The linear dynamic response of a simply supported uniform beam under a moving load of constant magnitude is investigated. When the ratio of the moving weight and the structure weight is small, moving object is considered as a concentrated or distributed moving force, that is large external loading can be considered as a concentrated or distributed moving masses. Result from the numerical solutions of the differential equations of motion are shown graphically. Moreover, when considering the maximum deflection for the mid-span of the hewn, the critical speeds of the moving load have been evaluated.

The characteristics on non linear behavior and the failure mechanism of RC space frame structure serving railway under seismic action have been investigated by numerical analysis in time domain. The structure concerned is modeled in 3 dimensional extent and RC frame elements with fibers are employed. Fibers are characterized as RC one and PL one to distinguish different energy release after cracking. Due to deviation of mass center and stiffness center of entire structure the complex behavior under seismic action is shown. The excessive shear force is concentrated on the pier beside flexible one relatively, which leads to failure of bridge concerned.
The present paper deals with the identification of a concentrated damage in an elastic parabolic arch through the minimization of an objective function which measures the differences between numerical and experimental values of static displacements. The damage consists in a notch that reduces the height of the cross section at a given abscissa and therefore causes a variation in the flexural stiffness of the structure. The analytical values of static displacements due to applied loads are calculated by means of the principle of virtual work for both the undamaged and damaged arch. First, pseudo-experimental data are used to study the inverse problem and investigate whether a unique solution can occur or not. Various damage intensities are considered to assess the reliability of the identification procedure. Then, the identification procedure is applied to an experimental case, where displacements are measured on a prototype arch. The identified values of damage parameters, i.e., location and intensity, are compared to those obtained by means of a dynamic identification technique performed on the same structure.

Recently, as size of building structure becomes larger, mat area of building structure is supported on Inhomogeneous foundation. The equipment machineries in building are mostly on basement story. The slab of the lowest basement story with equipment machineries is considered as plate supported on foundation with concentrated masses. In this paper, vibration analysis of rectangular thin plate is done by use of rectangular finite element with 4 nodes. The solution of this paper are compared with existing solution and natural frequencies of thin plates, with concented mass, on inhomogeneous Pasternak foundation are calculated

TIGBT has some merits which are lower on-state voltage drop and smaller cell pitch, but also has a defect which is relatively lower breakdown voltage in comparison with planar IGBT. This lower breakdown voltage is due to the electric field which is concentrated on beneath the vertical gate. Therefore in this paper, new trench IGBT structure is proposed to improve breakdown voltage In the new proposed structure, a narrow oxide beneath the trench gate edge where the electric field is concentrated is extended into rectangular shape to decrease the electric field. As a result, breakdown voltage is improved to 23%.

An experimental study was carried out for hybrid steel beams with reinforced concrete ends. The purpose is to examine the shear strength and to develop the design methodology of the RC-S connection region. Tested were four beams which included a reference beam and three beams with various parameters. The reference beam was used to make a comparison with remaining specimens. The test parameters were focused mostly on the concentrated shear reinforcements. The ratio of concentrated shear reinforcements and their types were investigated in this study.
Concentrated flux interior permanent magnet (CFIPM) motors have the advantage that their utilization of flux linkage is more efficient than that of general IPM motors and CFIPM motors are suitable for washing machine motors, which demand low-speed, high-torque specifications. However, low efficiency occurs in the low-speed high-torque mode considering the high-speed operation for spin mode. This paper proposes a magnet overhang structure between the rotor core that reduces leakage flux and improves efficiency for a CFIPM in wash mode. Optimization of the 3D design of magnet overhang structures is performed to improve the efficiency with the same quantity of permanent magnets. The validity of the optimal design is experimentally verified through the fabrication of prototypes.
Using a strain-controlled rheometer, the steady shear flow properties of aqueous xanthan gum solutions of different concentrations were measured over a wide range of shear rates. In this article, both the shear rate and concentration dependencies of steady shear flow behavior are reported from the experimentally obtained data. The viscous behavior is quantitatively discussed using a well-known power law type flow equation with a special emphasis on its importance in industrial processing and actual usage. In addition, several inelastic-viscoplastic flow models including a yield stress parameter are employed to make a quantitative evaluation of the steady shear flow behavior, and then the applicability of these models is also examined in detail. Finally, the elastic nature is explained with a brief comment on its practical significance. Main results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows: (1) Concentrated xanthan gum solutions exhibit a finite magnitude of yield stress. This may come from the fact that a large number of hydrogen bonds in the helix structure result in a stable configuration that can show a resistance to flow. (2) Concentrated xanthan gum solutions show a marked non-Newtonian shear-thinning behavior which is well described by a power law flow equation and may be interpreted in terms of the conformational status of the polymer molecules under the influence of shear flow. This rheological feature enhances sensory qualities in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products and guarantees a high degree of mix ability, pumpability, and pourability during their processing and/or actual use. (3) The Herschel-Bulkley, Mizrahi-Berk, and Heinz-Casson models are all applicable and have equivalent ability to describe the steady shear flow behavior of concentrated xanthan gum solutions, whereas both the Bingham and Casson models do not give a good applicability. (4) Concentrated xanthan gum solutions exhibit a quite important elastic flow behavior which acts as a significant factor for many industrial applications such as food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic manufacturing processes.

Finite element method(FEM) is one of the most popularly used method analyzing the dynamic behaviors of structures. But unless number of finite elements is large enough, the results from FEM some what different from exact analytical solutions, especially at high frequency range. On the other hand, as the spectral analysis method(SAM) deals directly with the governing equations of a structure, the results from this melthod cannot but be exact regardless of any frequency range. However, the SAM can be applied only to the case where a structure is subjected to the concentrated loads, despite a structure could be unddergone distributed loads more generally. In this paper, therefore, new spectral analysis algorithm is introduced through the spectral element method(SEM), so that it can be applied to anlystructures whether they are subjected to the concentrated loads or to the distributed loads. The results from this new SEM are compared with both the results from FEM and the exact analytical solutions. As expected, the results from new SEM algorithm are found to be almost identical to the exact analytical solutions while those from FEM are not agreed well with the exact analytical solutions as the mode number increases.

This study is concerned with the relationship between firm's ownership structure and the co-movement of the stock return with the market return. Four different types of firm ownership, including managerial ownership, state ownership, foreign ownership, and concentrated ownership, are among the main features of the company's governance mechanism and have been separately documemented in the previous research to understand their impact on stock price synchronicity. We constructed the regression model, using stock price synchronicity as the dependent variable and the above four components of ownership structure as explanantory variables. The pooled OLS, the fixed effects model, and the random effects are employed to investigate the outcome of the study. Data used in the reserch are of public firms listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) during the five-year period term from 2015 to 2019. The data sample contains 235 companies from 10 industries with 1135 observations. The results revealed by the fixed effects model, the large ownership and the managerial ownership are found to have adverse effect on the stock price synchronicity, whereas the foreign ownership model is revealed to have positive influence on the stock return co-movement. The effect of the state ownership on the stock price synchronicity is not confirmed.
