초등학교 과학 교과서 내용의 통합적 구성에 관한 국제 비교 연구 (An International Comparative Study on the Integrative Contents of Elementary Science Textbooks)

  • The aims of this study are to analyze and compare the elementary textbook contents of science in Korea, USA and England and to make suggestions for the improvement of integrative contents in Korean science textbooks. For this study, lessons on living things in the three grade science textbooks of three different countries were selected and analyzed according to the five criteria: component elements of the lesson, integration of knowledges and investigations, integration of subject and life, connection with other subjects and focus of integration. From this comparative study, five suggestions are inferred for the improvement of the Korean elementary science textbooks. First, it is recommended that Korean textbooks should present unit objectives and evaluative components in the introductive part and last part of each lesson. Second, Korean textbooks should include scientific knowledges as a way of presenting educational contents. Third, Korean textbooks are recommended to include integrated contents fitting for students' life context. Fourth, Korean textbooks are recommended to integrate contents in connection with mathematics, arts, literature and so on. Fifth, issues which can facilitate students to understand contents in the textbooks and to relate to their life should be more employed.

  • 서로 다른 영역의 기술이나 서비스를 결합하여 새로운 형태의 제품이나 서비스를 창출하는 디지털 컨버전스가 급속하게 발전하고 있으며, 융합 대상이 기술 중심에서 콘텐트 중심으로 동종 콘텐트에서 이종 콘텐트로 확산되는 추세이다. 학술콘텐트 부분에서도 다양한 포맷과 유형의 학술콘텐트를 융합하여 새로운 서비스를 창출하려는 연구가 활발하다. 본고에서는 학술콘텐트 부분의 연계 융합 사례를 고찰하고 특징 및 장단점을 분석하였으며, 특히 KISTI의 이종 콘텐트 간 연계 융합 통합 모델인 CLICK을 중심으로 통합 플랫폼의 특징 문제점 및 해결책, 향후 연구과제를 제시하였다.

멀티 디스플레이 콘텐츠 전송 시스템을 위한 디바이스 연결 및 배치 인식 기법의 구현 (An Implementation of Device Connection and Layout Recognition Techniques for the Multi-Display Contents Delivery System)

  • According to the advancement of display devices, the multi-screen contents display environment is growing to be accepted for the display exhibition area. The objectives of this research are to find communications technology and to design an editor interface of contents delivery system for the larger and adaptive multi-display workspaces. The proposed system can find existence of display devices and get information without any additional tools like marker, and can recognize device layout with only web-cam and image processing technology. The multi-display contents delivery system is composed of devices with three roles; display device, editor device, and fixed server. The editor device which has the role of main control uses UPnP technology to find existence and receive information of display devices. extract appointed color in captured picture using a tracking library to recognize the physical layout of display devices. After the device information and physical layout of display devices are connected, the content delivery system allows the display contents to be sent to the corresponding display devices through WebSocket technology. Also the experimental results show the possibility of our device connection and layout recognition techniques can be utilized for the large spaced and adaptive multi-display applications.

Evaluation of Strength Properties for Bolted Connections with Lumber from Small Diameter Logs

  • EYM (European Yield Model), which was adopted in NDS (National Design Specification for wood construction), has been used in Korea without any verification of the analysis of bolted wood connections. In the case of applying lumber from domestic small diameter logs, however, there are some problems with the direct application of EYM ; 1) relatively low dowel bearing strength and dimensional stability due to a large amount of immature wood, 2) effect of MC (moisture contents) on the dowel bearing strength of wood and the yield load of a bolted connection. To evaluate the strength properties of bolted connections with lumber from domestic small diameter logs, effect of MC on the dowel bearing strength of wood was investigated and double shear bolted connection tests were performed. As the MC of wood increased, the dowel bearing strength was linearly reduced, even under 19% MC, which showed that adjustment, not considered in NDS, was required. Double shear bolted connection tests indicated that effect of MC on yield load should be considered in order to determine design value.

한국과 북한의 초·중등학교 지구과학 내용의 연계성에 대한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Connection between Elementary and Secondary Science Contents of DPRK and Republic of Korea)

  • 한국과 북한의 초등학교와 중등학교 과학 교과서의 학습내용을 TIMSS의 분석틀에 따라 비교하고 그 연계성을 조사하였다. 분석 결과 한국과 북한의 과학 교과서 내용은 TIMSS 지구과학 영영 내용 분석틀의 학습요소들을 상당히 많이 공통적으로 다루고 있으나 그 내용의 수준과 범위는 한국의 교과서가 북한의 교과서보다 탐구적이고 정량적으로 기술되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 TIMSS의 지구과학 영역 내용 분석틀의 내용요소 총 70개 중에서 한국은 74.4%에 해당하는 52개의 내용요소가, 북한은 67.1%에 해당하는 47개의 내용요소가 초 ${\cdot}$ 중등학교에 각각 반영되어 있고, 학교급간 관련 정도는 한국의 경우 초등학교와 중등학교 간의 관련성이 높은 반면에 북한은 고등학교 내에서의 관련성이 더 높게 나타났다. 한국과 북한의 과학 교과서 내용요소의 연계성 유형은 한국의 경우 13.4%가 중복, 77.0%가 연계, 9.6 %가 격차를 보였다. 그리고 북한은 14.9%가 중복, 63.8%가 연계, 21.3%가 격차를 보였다. 이로써 한국의 과학 교과서의 내용이 북한에 비해 보다 탐구적이고 정량적으로 기술되어 있으며, TIMSS의 지구과학 내용요소가 보다 많이 반영되어 있고, 내용(개념)의 연계가 보다 잘 이루어져 있음이 밝혀졌다.

고등학교 융합형 과학의 학습내용과 사범대학 예비과학교사 교육내용과의 연관성 분석을 통한 예비과학교사교육에 대한 시사점 고찰 (Educational Implications of Pre-Service Science Teachers' Education by Analysis of Connection between Learning Contents Presented in the High School 'Science' and in the Pre-Service Science Textbooks of College of Education)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고등학교 과학 교과에서 추출한 학습 내용과 사범대학 예비과학교사 교재에서 추출한 교육내용을 비교하여 그 연관성을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 소위 융합형 과학으로 불리는 고등학교 과학 교과서 7종과 물리, 화학, 생물, 지구과학 등 4개 과학 분야에서 사용하고 있는 11종 사범대학 예비과학교사 교재를 분석하였다. 고등학교 과학의 교육 내용과 예비과학교사 교재의 교육내용을 비교 분석한 결과, 관련성이 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 '에너지와 환경' 단원은 가장 많은 예비과학교사 교육내용이 포함된 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 전체 고등학교 과학 교과 내용의 86.6% 정도가 사범대학 4개 분야의 교재에 소개되고 있을 뿐 나머지는 예비교사들이 스스로 공부해야 하는 부담을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 심지어 일부 학습내용들은 그 내용 수준이 사범대학 예비과학교사 교육내용보다 높은 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 게다가 또 다른 일부 학습내용들은 공학과 기술 영역에 포함되어, 이를 대비하기 위한 별도의 교사교육이 필요하다. 위와 같은 내용을 종합했을 때, 고등학교 과학 교과의 교육내용을 적정화 할 필요가 있다. 또한 본 교과를 가르칠 교사와 예비교사들을 위해 다양한 교육 프로그램을 개발할 필요가 있으며, 예비과학교사들이 과학을 지도할 수 있도록 도울 수 있는 사범대학 교육과정이 개편이 필요하다.

전시시나리오구조 유형별 관람행동특성에 관한 연구 - 자연과학계박물관을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Viewing Behaviors by the Composition Type Exhibition Scenarios - Focused on Natural Science Museums -)

  • The purposes of natural science museums are to educate the general public on the principles and application of science, and help them understand various aspects of science technology. Data should be analyzed by considering these educational aspects of exhibition, and the methods of presenting exhibits should be decided. Accordingly, the composition of exhibition contents with various exhibition elements has an important role at natural science museums. The relation and structure of exhibition themes are significant factors in helping visitors understand the principles of science and a system of viewing circulation can be used as an important tool for understanding the flow of exhibition. In other words, at the planning stage for the composition of exhibition contents, the relation of exhibition themes as well as the circulation patterns of viewers can induce active viewing behaviors. Therefore, centering on the patterns of viewing circulation as well as on the connectivity of exhibition themes at natural science museums, the purposes of this research are: 1) to conceptualize the composition of exhibition contents; and 2) to find elements that can induce active viewing behaviors by analyzing visitors' viewing behaviors. This research was establishing an analytical indicator of contact for viewing behaviors observed from the composition of exhibition scenarios, the active viewing patterns of engagement, first contact, and repeated contact were analyzed. First, a composition pattern with a high participation rate, in contact with exhibits, was found to induce an overall-viewing circulation and have a big ring of the composition of exhibition themes. Second, by inducing a partial-viewing circulation pattern, a high rate of first contacts was observed from a ring pattern of theme connection. Even for the structure with theme connection with depth, a high frequency of contacts with various exhibits was found when exhibition themes have a ring pattern. Third, the repeated contacts were mostly found in the form of scenarios, which has a successive structure of ring and cross patterns.

A Self-Reconfigurable System of Contents among Smart Devices

  • In this system, mobile devices are not independent, they can communicate with each other, one device's change can affect the whole system or other devices. To achieve the above mentioned A Self-Reconfigurable System of Contents, through discover the device and connect process, to establish the connection between the mobile devices. After user assigns two dimension display type, the user can select content to input the system, contents are portioning and broadcast to devices. The system can self-reconfigure contents rapidly and exactly. This technique supports contents self-reconfiguration for devices remove, addition and position exchange. In this paper, when the user uses the hand contacts device, the device sends a signal to assist the system to detection device's position. The system does not need to get accurate devices moving direction, just according to all changed devices position to judge where the devices destination is. This research develops an application according to this technique, and the real machine tests the application using Android platform. Some communication protocols and mathematical modeling methods are proposed. These methods can also be used in other Internet of Things (IoT) fields, such as Drones Navigation, Smart Home, and Informational City management.

소셜 실감 게임을 위한 이기종 스마트 플랫폼 브릿지 기술 (A Bridge Technique of Heterogeneous Smart Platform supporting Social Immersive Game)

  • Recently, the concept of mobile content service has changed from providing unilaterally contents for single-device to providing same contents for multi-device. This service should be able to provide diverse contents for multi-devices without platform and specification of multi-device. In this study, we propose a bridge technique of heterogeneous smart platform supporting social immersive game. It is possible to access social immersive game by using a multi-platform bridge. To achieve this, we explain techniques of device connection and data transmission between heterogeneous devices using server-client structure and UPnP. It provides an immersive game environment for multi-user, which is able to play in a public place using big screen.

Understanding Information Sharing Among Scientists Through a Professional Online Community: Analyses on Interaction Patterns and Contents

  • Even through many professional organizations increasingly use Q&A sites in their online communities for information sharing, there are few studies which examine what is really going on in the Q&A activities in professional online communities (POC). This study aims to examine the interaction patterns and contents posted in the Q&A site of a POC, KOSEN, a science and technology online community in South Korea, focusing on how actively scientific information and knowledge are shared. The interaction patterns among the participants were identified through social network analysis (SNA) and the contents in the Q&As were examined by content analysis. The results show that the overall network indicated a moderate level of participation and connection and answerers especially tended to be active. Also, there are different interaction patterns depending on academic fields. Relatively few participants were posting leaders who seemed to steer the overall interactions. Furthermore, some content related to manipulation and explanation for experiments, which are in urgent need, seem to be posted in the sites more frequently with more amounts. Combining both SNA and content analysis, this study demonstrated how actively information and knowledge is shared and what types of contents are exchanged. The findings have practical implications for POC managers and practitioners.
