Optimal Connection Algorithm of Two Kinds of Parts to Pairs using Hopfield Network (Hopfield Network를 이용한 이종 부품 결합의 최적화 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal algorithm for finding the shortest connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. If total part numbers are of size N, then there are order 2ㆍ(N/2)$^{N}$ possible solutions, of which we want the one that minimizes the energy function. The appropriate dynamic rule and parameters used in network are proposed by a new energy function which is minimized when 3-constraints are satisfied. This dynamic nile has three important parameters, an enhancement variable connected to pairs, a normalized distance term and a time variable. The enhancement variable connected to pairs have to a perfect connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. The normalized distance term get rids of a unstable states caused by the change of total part numbers. And the time variable removes the un-optimal connection in the case of distance constraint and the wrong or not connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. First of all, we review the theoretical basis for Hopfield model and present a new energy function. Then, the connection matrix and the offset bias created by a new energy function and used in dynamic nile are shown. Finally, we show examples through computer simulation with 20, 30 and 40 parts and discuss the stability and feasibility of the resultant solutions for the proposed connection algorithm.m.

A study on the effect of flat plate friction resistance on speed performance prediction of full scale

  • Flat plate friction lines have been used in the process to estimate speed performance of full-scale ships in model tests. The results of the previous studies showed considerable differences in determining form factors depending on changes in plate friction lines and Reynolds numbers. These differences had a great influence on estimation of speed performance of full-scale ships. This study was conducted in two parts. In the first part, the scale effect of the form factor depending on change in the Reynolds number was studied based on CFD, in connection with three kinds of friction resistance curves: the ITTC-1957, the curve proposed by Grigson (1993; 1996), and the curve developed by Katsui et al. (2005). In the second part, change in the form factor by three kinds of friction resistance curves was investtigated based on model tests, and then the brake power and the revolution that were finally determined by expansion processes of full-scale ships. When three kinds of friction resistance curves were applied to each kind of ships, these were investigated: differences between resistance and self-propulsion components induced in the expansion processes of full-scale ships, correlation of effects between these components, and tendency of each kind of ships. Finally, what friction resistance curve was well consistent with results of test operation was examined per each kind of ships.

  • The Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) offers very promising results in predicting the vibration responses of system structures, and the first PFFEM software, PFADS has been developed in Seoul National University for the vibration predictions and analysis of coupled system structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges. PFFEM is numerical method which solves energy governing equation using finite element technique for complicated structures where the exact solutions are not available. Through the upgrades, the current version PFADS R3 could cover the general beam and plate structures including various kinds of beam-plate rigid joints, spring-damper connection and rigid body connection within beam and plate in addition. This software is composed of three parts; translator, model converter and solver. The translator makes its own FE-model from bulk data of commercial FE software, and the model converter is used to convert FE-model to PFFE-model automatically. The solver calculates vibrational energy density and intensity for PFFE-model by solving global matrix equations of PFFEM. For the applications of PFADS R3, two vehicle models and a container model are examined with respect to major parameters, and reliable results are obtained.

Design of Face Recognition algorithm Using PCA&LDA combined for Data Pre-Processing and Polynomial-based RBF Neural Networks (PCA와 LDA를 결합한 데이터 전 처리와 다항식 기반 RBFNNs을 이용한 얼굴 인식 알고리즘 설계)

  • In this study, the Polynomial-based Radial Basis Function Neural Networks is proposed as an one of the recognition part of overall face recognition system that consists of two parts such as the preprocessing part and recognition part. The design methodology and procedure of the proposed pRBFNNs are presented to obtain the solution to high-dimensional pattern recognition problems. In data preprocessing part, Principal Component Analysis(PCA) which is generally used in face recognition, which is useful to express some classes using reduction, since it is effective to maintain the rate of recognition and to reduce the amount of data at the same time. However, because of there of the whole face image, it can not guarantee the detection rate about the change of viewpoint and whole image. Thus, to compensate for the defects, Linear Discriminant Analysis(LDA) is used to enhance the separation of different classes. In this paper, we combine the PCA&LDA algorithm and design the optimized pRBFNNs for recognition module. The proposed pRBFNNs architecture consists of three functional modules such as the condition part, the conclusion part, and the inference part as fuzzy rules formed in 'If-then' format. In the condition part of fuzzy rules, input space is partitioned with Fuzzy C-Means clustering. In the conclusion part of rules, the connection weight of pRBFNNs is represented as two kinds of polynomials such as constant, and linear. The coefficients of connection weight identified with back-propagation using gradient descent method. The output of the pRBFNNs model is obtained by fuzzy inference method in the inference part of fuzzy rules. The essential design parameters (including learning rate, momentum coefficient and fuzzification coefficient) of the networks are optimized by means of Differential Evolution. The proposed pRBFNNs are applied to face image(ex Yale, AT&T) datasets and then demonstrated from the viewpoint of the output performance and recognition rate.

  • This thesis is a study on the oldest feng-shui book "Janggyeong(葬經)". Specially, it is a focus on the feng-shui orientation method so called Sasepalryongbub(四勢八龍法) in that book. This method is to identify fortune and misfortune with the directions to be measured by a feng-shui compass. Sa(四) of Sase(四勢) is the four pieces of direction of dividing 12 parts for 360 degree circle. To divide for 12 parts is related with 12-Jiji(地支). Sa mean In(寅), Sin(申), Sa(巳), and Hae(亥). Se of Sase means a large stem of mountain. Generally, Sase are the big mountain stems of the four directions as In, Sin, Sa, and Hae. Pal(八) of Palryong(八龍) mean the 8 parts of equal division for 360 degree. It is related with Palgoe(八卦) that divide for 8 parts equally. Palgoe are Jin(震), Li(離), Gam(坎), Tae(兌), Geon(乾), Gon(坤), Gan(艮), and Son(巽). Ryong(龍) of Palryong(八龍) is a stem of mountain that is measured with 8 parts of equal division feng-shui compass. Sasepalryongbub make a connection between Sase and Palryong. When they are connected, it is a good fortune like as In(寅) and Li(離), Sin(申) and Gam(坎) or Gon(坤) or Gan(艮), Sa(巳) and Tae(兌) or Geon(乾), Hae(亥) and Jin(辰) or Son(巽). It is based on two theories. The one is 12-Unseongron(運星論), the other is one of Ohaengron(五行論) as Samhap-Ohaeng(三合五行). 12-Unseongron begins from dividing all human life affairs with 12 steps. Saeng(生), Wang(旺), Myo(墓) are the very important things among 12 steps. Saeng means starting, Wang means flourishing, Myo means keeping. Samhap-Ohaeng is made with Jiji of Saeng, Wang and Myo steps about 12-Unseongron. Saeng is the most important thing among of Saeng, Wang and Myo in Sasepalryongbub which means birth. Saeng of Jiji direction can help Palgoe direction as a counterpart. Like this, the good relation of Sase and Palryong is that Jiji direction can help Palgoe direction. For example, there are In(寅) of Jiji and Li(離) of Palgoe, can be explained as these kinds of the good relations. In view of Samhap-Ohaeng, In of Jiji is regared as Saeng of fire(火). This fire- Saeng-In as Jiji can help fire- Li as Palgoe. It can be said as a good condition that Sase and Palryong be connected like this case. This is the main content of Sasepalryongbub as being treated in this study.

The Comparison and Analysis of Models on Ratio and Rate in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks : Centering on Multiplicative Perspectives on Proportional Relationships and the Structure of Proportion Situations (초등 수학 교과서 비와 비율 단원의 모델 비교 분석 -비례에 대한 곱셈적 사고 및 비례 상황의 구조를 중심으로)

  • This study investigated the models of four countries' elementary mathematics textbooks in Ratio and Rate and identified how multiplicative perspectives on proportional relationships and the structure of proportion situations are reflected in the textbooks. For this, textbooks of 5th and 6th grade textbooks in Korea Japan, Singapore and U.S. are compared and analyzed. As a result, we can find multiplicative perspectives on proportional relationships and the structure of proportion situations on pictorial models, ratio tables, double number lines and double tape diagrams. Also, the development of Japanese textbooks from multiple batches perspectives to variable parts perspectives and the examples of the use with two models together implied the connection and union of two multiplicative perspectives. Based on these results, careful verification and discussion for the next textbook is needed to develop students' proportional reasoning and teach some effective reasoning strategies. And this study will provide the implication for what kinds of and how visual models are presented in the next textbook.

A Design on Face Recognition System Based on pRBFNNs by Obtaining Real Time Image (실시간 이미지 획득을 통한 pRBFNNs 기반 얼굴인식 시스템 설계)

  • In this study, the Polynomial-based Radial Basis Function Neural Networks is proposed as one of the recognition part of overall face recognition system that consists of two parts such as the preprocessing part and recognition part. The design methodology and procedure of the proposed pRBFNNs are presented to obtain the solution to high-dimensional pattern recognition problem. First, in preprocessing part, we use a CCD camera to obtain a picture frame in real-time. By using histogram equalization method, we can partially enhance the distorted image influenced by natural as well as artificial illumination. We use an AdaBoost algorithm proposed by Viola and Jones, which is exploited for the detection of facial image area between face and non-facial image area. As the feature extraction algorithm, PCA method is used. In this study, the PCA method, which is a feature extraction algorithm, is used to carry out the dimension reduction of facial image area formed by high-dimensional information. Secondly, we use pRBFNNs to identify the ID by recognizing unique pattern of each person. The proposed pRBFNNs architecture consists of three functional modules such as the condition part, the conclusion part, and the inference part as fuzzy rules formed in 'If-then' format. The proposed pRBFNNs are applied to real-time face recognition system and then demonstrated from the viewpoint of output performance and recognition rate.

A Research on the Implementation and Estimation of an Integrated System for Information Management in the Field of Nuclear Science and Engineering (원자력분야 학술정보 통합정보관리시스템 구현에 관한 연구)

  • This research is a case study that describes the NUCLIS21(Nuclear Information System 21), an integrated web-based information management system of KAERI(Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute), implemented to carry out the role of a national nuclear information center with government support as an information infra implementation programme. Through its user-centered single interface, the system aims at building an infrastructure for the national nuclear information center, as well as improving the information management system of the TID(Technical Information Department) within the institute. The system consists of two major parts which are an integrated module of the MIS and six different kinds of system. These include the Integral search system with OPAC, My Library, the Acquisition system, the Catalogue system, the Information Supply system, and the Serial Publication system. The DB is composed of Bibliographical DB, Original text DB and Abstract DB. A special feature of this system was designed as a unified network system through connection to MIS(Management Integration System) of the institute, so users can get research information for projects. Therefore, they have access to available information easily and access to the ongoing service of this system. Furthermore, users can share information by using our system. The survey has it that 75.7%(200 persons), 62.1%(164 persons) and 78.4%(207 persons) of the respondents are satisfied with the fidelity, speediness, and convenience of the system respectively, and the overall satisfaction of the respondents is comparably high.
