Numerical Prediction of Smoke Concentration in a Compartment Fire by Using the Modified Volumetric Heat Source Model (수정된 체적열원모델을 이용한 실내 화재의 연기농도 예측)

  • The present study investigates the characteristics of fire-driven heat flows and gas concentration in a compartment fire by using the modified VHS model (MVHS). The main idea of this model is to add some source terms for combustion products and oxygen consumption to the original VHS model for providing more accurate and useful information on gas concentration distributions as well as thermal fields. It is found that the present MVHS model shows fairly good agreement with the experimental data and the eddy breakup combustion model. The tilting angle of fire plume calculated by MVHS is larger than that of EBU model because the fire source of VHS is affected by ventilating flow less than EBU. However, this discrepancy is apparently reduced in the downstream region of fire source.

Boron Diffusion of Low Concentration through Poly $Poly{\cdot}Si-SiO_2$ ($Poly{\cdot}Si-SiO_2$를 통한 저농도 붕소확산)

  • Boron diffusion into silicon through poly\ulcorneri-SiO2 was carried out for the diffusion with low concentration using CVD-BN. The result of direct boron diffusion from BN into silicon and that of boron diffusion through SiO2 from BN into silicon was compared with the result of boron diffusion through poly-Si-SiO2 from BN into silicon. In the case of boron diffusion through poly Si-SiO2, the low concentration diffusion was obtained, that is the boron surface concentration in silicon Cs=10**16 Cm**-3, and the glassy compounds were not seen.

  • This study suggests that the application of split screen as visual media can attain the effect of diversity through providing rich information and accepting diverse contents as gorgeous aesthetics. Single images are analyzed as appropriate to a demanded concentration genre such as news and dramas, entertainment. In contrast, images with natural images and ads images those are more appropriate and analyzed as the genre of the split-screen which is highly efficiency to the contents and also highly efficiency to the spatial diversification. In introducing various genres of digital contents into split screen, the synergy of contents is induced by placement in consideration of the characteristics of split screen position. In order to increase the concentration of the split-screen image, using the left area and right area above it, can increase the effectiveness of the content.

  • In this study, we surveyed the influence of IOA (iodoacetamide) and media upon protoplast fusion for the efficient production of the somatic hybrid among S. sisymbriifolium and other Solanum species (S. intergrifolium and S. toxicarium). Regardless of a breed, as the IOA concentration increases, the cell division tends to decrease. As the influence of the media on the colony formation, we could get 5 colonies from the fusion of S. sisymbriifolium and IOA-treated S. integrifolium protoplast, but none was observed in other fusions. As a result of analyzing their IDH isozyme, we found a somatic hybrid in 2 objects.

  • We report on the visible photoluminescence of the Tb/Yb co-doped alumino-germano-silicate fibers for visible fiber laser application. By changing the concentration ratios of $Tb^{3+}$ to $Yb^{3+}$, we optimized the solution doping conditions and obtained the highest emission efficiency at 546nm. The luminescence intensity at 546nm was found to increase with the relative increase of $Tb^{3+}$ ions.

  • This research measures EEG signals which are generating on head skin and extracts brain concentration level related with brain activity. We have developed concentration wireless transmission system by displaying this EEG signal on PDA mobile device. The front head was used for measuring EEG signal and INA128 with TL084 and analog elements was used for measuring EEG signal, amplifying and filtering the signal. Measured analog EEG signals changed into digital signals by using ADC of PIC24FJ192 with 10bit resolution and 500Ks/s sampling rate. So The changed digital signals have transmitted to the PDA by using bluetooth. LabView 8.5 was also used for FFT transformation, frequency and spectrum analysis of the transferred EEG signal. As a result, $\alpha$ wave, $\beta$ wave, $\theta$ wave and $\delta$ wave were classified. we extracted the concentration index by adapting concentration extraction algorithm. This concentration index was transferred into PDA by wireless module and displaying.

A Clinical Study on the Association between Sasangin and Serum Leptin Level (사상인과 혈청 렙틴 농도의 연관성에 관한 임상연구)

  • 1. Objectives: Leptin is ob-gene originated hormone that is concerned with energy metabolism, obesity and asthma which features are supposed to related with Sasangin's 4 viscera physiological theory of Sasang constitutional medicine(SCM). This study aims to investigate whether serum leptin concentration is associated with Sasangin. 2. Methods: Two Way ANOVA analysis was used on the constitution and serum leptin concentration corresponding with BMI among 1054 cases drawn from the Constitutional Information Bank, which was a database with clinically confirmed constitution cases collected from 21 oriental medical institutes in Korea starting from November 2007 to May 2009. The measurement of serum leptin concentration is implemented through radioimmunoassay by request to SCL. 3. Results: Male subjects showed notable difference(p=0.033) in the comparison between constitution and serum leptin concentration corresponding to BMI levels. Tae-eumins showed the highest serum leptin concentration levels in the normal and overweight groups, followed by Soyangin and Soeumin. As the groups changed from overweight to obese, there was an interaction phenomenon in the order of serum leptin concentration levels(p=0.040). As a result, Soeumins showed the highest serum leptin concentration levels and Tae-eumins and Soyangins followed in place. Female subjects did not show statistically notable differences in comparison between constitution and serum leptin concentration corresponding to BMI levels(p=0.239). Serum leptin concentration levels among overweight and obese groups, resulted in the order of Soeumins, Tae-eumins, and Soyangins. But in the as groups changed from overweight to normal the order resulted in Tae-eumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin(p=0.660). 4. Conclusion: Due to a number of limitations in this study, the examination of the relation between constitution and leptin, a main hormone responsible for the digestion, appetite, and energy metabolism, resulted to be uncertain. But statistically notable differences were confirmed in male Tae-eumins with the consideration of BMI. Further examination of the relation between constitution and leptin is necessary through prospective studies with the restriction of confusion variables in the future.

Effect of Ambient Conditions on the Soot Generation of Decane Fuel Droplet (분위기 조건이 Decane 액적의 Soot 생성에 미치는 영향)

  • The main purpose of this study is to provide basic information of droplet soot generation of decane fuel. To achieve this, this paper presents the experimental results on the decane droplet combustion conducted under various ambient pressure($P_{amb}$), and oxygen concentration($O_2$) conditions. At the same time, the experimental study was conducted in terms of soot volume fraction($f_v$) and its maximum value. Also, visualization of single fuel droplet was conducted by high resolution CCD camera and ambient pressure($P_{amb}$) and oxygen concentration($O_2$) was changed by control system. It was revealed that higher ambient pressure($P_{amb}$), and oxygen concentration($O_2$) enhanced the soot generation and improved the maximum soot volume fraction( $f_v$).

Synthesis and characterization of $Y_2O_3$:Eu nano phosphor powder by a new technique

  • In this paper, a new technique has been adopted for synthesis of nanophosphor particles of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ at low temperature. The optical properties of the prepared nanophosphor particles have been measured and the results have been compared with the properties of its bulk phosphor particles. The particle sizes of $Y_2O_3:Eu$ nanophosphor powder with doped-Eu concentration of 10wt% synthesized by our procedure is about 40nm. When the concentration of Eu was 10wt%, intensity of PL appeared the highest and 95% efficient as compared with bulk phosphor.

  • Using a blue emitting DPVBi material and red dopant DCJTB, WOLEDs with and without green emitter C6 added in ETL or HTL have been fabricated. The chromaticity color index of WOLEDs without C6 depends strongly on the doping concentration. In addition, manipulating thickness of emitting layer is similar effect such as controlling weight concentration of dopant. While the white color of WOLEDs with C6 added in ETL or HTL depend on position of C6. WOLED of three colors added green dye have been shown turn-on voltage of 3.25V, and EL efficiency 3.05cd/A @9V, $8102\;cd/m^2$, CIE coordinates (0.30, 0.32).
