Generally, application of steel pile as deep foundation member needs specials requirement for the connection method between steel pipe and concrete footing. To investigate real compressive behavior of connection member between steel pipe pile and concrete footing, three specimens were tested with carefully designed experimental system. Main test variable is the connection method between steel pipe pile and concrete footing. The bolted bonding method and hook bonding method was considered as the connection method in this study. From the test results gained from experiment, it was conformed that two types of connection method have the almost same compressive resistance capacity. Therefore, we can conclude that these two connection methods can be used as the strengthening method to verify the compressive composite action of concrete and steel pipe pile.
In order to eliminate the hydration heat of mass concrete, this paper reports the results of hydration heat control in mass concrete using the OCHP (Oscillating capillary tube heat pipe). In the summarized results of the mock up experiments, distributing the heat pipe at 300 mm intervals based on the center of the test specimen was the most effective. A 200 mm turn interval for the heat pipe was measured to be the most appropriate, taking into account the reinforcement placing at the actual site. Therefore, when the hydration heat control method using the heat pipe developed in this study is applied, not only canconstruction efficiency & a reduction in the necessary construction time be expected, but so can outstanding economical effects.

The usual methods for the temperature control of mass-concrete structures include the use of low-heat cement, pre-cooling, or pipe-cooling. In order to control the heat of hydration of mass-concrete structures such as massive pier or anchor block, and mat foundation, the pipe cooling method is widely acceptable for pratical use. In this paper, method of analysis using the Finite Element Method was applied to analyze the heat exchange on the field of three dimensional thermal conduction. The result of analysis Well agreed with experimentally measurement data by "KUMATANI". The method of this analysis will be used widely to control the heat of hydration by the pipe cooling in mass-concrete.-concrete.

In process of reinforced concrete (RC) box structure, the heat of hydration may cause serious thermal cracking. This paper reports results of hydration heat control in mass concrete using the oscillating heat pipe. There were three RC box molds ($1.2m{\times}1.8m{\times}2.4m$) which were different from each other. One was not equipped with pulsating heat pipe. The others were equipped with pulsating heat pipe. All of them were cooled with natural air convection. The pulsating heat pipe was composed of 10 turns of serpentine type copper pipe whose outer and inner diameters were 4 and 2.8 mm respectively. The working fluid was R-22 and charging ratio was 40% by volume. The temperature of the concrete core was approximately $55^{\circ}C$ in the winter without pulsating heat pipe. For a concrete with pulsating heat pipe, however, the temperature difference with the outdoor one reduced up to $12^{\circ}C$. The index figure of crack was varied from 0.75 to 1.38.

Double pipe system in which PB pipe is inserted in CD pipe buried in the concrete slab is widely used for cold and hot water supplies in apartment housings. The system, however becomes complicated and the overlaying pipes in the concrete slab weaken the compressive strength of the slab. Also, insufficient insulation increases energy loss. In this work, the problems of the double pipe system are studied and plans A, B, and C are suggested for improvement. In terms of compressive strength of the concrete slab, plan A(total pipe length 73 m) was the weakest and plan B(2 m) was the strongest. Energy loss of plan A was the largest with 558.9 W and plan B was the lowest with 220.7 W. However, considering the combined effect of strength and heat loss, plan C becomes the best choice, which retains the advantage of the double pipe system.
In this study, vibration and stability of concrete pipes reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) conveying fluid are presented. Due to the existence of CNTs, the structure is subjected to magnetic field. The radial fore induced with fluid is calculated using Navier-Stokes equations. Characteristics of the equivalent composite are determined using Mori-Tanaka model. The concrete pipe is simulated with classical cylindrical shell model. Employing energy method and Hamilton's principal, the motion equations are derived. Frequency and critical fluid velocity of structure are obtained analytically based on Navier method for simply supported boundary conditions at both ends of the pipe. The effects of fluid, volume percent of CNTs, magnetic field and geometrical parameters are shown on the frequency and critical fluid velocity of system. Results show that with increasing volume percent of CNTs, the frequency and critical fluid velocity of concrete pipe are increased.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the adhesion of concrete pipe lining using polymer mortar. The polymer mortars with various mix proportions are prepared, and tested for flexural and compressive strengths, adhesion in tension, and the aspects of lining surface and workability are evaluated. Form the test results, it is apparent that the appropriate polymer mortars of lining to concrete pipe can be produced. The flexural and compressive strengths of polymer mortar for lining are affected by type of resin, and aggregates content, and water content at the surface of concrete pipe is important factor for improvement in adhesion of polymer mortar. It is obvious that the economical polymer mortars having an excellent cost performance ration can be produced through this study.

In order to control hydration heat in mass concrete, pipe cooling method has been widely used. The pipe cooling method leads to the decrease of curing period by lagging materials as well as the decrease of temperature difference between center and surface of mass concrete member, There are two methods in the pipe cooling system, which are open loop system and closed loop system. However open loop pipe cooling system cannot be applied to the mass concrete structures when cooling water supply is difficult. To control hydration heat of high strength mass foundation in the central area of city, closed loop pipe cooling system was developed to solve the cooling water supply. This paper reports the performance results of hydration heat control with closed loop pipe cooling system.

It was analysed the effect of pipe cooling as a measure to avoid thermal cracks due to the heat of hydration during the curing process of a massive prestressed concrete (PSC) slab. PSC slab has a complex three-dimensional shape of which the maximal and minimal thicknesses of cross-section were 2.8 and 0.95m, respectively. Steel pipes of which the diameter was 1 inch were employed for cooling. The horizontal and vertical distances between the contiguous pipes were 0.5 and 0.6m, respectively. One the four layers of cooling pipe were arranged according to the thickness of cross-section. Temperature distribution was calculated by the program developed by the authors, of which the accuracy was verified on a few published papers by the authors. Based on the temperature analysis of the cross-section which had four layers of cooing pipe, the maximum temperature of concrete interior was 54.2$^{\circ}C$ and the maximum differenced between the interior and surface temperatures of concrete was 14.$0^{\circ}C$ and, thereby, the thermal cracking index was 1.1. Upon the stress analysis, the thermal cracking index was 0.92 and the probability of thermal-crack development was 52%. Therefore, it was expected to make it possible to reduce the probability of thermal-crack development in a massive PSC slab by adopting pipe cooling.

Inchon International Airport Elevated Road Way is located between the Passenger Terminal Building and Transportaion Center which are Inchon International Airport core construction projects. The deck of the bridge is consists of 5-span or 6-span continuous pre-stressed concrete slab. Steel form has been used to enhance the quality of texture on concrete slab. Steel form has been used to enhance the quality of texture on concrete surface, lower surface of deck slab with the two way arch has been manufactured by highly professional manner in order to get an beautiful exterior architectural looks. The prestressed concrete deck slab is mass concrete structures with a high-specified concrete strength and a varying section in the range of 0.95-2.8m thickness. Therefore high risks of thermal cracking occurrence by heat of hydration highly are expected. To resolve such problem, we adopted type 1 cement and pipe cooking method at construction site through mass concrete specimen test and 3-dimensional analysis. For Pipe cooling we used 25mm diameter stainless pipes with wrinkles. Cooling pipe with spacing 50-60cm has been installed. And continuous pipe cooling with cooling water of 15$^{\circ}C$ was conducted for 2days. In present 8 span of all 29 spans construction has been completed. No thermal cracking heat hydration has been observed yet.
