested on the two load cells. In the tests, we observed the distribution of the earth pressure on the rigid wall depending on the vertical surface load and it's location. According to the test results, the lateral earth pressure due to the vertical surface load showed its maximum value at a constant depth and decreased with the depth, to the negligible value at the critical depth. The critical depth and the depth at which lateral earth pressure reaches its maximum were not decided by the magnitude of the vertical surface load. They were dependant on the distance from the rigid wall.
The most comprehensive and particularly reliable method for non-destructively measuring the residual stress of the surface layer of metals is the sin2ψ method. When X-rays were used the relationship of εφψ-sin2ψ measured on the surface layer of the processing metal did not show linearity when the sin2ψ method was used. In this case, since the effective penetration depth changes according to the changing direction of the incident X-ray, σφ becomes a sin2ψ function. Since σφ cannot be used as a constant, the relationship in εφψ-sin2ψ cannot be linear. Therefore, in this paper, the orthogonal function method according to Warren's diffraction theory and the basic profile of normal distribution were synthesized, and the X-ray diffraction profile was calculated and reviewed when there was a linear strain (stress) gradient on the surface. When there is a strain gradient, the X-ray diffraction profile becomes asymmetric, and as a result, the peak position, the position of half-maximum, and the centroid position show different values. The difference between the peak position and the centroid position appeared more clearly as the strain (stress) gradient became larger, and the basic profile width was smaller. The weighted average strain enables stress analysis when there is a strain (stress) gradient, based on the strain value corresponding to the centroid position of the diffracted X-rays. At the 1/5 Imax max height of X-ray diffraction, the position where the diffracted X-ray is divided into two by drawing a straight line parallel to the background, corresponds approximately to the centroid position.
In this study, we investigated the characteristic impedance and bandwidth of CPW3DCS (coplanar waveguide employing periodic 3D coupling structures), and examined its potential for the development of a marine radio communication FISoC (fully-integrated system on chip) semiconductor device. To extract bandwidth and characteristic impedance of the CPW3DC, we induced a measurement-based equation reflecting measured insertion loss, and compared the measured results of the propagation constant β and characteristic impedance with the measured ones. According to the results of the comparison, the calculated results show a good agreement with the measured ones. Concretely, the propagation constant β and characteristic impedance exhibited an maximum error of 3.9% and 6.4%, respectively. According to the results of this study, in a range of LT = 30 ~ 150 ㎛ for the length of periodic structures, the CPW3DC exhibited a passband characteristic of 121 GHz, and a very small dependency of characteristic impedance on frequency. We could realize a low impedance transmission line with a characteristic impedance lower than 20 Ω by using CPW3DCS with a line width of 20 ㎛, which was highly reduced, compared with a 3mm line width of conventional transmission line with the same impedance. The characteristic impedance was easily adjusted by changing LT. The above results indicate that the CPW3DC can be usefully used for the development of a wireless communication FISoC (fully-integrated system on chip) semiconductor device. This is the first report of a study on the bandwidth of the CPW3DC.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the initial tissue change, to repair on the teeth & surrounding tissue under the intrusive orthodontic forces by use of elastic chain, through the microscopic findings. For this study, three young adult mongrel dogs were used, and were divied into three group : the control group was deliveried only casting crown and the experimental group 1 was equipped with energy chain during 1 week and experimental 2 group was deliveried using energy chain during 1 week and 3 weeks observation. All experimental groups and control groups were sacrificed to make the samples for microscopic findings on premolar teeth. All samples were examed and compared the histologic changes through the microscopic with H-E stain. The obtained results were as follows. 1. In hematoxylin-eosin stain of the control group, the periodontal ligament was constant width from apical third to cervical third of the root, and the periodontal fiber arrangement was horizontal or oblique in cervical third, oblique in middle and apical third of the root. 2. In Masson Trichrome stain of the control group, osteoblast and osteoclast appeared in cervical third of root, and bone resorption and new bone formation was observed in middle and apical third of the root. 3. In experimental 1, osteoclasts were increased highly, and hyperemia of blood vessels and new bone formation and bone resorption by reversal line in apical third of the root were seen. PDL width was increased apprarently from crest to apex of the root and more in apical third. 4. In experimental 2, osteoclasts and hyperemia of blood vessels were more increased than control material in apical third of the root. PDL width was increased more than control group in root apex, and was seen less than experimental 1. PDL arrangement was similar to experimental 1 and was mixed only in root apex. Therefore, in premolar intrusion of the young adult dog, there were increased osteoclast, hyperemia and dilation of blood vessel, resorption of alveolar bone and cementum and different arrangement of PDL in initial tissue change. There was not observed complete repair after remove intrusive force.

A pump-type eDNA filtering system that can control voltage and hydraulic pressure respectively has been developed, and applied a filter case that can filter out without damaging the filter. The filtering performance of the developed system was evaluated by comparing the eDNA concentration with the conventional vacuum-pressured filtering method at the catchment conduit intake reservoir. The developed system was divided into a voltage control (manual pump system) method and a pressure control (automatic pump system) method, and the pressure was measured during filtering and the pressure change of each system was compared. The voltage control method started with 65 [KPa] at the beginning of the filtering, and as the filtering time elapsed, the amount of filtrate accumulated in the filter increased, so the pressure gradually increased. As a result of controlling the pressure control method to maintain a constant pressure according to the designed algorithm, there was a difference in the width of the hydraulic pressure fluctuation during the filtering process according to the feedback time of the hydraulic pressure sensor, and it was confirmed that the pressure was converged to the target pressure. The filtering performance of the developed system was confirmed by measuring the eDNA concentration and comparing the voltage control method and the hydraulic control method with the control group. The voltage control method obtained similar results to the control group, but the hydraulic control method showed lower results than the control group. It is considered that the low eDNA concentration in the hydraulic control method is due to the large pressure deviation during filtering and maintaining a constant pressure during the filtering process. Therefore, rather than maintaining a constant pressure during filtering, it was confirmed that a voltage control method in which the pressure is gradually increased as the filtrate increases with the lapse of filtering time is suitable for collecting eDNA. As a result of comparing the average concentration of eDNA in lentic zone and lotic zone as a control group, it was found to be 96.2 [ng µL-1] and 88.4 [ng µL-1l], respectively. The result of comparing the average concentration of eDNA by the pump method was also high in the lentic zone sample as 90.7 [ng µL-1] and 74.8 [ng µL-1] in the lentic zone and the lotic zone, respectively. The high eDNA concentration in the lentic zone is thought to be due to the influence of microorganisms including the remaining eDNA.

Phononic crystals are composite materials consisting of a periodic arrangement of scattering inclusions in a host material. One of the most important properties of phononic crystals is the existence of band gaps, i.e., ranges of frequencies at which acoustic waves cannot propagate through the structure. The present study aims to investigate theoretically and experimentally the acoustic band structures in two-dimensional (2D) phononic crystals consisting of periodic square arrays of stainless steel solid cylinders with a diameter of 1 mm and a lattice constant of 1.5 mm in water. The theoretical dispersion relation that depicts the relationship between the frequency and the wave vector was calculated along the ${\Gamma}X$ direction of the first Brillouin zone using the finite element method to predict the band structures in the 2D phononic crystals. The transmission and the reflection coefficients were measured in the 2D phononic crystals with 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 layers of stainless steel cylinders stacked in the perpendicular direction to propagation at normal incidence. The theoretical dispersion relation exhibited five band gaps at frequencies below 2 MHz, the first gap appearing around a frequency of 0.5 MHz. The location and the width of the band gaps experimentally observed in the transmission and the reflection coefficients appeared to coincide well with those determined from the theoretical dispersion relation.
The change of ribbon geometry, microstructure and shape recovery with Mn contents, wheel speed and various annealing temperature have been studied in Fe-X%Mn-5Cr-5Co-4Si (X%=15, 20, 24) shape memory alloy (SMA) ribbons rapidly solidfied by single roll chill-block melt-spinning process. The thickness and width of melt-spun ribbons are reduced, results in refining and uniformalizing grains with increasing wheel speed. In the ribbons melt-spun at a wheel speed of 15m/sec, both ${\varepsilon}$ and ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites are formed in ribbon 1 (15.5wt%Mn), while only ${\varepsilon}$ martensite is revealed in ribbon 2 (20.2wt%Mn) and ribbon 3 (23.5wt%Mn). The volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite is decreased with increasing Mn contents, and those of ${\varepsilon}$ as well ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites are increased due to thermal stress relief and grain growth with increasing annealing temperature. Ms temperatures of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 are fallen with increasing Mn contents. $M_s$ temperatures of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 3 min are risen abruptly, but are nearly constant even at higher annealing temperature, i.e., 400, 500 and $600^{\circ}C$ for 3 min. Shape recovery of the ribbons 1, 2 and 3 increased 30%, 52% and 69% with Mn contents, respectively. Shape recovery of ribbon 1 (15.5wt%Mn) formed ${\varepsilon}$ and ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensites decreased because of the presence of ${\alpha}^{\prime}$martensite but those of ribbon 2 (20.2wt%Mn) and ribbon 3 (23.5wt%Mn) formed ${\varepsilon}$ martensite increased with increasing annealing temperature.

Microwave Detector Using $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$, Grain Boundary Junction $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$ superconductor thin films were deposited on $LaAIO_{3}$ (100) single crystal substrates using a metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method. These films showed the critical temperature of about 9OK and critical current density of over $10^5/A \textrm{cm}^2$at 77K. These films showed granular structure with 0.5~1.5$\mu \textrm{m}$ grains. Bridge-type junctions, 6$\mu \textrm{m}$ in width and 6pm in length, were fabricated using the photolithography and the Ar ion milling techniques. Current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of these junctions with the microwave irradiation at 77K were studied. The critical current densities decreased as the irradiated microwave power increased. When microwaves were irradiated on the bridge at 77K. the I-V charateristics showed constant voltage stcp(Shapiro steps) at $\Delta$=nho/2e.

To reveal the relationship between the changes in the growth and photo- synthesis induced by low dose radiation, red pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) plants were serially irradiated three times with gamma rays of 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 4 Gy. The plant growth was monitored by the fresh weight, the stem length, and the leaf length & width. All the irradiation groups (0.5-4 Gy) were stimulated in growth at 1 day after the $1^{st}$ irradiation (DA1I), but rather inhibited at 3 days after the $3^{rd}$ irradiation (DA3I). The maximum photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm), the photochemical quenching (qP), the non-:photochemical quenching (NPQ) and the apparent rate of the photosynthetic electron transport (ETR) were used to represent the changes in the photosynthesis by the serial irradiation. The irradiation groups except 0.5 Gy had higher Fv/Fm values at 3 DA3I than the control one. After the 3$^{rd}$ irradiation, the qP values appeared to be a little lower in the 1-4 Gy groups than in the control and 0.5 Gy ones. In contrast, the NPQ values were rather higher in the irradiation groups except 0.5 Gy. During the whole experimental period, the ETRs decreased in the control group but remained relatively constant in the 4-Gy one. In conclusion, the results obtained indicate that the stimulatory effect of ionizing radiation on the plant growth was determined by the incident dose of the single irradiation rather than by the cumulative one of the serial irradiation. They also demonstrate that the growth stimulation induced by a low dose radiation could not be positively correlated with an alteration in the photosynthesis. Additionally, we discuss in text that an ionizing radiation may partly protect the leaf senescence by delaying the development of the plants.
