  • This is a part a study on the development of High-Performance Concrete ; about experimental results from several test methods to estimate workability in fresh concrete and influences of concrete mix design that affects properties of super-flowing concrete. Super-flowing concrete can be filled in a formwork without any vibration because of its excellent workability of passing narrow space and filling complicated shaped mold, new test methods should be used to estimate the workability and rhelogy in super-flowing concrete instead of slump test method in conventional concrete.

  • Concrete is to be important quality in placement point and exact test method needed about early judgement method concrete on placement point. But early judgement method of concrete proposed various kind of method because the problems of accuracy and the time required of test exists, it is used within the limits. This study is to propose of early strength judgement by using microwave for accurate estimating early strength of concrete and to develop test machine. Through out this study we find that belows. 1) Strength development of concrete specimen according to the time heated by microwave showed the height strength development in 9 minutes regardless of slump and w/c. 2) As cooling time is long, strength of concrete specimen according to the time heated by microwave showed high strength development and this tendency is like regardless of heating time, w/c and slump. 3) As w/c is high, accelerating strength development according to w/c showed lower strength development and this tendency is like regardless of slump, heating time and cooling time. 4) As slump is big, compressive strength of specimen in standard curing showed lower value and as w/c is big, strength development showed lower

  • The main objectives of this study are to carried out in order to evaluate strength development of Fly Ash concrete containing various amounts of Fly Ash such as 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. The experimental variables included in this test program consist of content of Fly Ash, concrete strength and chemical activation. As Fly Ash increases, air content, strength development of concrete and slump loss of normal strength concrete were gradually decreased. The inclusion of Na$_2$SO$_4$increased the short-term strength of concrete that contains Fly Ash. In addition, the strength development of concrete that contains Fly Ash and Na$_2$SO$_4$were improved.

  • This paper discusses new capabilities developed for the Virtual Penetration Laboratory (VPL) software package to address the challenges of determining Penetration Resistance (PR) equations for concrete materials. Specifically, the paper introduces a three-invariant concrete constitutive model recently developed by the authors. The Advanced Fundamental Concrete (AFC) model was developed to provide a fast-running predictive model to simulate the behavior of concrete and other high-strength geologic materials. The Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms (CEA) automatic fitting algorithms used to fit the new model are discussed, and then examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new AFC model. Finally, the AFC model in conjunction with the VPL software package is used to develop a PR equation for a concrete material.

  • For nuclear concrete structures on the coast, the prevention and management against salt damage is needed because they are being under the influence of the sea water at all times. In general, the deterioration of the concrete is generated in concrete surface firstly and then extended into concrete gradually as its service life increases. Therefore, the protective layer on the concrete surface is needed to establish and manage the durability of concrete. To enhance the durability performance of the existing and new concrete, the development and application of a high-performance penetration sealer is needed. The sealer has to have the functions that are able to prevent the attack of the moisture, carbon dioxide, and harmful substance from the outside. Therefore, the aim of this study is to development of a sealer for the long service-life and waterproof performance of a nuclear concrete structures.

  • The crack of concrete is one of the most important factors to evaluate the safety of the structures. The more important point for the safety-evaluation of the concrete structures is to check the crack development, the conventional window paper (Chang Ho Ji) have been used as a simple method in the past, and nowadays the strain gauge is used for more correct way to check the development of the concrete crack quantitatively. However the window-paper method is too simple and not so scientific, and the strain-gauge method is rather complicated for people in general. This Easy-Check Sensor provides the simple usage for the various concrete structures, but also the more correct results to evaluate the development of the concrete crack.

  • Design and construction of freeform building technologies are being implemented to reduce time and cost due to the development of materials and equipments. However, production of freeform concrete segments takes much more time and manpower than typical due to disposable mold and various shape. Therefore, manufacturing technology of freeform concrete segments need to be developed for securing economic and constructive feasibility. The objective of this study is development of efficient casting technology for freeform concrete segments in a short time. This technology includes details about the fluidity of concrete and the sectional shape of freeform concrete segments. And problem of cost and time can be solved. Also, mold can be reusable and freeform concrete segments will be produced quickly and accurately. After this study, productivity study for validation will continue through prototype development and example application.

  • This paper presents the test results of 24 beam-end specimens to investigate the effect of concrete strength and cover thickness on the development resistance capacity in tensile lap splice length regions. The results showed that as higher strength concrete was employed, nor only development resistance capacity was influenced by cover thickness, but also more sufficient safety factor reserved shorter than the lap splice length provision in current design code. From experimental research results, high-strength concrete development length was not inverse ratio of ($\sqrt{f_{ck}}$) but directly inverse of $f_{ck}$, and it is also said that there is a certain limit length of the embedded steel over which the assumption of uniform bond stress distribution is valid specially for high-strength concrete not having a same embed length such as normal-strength concrete in current design criteria hypothesis.

  • There is a limit manufacturing precast products for the construction industry using conventional cement concrete and precast iron due to many reasons. Therefore, precast product technologies using polymer concrete are widely developed across the world because using polymer concrete can be over come this limitation. This study reviewed and analyzed the trends of development and practical usages of ploymer concrete precast products in foreign countries based on selected literatures. It was observed that polymer concrete precast products have been widely used as utility structures wall and slab members. decoration products, traffic products, hydraulic structures and industry equipments.
