Airplanes at constant speeds on inclined circular trajectories

  • The dynamical requirements are obtained for airplanes to travel on inclined circular trajectories. Formulas are provided for determining the load factor, the bank angle, the lift coefficient and the thrust or power required for the motion. The dynamical properties of the airplane are taken into account, for both, airplanes with internal combustion engines and propellers, and airplanes with jet engines. A procedure is presented for the construction of tables from which the flyability of trajectories at a given angle of inclination can be read, together with the corresponding minimum and maximum radii allowed. Sample calculations are shown for the Cessna 182, a Silver Fox like unmanned aerial vehicle, and a F-16 jet airplane.

  • To implement servo system using LIM, thrust and normal force control must be made in a moment. Thus, vector control is required to control magnetic flux and toque. In this paper, we applied to constant slip frequency vector control method by controlling d-q axis current and presented various simulation results.

  • 본 논문에서는 직류출력과 교류출력을 갖는 단상 Z-소스 전자변압기를 제안하였다. 제안된 시스템은 입력은 병렬로, 츨력은 직렬로 연결된 2대의 Quasi Z-소스 AC-AC 컨버터로 구성되어 있다. 교류 입력 전압에 대하여 Quasi Z-소스 AC-AC 컨버터의 출력 전압은 동상의 강압과 승압 고정 주파수 가변 전압 VVCF(Variable Voltage Constant Frequency)의 특성을 가지고 있다. 또한 Quasi Z-소스 AC-AC 컨버터의 Active 스위치 단에 벅-컨버터를 연결하여 48V 직류 전압도 동시에 출력 할 수 있다. 끝으로 PI제어된 직류 벅 컨버터에 의하여 일정한 직류전압을 출력할 수 있음을 PSIM 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • Although LP gas has lots of advantages, there has been limitation in application for automotive engine due to the several disadvantages, such as power decrease, complex fuel supply unit, and back fire etc. However LP gas direct injection engine has possibility to solve the problems above mentioned. LEM(Light Extinction Method) was employed for analysis of spacial and temporal distribution of LP gas which is directly injected into combustion chamber under various pressure and temperature conditions. The results from CVC(Constant Volume Chamber) were compared to those of RICEM(Rapid Induction, Compression and Expansion Machine) which simulate early- and late injection of direct injection engine. LPG fuel spray is affected by temperature and pressure in evaporation characteristics but it is more benefit to direct injection engine in every way such as, fuel distribution, evaporating speed and well wetting reduction.

  • The characteristics of heat transfer on the fire clay with microwave heating are numerically investigated using finite element method. The modelled regular hexahedron chamber($50cm{\times}50cm{\times}50cm$) filled with air consists of vertical heat source and sink walls, a fire clay model, and adiabatic plates at the top and bottom walls. With different geometrical aspect ratios of the fire clay model, the heat energy distribution is throughly investigated. The optimal shape of the fire clay for given chamber geometry and microwave power is analyzed.

  • In a design of DC ballast for fluorescent lamp, pre-stage of DC-DC converter is required to keep the constant output lumen performance regardless of variable DC input voltage. In this paper, flyback topology is used for optimum performance of 32W lamp, and various important design points for successful operation over the whole operating range are described.

  • We have proposed and demonstrated noncontact refractometer incorporating a fiber bundle. The fiber bundle is composed of a TEC(thermally expended core) fiber and hundreds multimode fibers. The fiber is designed in such a way that the detected reflected optical power from a liquid is constant against the distance between fiber bundle and liquid surface. Low differactive characteristic of TEC fiber make it possible to increase the available distance between the fiber bundle and liquid surface, The obtained sensitivity, optical intensity variation by change of refractive index of liquid is 0.4.

  • The temperature profile control issue in the resistive welder for the electronic parts is discussed. The average current of the welder tip depends on the phase(on-time) of the AC power and the tip temperature maintains or increases/decreases depending on the integral of the current square and heat loss, The basic PID control algorithm with thermo-couple feedback is difficult to track the temperature profile for various parts and optimal gain changes much. So constant gain PID algorithm is not enough to cover various electronic parts welding and a Fuzzy-PID automatic gain tuning algorithm is devised and added to conventional PID algorithm and this hybrid control architecture is implemented and the experimental results are shown.

  • This paper proposes LCC type high frequency resonant inverter to be used as a source of induction heating device or ultrasonic device and considers of operating characteristic for it. The inverter is operated safely over wide range load, because it has both panel loaded capacitor and series loaded capacitor. Then, switching frequency of the inverter is controlled by feedback voltage and current in order to have constant output power even when load is varied.

  • A dc-dc converter which transfers l2-48W of power(regulated output voltage 24V) across a large, variable air gap(1-2cm) has been designed. This converter employs double resonance to compensate the large leakage inductance of the primary and secondary of the transcutaneous transformer. To maximize the effect of resonance, a constant frequency, duty cycle control method is used. The duty cycle control presents advantages over a frequency control in terms of increase in dc voltage gain and reduction of the primary current. The analysis and design procedure for the proposed scheme is presented and the performance result is simulated and verified experimentally.
