The fire effectiveness and the operationability of the ground weapon system (such as tank, armored vehicle, howitzer, MLRS, ${\cdots}$), whose operations are usually happened on the ground, are dependent not only on their performances but also on the terrain environments. Especially, the artillery weapons systems' effectiveness is largely varied, because their maneuverability (such as translation, occupation of their sites) and the fire effectiveness are very dependent on the terrain. In this paper, presented are the methods how to analyze the terrain using the digital terrain data. And a software (which are implemented on the IBM PC compatible personal computer) is developed for the analysis of the terrain using the various method of computer Aided Geometric Design and Modeling. The S/W is expected to be very useful for the evaluation of the artillery weapon systems and for the commanders' decision making.

For the reuse of the existing 3D block model of a ship, we analyze the hull modeling process using AVEVA Marine which is a representative CAD (Computer-Aided Design) system for the shipbuilding. In the AVEVA Marine environment where the design engineer makes 3D model on the 2D view that is so-called 2.5D, it cannot be possible to copy to reuse the block model just simply copying the 3D feature model itself like in the general mechanical CAD system or Smart Marine 3D which are on the basis of the 3D model representation. In this paper, we analyze the scheme file where the 3D model is defined in AVEVA Marine so that we develop the program for the block copy and the translation using this scheme file. It is significant that this program can be immediately available as a real-world application on the AVEVA Marine environment.
Objective: Despite reliable evidence of abnormal scapular motions increases, there is not yet sufficient evidence of abnormal humeral translations. This study aims to analyze the motion of the humeral head toward the scapula when the shoulder is actively abducted using the C-arm. Design: A case report. Methods: The participant was a healthy man without any limitation and pain during shoulder movement. The participant's shoulder was abducted; this movement in the frontal plane was measured using a C-arm (anterior-posterior view) and was analyzed with computer-aided design. The starting posture was $15^{\circ}$, and as the participant abducted his shoulder measurements were taken and analyzed at $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$, $150^{\circ}$, and ending at $165^{\circ}$. A line was drawn perpendicularly to the line connecting the humeral head axis to the glenoid, and another line was drawn perpendiculary to the line connecting the scapular axis to the glenoid. The distance between the two lines measured is defined as the e value. Results: At the starting posture ($15^{\circ}$), the central axis of the humeral head was located 1.92 mm inferior to the central axis of the scapula. The humeral head was superiorly translated from the starting posture to $120^{\circ}$, and then, showed an inferior translation to the ending posture ($165^{\circ}$). Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the humeral head moved upward from the starting posture ($15^{\circ}$) up to $120^{\circ}$ indicating, superior translation, and it moved downward when the posture was past $120^{\circ}$, indicating inferior translation.
Traditionally, tooth restoration has been carried out by replicating teeth using plaster-based materials. However, recent technological advances have simplified the production process through the introduction of computer-aided design(CAD) systems. Nevertheless, dental restoration varies among individuals, and the skill level of dental technicians significantly influences the accuracy of the manufacturing process. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an approach to designing personalized tooth restorations using Generative Adversarial Network(GAN), a widely adopted technique in computer vision. The primary objective of this model is to create customized dental prosthesis for each patient by utilizing 3D data of the specific teeth to be treated and their corresponding opposite tooth. To achieve this, the 3D dental data is converted into a depth map format and used as input data for the GAN model. The proposed model leverages the network architecture of Pixel2Style2Pixel, which has demonstrated superior performance compared to existing models for image conversion and dental prosthesis generation. Furthermore, this approach holds promising potential for future advancements in dental and implant production.

The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and the Department of Astronomy at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) are developing a near infrared wide-band high resolution spectrograph, IGRINS (Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrograph). The white-pupil design of the instrument optics uses 7 cryogenic mirrors including 3 aspherical off-axis collimators and 4 flat fold mirrors. Two of the 3 collimators are H- and K-band pupil transfer mirrors and they are designed as compensators for the system alignment in each channel. Therefore, their mount design will be one of the most sensitive parts in the IGRINS optomechanical system. The design work will include the computer-aided 3D modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize the structural stability of the mount models. The mount body will also include a tip-tilt and translation adjustment mechanism to be used as the alignment compensators.

This paper proposes a product data model and associated process for CAE activities in context of integrated product development. The data model and process enable Product Lifecycle Management(PLM) systems to integrate currently separated CAE activities into the main product development process. The product view concept in the proposed product data model supports independent CAE activities including analysis of various alternatives based on shared product structures with design departments and seamless translation of the CAE result to design product views. The proposed model is validated through an implementation of a prototype PLM system that can integrate and synchronize CAE process with the company-wide product development process.

The exchange of CAD (Computer Aided Design) models between different CAD systems and to downstream applications such as manufacturing has become very important to modem industry. One serious current issue is that the process cannot automatically import existing 3-D solid models in a variety of commercial CAD formats into the process without manually re-mastering the model in current standard including "SIEP AP(Application Protocol) 203 Edition 1" To fully integrate technical data from the design agency to the shop floor, design intent and validated 3D geometry of feature based parametric CAD model should be brought into the standardized processes. To overcome this limitation, AP203 Edition 2 (Ed.2) and its related STEP parts such as Part55, Part108, Part109, Part111 and Part112 are starting to be available to handle this problem. The features in Part111 are harmonized with the machining features available in AP224. This paper is focused on two mapping technologies: CAD to Part111 mapping and Pat111 to AP224 mapping including case studios and it will provide the guideline about what should be done next in the AP203 Ed.2 to AP224 mapping. The final goal of this project is to integrate technical data from CAD to AP224 based manufacturing information through AP203 Ed.2.
Three-dimensional (3D) object retrieval from user-drawn sketch queries is one of the important research issues in the areas of pattern recognition and computer graphics for simulation, visualization, and Computer Aided Design. The performance of content-based 3D object retrieval system depends on the availability of effective descriptors and similarity measures for this kind of data. In this paper, we present a sketch-based 3D object retrieval system by extracting a hybrid edge descriptor which is robust against rotation and translation. The experimental results which are based on HTML5 and WebGL show that proposed sketch-based 3D object retrieval method is very efficient to search and order the 3D objects according to user's intention.

Each of those includes the features of 3 axial hard points and 2 radial hard points with one spring plunger in order for the proper deflection of the mirror. Although assembly sequence planning is an essential task in assembly process planning, it is known as one of the most difficult and time consuming jobs because its complexity is increased geometrically when the number of parts in an assembly is increased. The purpose of this study is to develop a more efficient algorithm for generating assembly sequences automatically. By considering subassemblies, a new heuristic method generates a preferred parallel assembly sequence that can be used in robotic assembly systems. A parallel assembly sequence concept provides a new representation scheme for an assembly in which the assembly sequence precedence information is not required. After an user inputs both the directional mating relation information and the mating condition information, an assembly product is divided into subgroups if the product has cut-vertices. Then, a virtual disassembly process is executed to generate alternate parallel assembly sequences with intermediate assembly stability. Through searching parts relations in the virtual disassembly process, stable subassemblies are extracted from translation-free parts along disassembling directions and this extraction continues until no more subassemblies are existed. Also, the arithmetic mean parallelism formula as a preference criterion is adapted to select the best parallel assembly sequence among others. Finally a preferred parallel assembly sequence is converted to an assembly BOM structure. The results from this study can be utilized for developing CAAPP(Computer-Aided Assembly Process Planning) systems as an efficient assembly sequence planning algorithm.
