DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR AN ANALYSIS OF THE LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORTATION COSTS OF THE PWR SPENT FUELS IN KOREA

  • It is expected that a substantial amount of spent fuels will be transported from the four nuclear power plant (NPP) sites in Korea to a hypothetical centralized interim storage facility or a final repository in the near future. The cost for the transportation is proportional to the amount of spent fuels. In this paper, a cost estimation program is developed based on the conceptual design of a transportation system and a logistics analysis. Using the developed computer program, named as CASK, the minimum capacity of a centralized interim storage facility (CISF) and the transportation cost for PWR spent fuels are calculated. The PWR spent fuels are transported from 4 NPP sites to a final repository (FR) via the CISF. Since NPP sites and the CISF are located along the coast, a sea-transportation is considered and a road-transportation is considered between the CISF and the FR. The result shows that the minimum capacity of the interim storage facility is 15,000 MTU.

  • QoS-support technology in networks is based on measuring QoS metrics which reflect a magnitude of stability and performance. The one-way delay measurement of the QoS metrics especially requires a guarantee of clock synchronization between end-to-end hosts. However, the hosts in networks have a relative or absolute difference in clock time by reason of clock offsets. flock skews and clock adjustments. In this paper, we present a theorem, methods and simulation results of one-way delay and clock offset estimations between end-to-end hosts. The proposed theorem is a relationship between one-way delay, one-way delay variation and round-trip time And we show that the estimation error is mathematically smaller than a quarter of round-trip time.

  • An H.264/AVC fast motion estimation methodology is presented in this paper. Advanced SIMD based NEON which is one of the parallel processing methods is supported under the ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core platform. NEON is applied to a full search technique with one of the various motion estimation methods and SAD operation count of each macroblock is reduced to 1/4. Pixel values of the corresponding macroblock are assigned to eight 16-bit NEON registers and Intrinsic function in NEON architecture carried out 128 bits arithmetic operations at the same time. In this way, the exact motion vector with the minimum SAD value among the calculated SAD values can be designated. Experimental results show that performance gets improved 30% above average in accordance with the size of image and macroblock.

  • An Autonomous mobile robot is a very useful system to achieve various tasks in dangerous environment, because it has the higher performance than a fixed base manipulator in terms of its operational workspace size as well as efficiency. A method for estimating the position of an object in the Cartesian coordinate system based upon the geometrical relationship between the image captured by 2-DOF active camera mounted on mobile robot and the real object, is proposed. With this position estimation, a method of determining an optimal path for the autonomous mobile robot from the current position to the position of object estimated by the image information using homogeneous matrices. Finally, the corresponding joint parameters to make the desired displacement are calculated to capture the object through the control of a mobile robot. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated by the simulation and real experiments using the autonomous mobile robot.

  • 인구 밀집도가 높은 곳에서의 안전사고 대응과 이에 대한 예방을 위한 기술 및 해결 방안의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 이를 위한 기존의 기술들은 지능형 CCTV 기반의 경고 알림을 울리는 방식과 스마트폰의 신호를 수집하여 유동인구를 측정하는 기술 등이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 군중 밀집 사고의 원인인 병목현상과 군중 난류 현상까지 대응하지는 못하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 CCTV로부터 수집된 영상 정보만으로 딥러닝 영상인식 기술을 이용하여 병목현상이 일어나기 쉬운 출입구의 유·출입 인구 카운팅과 광장의 밀집도 분석을 디지털 트윈 기반으로 실시하고 이를 통해 위험 상황 발생 시 출입구의 통제와 대피를 위한 안내가 가능한 시스템을 제시한다. 제시하는 시스템은 유동 인구가 많고 인구의 급격한 밀집으로 인해 발생할 수 있는 안전사고의 예방과 이를 해결하기 위한 통제 및 안내를 위한 대처 방법으로 활용할 수 있다.

  • When only partial information is available about equipment failures (installation date and amount, as well as failure and replacement rates), data on sufficiently large number of yearly populations of the components can be combined, and estimation of model parameters may be possible. The parametric models may then be used for forecasting of the system's short term future failure and for formulation of replacement strategies. We employ the Weibull distribution and show how we estimate its parameters from past failure data. Using Monte Carlo simulations, it is possible to assess confidence ranges of the forecasted component performance data.

  • 동영상에서의 움직임 추적은 이전 프레임에서 얻어낸 정보를 이용할 수 있다는 점에서 프레임간의 연결 관계에 기반한 움직임 추적이 가능하다. 그러나 사람의 신체는 고정된 형태를 가지고 있지 않기 때문에 프레임 간의 단순한 연결 관계만으로 사람의 자세를 추정하고 움직임을 추적하는 것은 매우 어려운 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 구성요소에 기반한 인체 모델을 이용하여 이전 프레임에서 찾은 블랍들을 연속된 프레임에서 찾은 블랍들로 연결함으로써, 동영상에서 사람의 자세를 추적하는 방법을 제안한다. 주어진 모델에 따라 이전 블랍은 대응되거나, 여러 블랍으로 나뉘거나, 다른 블랍들과 결합되어 사라지거나, 새로 생성되는 등의 4 가지 경우로 나뉘어 질 수 있는데, 각 경우에 대한 처리 방안을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 인체들과 블랍들의 리스트 처리를 간단하게 할 뿐만 아니라, 추적의 전처리 과정으로 블랍화를 옳게 수행해야 하는 부담을 덜어주어 과도한 블랍화와 부족한 블랍화 등의 문제를 해결할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, the performance of the W-CDMA system with smart antenna is investigated. The realistic wideband channel is assumed, one of which is JTC(Joint Technique Committee) channel model. It is also assumed that multipaths are clustered. The beamforming-RAKE receiver structure of W-CDMA system is proposed, whose performance is analyzed on the assumption of perfect channel estimation. The probability density function (pdf) of SINR(Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio) for different number of antennas and users is presented, and the BER(Bit Error Rate) is presented based on that. As a result, the performance of the W-CDMA system with smart antenna in the realistic wideband channel has been considerably improved.

  • This paper presents the appplication of computer vision for the purpose of determing the position of the unknown point in the plane. The presented contrik method is estimate the six view parameters reqresenting the relationship between the image plane coordinates and the real physical coordinates. The estimation of six parameters is indispensable for transforming the 2-dimensional camera coordinates to the 3-dimensional spatial coordinates. Then, the position of unknown point is estimated based on the estimated parameters depending on the cameras. The suitability of this control scheme is demonstrated experimentally by determining of position the unknown point in the plane.

  • 영상 압축은 멀티미디어 전송에 있어 핵심적인 기술이다. 동영상 압축 기술 중 움직임 예측부는 전체 동영상 압축 부호화에서 가장 복잡한 부분으로, 멀티미디어의 실시간 전송을 위하여 고속 알고리듬이 필요한 부분이다. 본 논문은 기존의 고속 움직임 예측 알고리듬의 하나인 이진 블록 정합 움직임 예측 알고리듬을 개선하여 더욱 빠른 속도의 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 웨이블릿 변환 후 고주파 대역의 정보값을 조기 움직임 예측 중지 조건으로 사용하여 기존의 알고리듬을 개선한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 기존의 알고리듬의 속도를 개선하는 동시에 화질을 유지시킨다.
