A review is presented for various gas tranport mechanisms through microporous membranes of both polymeric and inorganic materials. Different transport modes manifest depending on the pore size and the flow regime, which is a function of pressure, temperature, and the inateraction between gas molecules and the pore walls. For microporous membranes whose pores are small and the intenal surface area huge, the surface diffusion becomes a significant factor. If the pores become even smaller, them the transport mechanism will be more of an activated diffusion type. When conditions are right capillary condensation will take place to create an enormous capillary pressure gradient, which will greatly enhance the permeation flux. At the same time the capillary condensate of the heavier component may block the membrane pores denying the passage of the lighter gas molecules. All of these phenomena will influence the separation of mixtures.
Investigation for the high strength grouts using ordinary cement mortar, melamine formaldehyde condensate (MFC) with various admixtures was carried out. The physical properties of the grouts were investigated through the observation of the microstructure and the application of fracture mechanics. When the lime stone and fly ash was added with 6 wt% to the grouts, the compressive strength was about 72 MPa, 69 MPa respectively, and the flexural strength was about 11.9 MPa, 11.4 MPa respectively, the Young's modulus was about 4.3 GPa, 3.9 GPa, and the critical stress intensity was about 7.3 ×10-1MNm-1.5, 6.8×10-1MNm-1.5 respectively. When the silica fume was added with 6 wt% to the grouts, the compressive strength and the flexural strength were 81 MPa, 12.3 MPa, Young's modulus was 4.8 GPa and the critical stress intensity was about 8.4×10-1MNm-1.5.
The present study was conducted to determine flooding heat transfer limitation of a two-phase closed thermosyphon using PFC as working fluid. The variables such as pipe inner diameter, working fluid property, operating temperature were examined by way of analytic method. Comparison of experimental data on flooding heat transfer limitation shows a fairly good agreement with the analytic results. An expression fur flooding maximum heat transfer rate was formulated as a function of Bond number and saturation pressure and written as follows ; $Q_{max} =0.989{\cdot}P_s^{0.286}{\cdot}Bo^{1.74}$.

KAERI has developed a two-phase CFD code, CUPID, for a refined calculation of transient two-phase flows related to nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics, and its numerical models have been verified in previous studies. In this paper, the CUPID code is validated against experiments on the downcomer boiling and moderator flow in a Calandria vessel. Physical models relevant to the validation are discussed. Thereafter, multi-scale thermal hydraulic analyses using the CUPID code are introduced. At first, a component-scale calculation for the passive condensate cooling tank (PCCT) of the PASCAL experiment is linked to the CFD-scale calculation for local boiling heat transfer outside the heat exchanger tube. Next, the Rossendorf coolant mixing (ROCOM) test is analyzed by using the CUPID code, which is implicitly coupled with a system-scale code, MARS.
We performed the experiment to determine the effective factors, such as the initial concentration of protein, pore size of air distributor, SAV (superficial air velocity), pH, salts and temperature related to foaming characteristics. The foam height in a foam generator was increased with the increase of the initial protein concentration and the decrease of pore size. As SAV was increased, the foam height was increased, and the optimum SAV was 0.84 cm/sec. The foam height was highest in the acid region and it was increased with the increase of salt concentration of NaCl and $NaHCO_3.$ The removal efficiencies of TSS (total suspended solid) and turbidity decreased with the increase of the initial protein concentration in the batch foam separator.

Liquid smoke is made by concentration of smoke generated from charcoal of broad-leaved trees, or by refinement of smoke originated from incomplete combustion of wood condensate (Park et al., 1994). Generally, it is well known that phenol and its derivatives have antioxidative effect, while acids and formaldehyde have antimicrobial effect (Park et al., 1994). Meanwhile, some studies (Alonge, 1988; Dungel, 1961) reported that the high incidence of stomach cancer has been associated with the consumption of smoked fishes, and these were investigated to direct intake of fishes treated with smoke, containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)(Moret et al., 1999).
Aliphatic hydrocarbon gases from rubber pyrolysis have been identified by gas chromatography with tetraethyleneglycol dimethylether column. Rubbers used in this work are polyisoprene, SBR, NBR, polybutadiene, buthyl rubber, polychloroprene and polyurethane rubber. The chromatogram is characteristic for each polymer. Author proposes a method of identification of synthetic rubbers by gas chromatograph of pyrolyzed gas. Sample is pyrolyzed at $450^{\circ}C$ under nitrogen or more effectively helium and gaseous portion, which eliminated liquid condensate, is passed to the column. The appearance of exclusively large peak of isoprene, isobutylene and carbon dioxide shows the presence of polyisoprene, polyisobutylene and polyurethane, respectively. Large peak of butadiene will appear in case of polybutadiene, SBR and NBR, but SBR can be identified through the styrene peak in gas chromatogram of liquid pyrolyzate and NBR can be identified by the evolution of hydrogen cyanide during pyrolysis. Polychloroprene is identified by the evolution of hydrogen chloride. This method could be applied to the identification of copolymer or polymer blend.
Semiquantitative analysis by ICP-MS has proven to be a powerful tool for fast screening, in addition, it does not require the element of interest to be present in the calibration standard, making it especially useful for the analysis of unknown samples. In this study, seven cigarette samples were analyzed by the rapid semi-quantitative analysis method based on the ICP-MS. For each cigarette sample, cut tobacco, cigarette paper, filter (before and after smoking), and smoke condensate were analyzed. The accuracy of the analysis technique was evaluated by comparing results obtained from Calibration Check Standard(CCS) and calibration method. Relative Percentage Error(RPE) value of all elements measured for three CCS showed a stable result of less than ${\pm}20%$. Compared to full quantitative analysis by calibration method, the results for cigarette samples showed average error within ${\pm}15%$.

A crossflow finned tube evaporator has been investigated using tube-by-tube method. The refrigerant flows inside tubes while the air passes outside the finned tue. R134a for a refrigerant and wet air were used in this analysis. Three refrigerant circuitries, complex or simple, were compared. The effects of refrigerant circuitry and airside condensation on thermal performance such as heat transfer rate, enthalpy of refrigerant, temperature of refrigerant and air, pressure of refrigerant and average condensate layer thickness were investigated. It was found that this method could be applied to the analysis of finned tube evaporator for dehumidification and air conditioning.
