A new model management framework is proposed to accommodate wide-spreading algebraic modeling languages (AMLs), and to facilitate a full range of model manipulation functions. To incorporate different modeling conventions of the leading AMLs (AMPL, GAMS, and SML) homogeneously, generic model concepts are introduced as a conceptual basis and are embodied by the structural and operational constructs of an Object-Oriented Database Management System(ODBMS), enabling the framework to consolidate components of DSSs(database, modelbase, and associated solvers) in a single formalism effectively. Empowered by a database query language, the new model management framework can provide uniform model management commands to models represented in different AMLs, and effectively facilitate integration of the DSS components. A prototype system of the framework has been developed on a commercial ODBMS, ObjectStore, and a C++ programming language.

The objective of this research is to develop a cost model for integrated CAD system. A computerized system realizing this model then is used to aid designers. The first area is to propose a conceptual framework of a multilevel cost model. The methodology of constructing the model is discussed. Then suggestion of an object oriented programming technique for implementing the model is presented. Complicate estimation procedure can be systematically handled by this technique. Interval analysis to deal with the uncertainty of information and decision during design process is used. An experimentation algorithm for calculating the cost distribution is proposed to overcome the shortcoming of interval analysis. Major focus of this research is on net shape manufacturing processes including die casting, injection molding, and metal forming.

Designing sophisticate ship structures that satisfy several design criteria simultaneously with minimum weight and cost is an important engineering issue. For a ship structure composed of a shell and stiffeners, this issue is more serious because their mutual effect has to be addressed. In this study, a two-stage optimization method is proposed for the conceptual design of stiffeners in a ship's prow. In the first stage, a topology optimization method is used to determine a potential stiffener distribution based on the optimal results, whereupon stiffeners are constructed according to stiffener generative theory and the material distribution. In the second stage, size optimization is conducted to optimize the plate and stiffener sections simultaneously based on a parametric model. A final analysis model of the ship-prow structure is presented to assess the validity of this method. The analysis results show that the two-stage optimization method is effective for stiffener conceptual design, which provides a reference for designing actual stiffeners for ship hulls.

In this study, a pseudo ship structure data model for the :.hip cargo hold structure based on STEP is proposed. The proposed data model is based on Application Reference Model of AP218 Ship Structure which is the model that specifies conceptual structures and constraints used to describe the information requirements of an application. And the proposeddata model refers the Ship Common Model framework for the model architecture which is the basis for ongoing ship AP development within the ISO ship-building group and the ship product definition information model of CSDP research project for analyzing the relationship between ship structure model entities. The proposed data model includes Space, Compartment. Ship Structural System, Structural Part and Structural Feature of cargo hold. To generate this data model schema in EXPRESS format, ‘GX-Converter’was used which enables user to edit a model in EXPRESS format and convert schema file in EXPRESS format. Using this model schema, STEP physical file containing design data for ship cargo hold data structure was generated through SDAI programming. The another STEP physical file was also generated containing geometry data of ship cargo hold which was extracted and calculated by SDAI and external surface/surface intersection program. The geometry information of ship cargo hold can be then transferred to commercial CAD system, for example, Pro/Engineer. Examples of the modification of the design information are also Presented.
Cognitive model, that is cognitive architecture, is the model expressed with computer program to show the process how human solve a certain problem and it is continuously under investigation through various fields of study such as cognitive engineering, computer engineering, and cognitive psychology. In addition, the much extensive applicability of cognitive model usually helps it to be used for quantitative prediction of human Behavior or Natural programming of human performance in many HCI areas including User Interface Usability, artificial intelligence, natural programming language and also Robot engineering. Meanwhile, when a system designed, an usability test about conceptual design of interface is needed and in this case, analysis evaluation using cognitive model like GOMS or ACT-R is much more effective than empirical evaluation which naturally needs products and subjects. In particular, if we consider the recent trend of very short-end term between a previous technology development and the next new one, it would take time and much efforts to choose subjects and train them in order to conduct usability test which is repeatedly followed in the process of a system development and this finally would bring delays of development of a new system. In this study, we predicted quantitatively the human behavior processes which contains cognitive processes for menu selection in touch screen interface through ACT-R, one of the common method of usability test. Throughout the study, it was shown that the result using cognitive model was equal with the result using existing empirical evaluation. And it is expected that cognitive model has a possibility not only to be used as an effective methodology for evaluation of HCI products or system but also to contribute the activation of HCI cognitive modeling in Korea.

In this paper, we provide the formal specification of a fuzzy object inference language and propose ICOT(Integrated C-Object Tool) as its implementation for knowledge-based programming with the disjunctive fuzzy information. The novelty of our model is that it seamlessly combines object inference and fuzzy reasoning into a unified framework without compromising a compatibility with extant databases, especially object-relational ones. In this model most of the object-oriented paradigm is successfully expressed in terms of relational constructs, tailoring fuzzy reasoning style to be well suited to the framework of the databases. It turns out to be useful in preserving its conceptual simplicity as well, since simple-to-use is one of important criteria in designing the databases. Additionally this model considerably enhanced the semantic expressiveness of data allowing disjunctive fuzzy information.
This study presents a methods on the construction of integrated system for the purpose of automation of design plans, calculation of quantity of materials and estimation by abstracting information on building materials which is produced on the course of three dimension modeling by using computer. Therefore, an object oriented methodology is introduced to compose design informations in three dimension, space for unifying building informations, and expressing properties of building factors and materials, and to construct a database for computers to recognize architecture informations. An object indicates a conceptual individual existing in real world or existence of individual and necessity in composing a building could be called as objects such as column, wall, beam, slab, door and window and these contain materiality and immateriality. It is systemized to which properties of these building's objects are installed by the user of computer and by API(Application Programming Interface), chosen informations automatically converse to each unit work such as design plan structure plan, calculation of amount of materials, etc.

The Korean nuclear industry is developing a thermal-hydraulic analysis code for safety analysis of pressurized water reactors (PWRs). The new code is called the Safety and Performance Analysis Code for Nuclear Power Plants (SPACE). The SPACE code adopts advanced physical modeling of two-phase flows, mainly two-fluid three-field models which comprise gas, continuous liquid, and droplet fields and has the capability to simulate 3D effects by the use of structured and/or nonstructured meshes. The programming language for the SPACE code is C++ for object-oriented code architecture. The SPACE code will replace outdated vendor supplied codes and will be used for the safety analysis of operating PWRs and the design of advanced reactors. This paper describes the overall features of the SPACE code and shows the code assessment results for several conceptual and separate effect test problems.

This paper evaluates the appropriateness of the proposed robot education curriculum to consider conceptual understanding and learning activities model considering the curriculum and achievement criteria in order to make it easier to apply for a course in robot area. The professors of dept. of computer education at national universities of education reviewed the importance of education contents system and appropriateness of education period. Based on the results of the review, the conceptual elements and achievement standards of each sub-area were revised and supplemented, and then evaluated in three stages. Finally, the educational elements of the concept factors and achievement criteria were agreed upon. The proposed robotic computing education information systems and the achievement standards for schools in the area, as well as to match the grade level of the students without distinction variety of robots will be able to take advantage of computing education activities to reorganize the robot computing courses.
A lot of studies to measure and analyze the system performance have been done in areas such as system modeling, performance measurement, monitoring, and performance prediction since the advent of a computer system. Studies on a framework to unify the performance related areas have rarely been performed although many studies in the various areas have been done, however. In the case of TMO(Time-Triggered Message-Triggered Object), a real-time programming model, it hardly provides tools and frameworks on the performance except a simple run-time monitor. So it is difficult to analyze the performance of the real-time system and the process based on TMO. Thus, in this paper, we propose a framework for the dynamic analysis of the real-time system based on TMO, TDAF(TMO based Dynamic Analysis Framework). TDAF treats all the processes for the performance measurement and analysis, and Provides developers with more reliable information systematically combining a load model, a performance model, and a reporting model. To support this framework, we propose a load model which is extended by applying TMO model to the conventional one, and we provide the load calculation algorithm to compute the load of TMO objects. Additionally, based on TMO model, we propose performance algorithms which implement the conceptual performance metrics, and we present the reporting model and algorithms which can derive the period and deadline for the real-time processes based on the load and performance value. In last, we perform some experiments to validate the reliability of the load calculation algorithm, and provide the experimental result.
