We present a study of transition metal compounds using density functional theory (DFT), and density-corrected density functional theory(DC-DFT). By replacing the self-consistent density with that obtained from Hartree-Fock calculation, i.e., HF-DFT, the abnormality driven by self-interaction error is removed in several important cases. We discuss when and how HF-DFT works by examining 3d orbital dimers using approximate functionals and by comparing the results from self-consistent-DFT and HF-DFT with experimental values.

Despite the explosive growth of no-frill airline industry, very little is known about how consumers make purchase decision in such settings. Today's airline industry requires choice models consistent with consumers' true preference sets. This study used conjoint analysis to identify these ideal choice models. 38 percent of the subjects were found to use compensatory and 62 percent non-compensatory models. Our findings suggest a need to base choice-making promotions on ideal choice models if the promotion is to lead consumers to decisions consistent with true preferences.

The electronic states in implanted n-type silicon inversion layers have been calculated by solving Schrodinger and Poisson's equations self-consistently. The results show that implantation affects seriously energy levels, populations, and electron distribution of n-type silicon inversion layers. The calcualted channel charge is in excellent agreement with the experimental data reported elsewhere. This analysis is expected to provide powerful means to evaluate the performance of implanted n-channel MOSTs.

In this paper, we propose a interval censored regression spline model with a variance function (non-constant variance that depends on a predictor). Simulation studies show our estimates from MCECM algorithm are consistent, but biased when the sample size is small because of boundary effects. Also, we examined how the distribution of $x_i$ affects the converging speed of these consistent estimates.

In this paper, we are concerned with the problem of testing the randomness of the coefficients in a first order autoregressive model. A consistent test based on prediction error is suggested. It is shown that under the null hypothesis, the test statistic is asymptotically normal.

This paper is concerned with an estimation problem for the AR(1) process $Y_t, t=0, {\pm}1, {\cdots}$with time carying autoregressive coefficient, where coefficient itself is also stochastic process. Attention is directed to the problem of finding a consistent estimator of ${\Phi}$, the mean level of autoregressive coefficient. The asymptotic distribution of the resulting consistent estimator of ${\Phi}$, is them discussed. We do not assume any time series model for the time varying autoregressive coefficient.

A new general high order consistent nodal method for solving the 3-D multigroup neutron kinetic equations in (x-y-z) geometry has been derived by expending the flux in a multiple polynomial series for the space variables by without the quadratic fit approximations of the transverse leakage and for the time variable and using a weighted-integral technique. The derived equation set is consistent mathematically, and therefore, we can expect very accurate solutions and less computing time since we can use coarse meshes in time variable as well as in spatial variables and the solution would converge exactly in fine mesh limit.

A self-consistent-field Green's matrix method for the calculation of electronic properties of chemisorbed system is devised and applied to the methanol on copper(110) surface. The method is based on CNDO Hartree-Fock approximation. Contour integration in the complex energy plane is used for an efficient calculation of the charge-density bond-order matrix. The information on each fragment prior to chemisorption is efficiently used and a small number of iterations are needed to reach the self-consistency. The changes of density of states and other quantities of methanol due to chemisorption are consistent with reported experimental results.

The present study is focused on origins of the flow and magnetic structure involved in the formation and eruption of a solar prominence. To clarify them, we performed an MHD simulation based on the 3-dimensional emerging flux tube (3DEFT) model, in which self-consistent evolution of a flow and magnetic field passing freely through the solar surface was obtained by seamlessly connecting subsurface dynamics with surface dynamics. By analyzing Lagrangian displacements of magnetized plasma elements, we demonstrate the flow structure which is naturally incorporated to the magnetic structure of the prominence formed via dynamic interaction between the flow and magnetic field.

This article aims to identify the quality factors of public data which have increased as a public issue; analyze the impact of users satisfaction in the perspective of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and investigate the effect of service satisfaction on the government's open policy of public data. This study is consistent with Total Data Quality Management (TDQM) of MIT, it focuses on three main qualities except Contextual Data Quality (CDQ) and includes seven independent variables : accuracy, reliability, fairness for Intrinsic Data Quality (IDQ), accessibility, security for Accessibility Data Quality (ADQ), Consistent representation and understandability for Representational Data Quality (RDQ). Basing on TAM, the research model was conducted to examine which factors affect to perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, service satisfaction and how service satisfaction affects to the government's open policy of public data. The results showed that accuracy, fairness, understandability affect both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness; while reliability, consistent representation, security, and accessibility affect only perceived ease of use. This article found that the influence of perceived ease of use on perceived usefulness and the influence of these two causes on service satisfaction in the perspective of TAM were significant and it was consistent with prior studies. The service satisfaction when using public data leads to the reliability of public data open policy. As an initial study on unstructured public data open policy, this article offered quality factors that pubic data providers should consider and also present the operation plan of public data open policy in the future.
