신선 멜론의 수출포장개발에 관한 연구 (Study on Development of Export Packaging for Fresh Melon)

  • 미국과의 FTA 체결이 가시화되면서 우리 농산물에 대한 경쟁력과 농가의 소득증대를 위해 멜론수출사업이 시작되는 단계에서 장거리 운송에 상품성을 유지할 수 있는 수출 포장기술의 개발과 포장표준화에 의한 물류비 절감이 필요하다. 본 연구는 수출포장의 1단계라고 할 수 있는 적정포장 설계 부분, 즉 포장강도 및 치수규격 그리고 포장원가 관리 부분에 목적이 있다. 수출대상국인 미국과 일본의 국가표준 파렛트는 각각 T12형($1,200{\times}1,000$ mm)과 T11형($1,100{\times}1,100$ mm)이다. 기존 멜론상자 치수는 $366{\times}275{\times}160$ mm으로 T11형에는 정합하지만, T12형에는 효율성이 떨어지므로 포장모듈치수에 의거하여 멜론상자를 재설계하여, $366{\times}275{\times}165$ mm와 $333{\times}300{\times}200$ mm의 두 가지 규격으로 개선 멜론상자를 설계하였다. $366{\times}275{\times}165$ mm로 개선된 상자는 T11형 파렛트에 적재효율 92.7%, 공간효율 99.8%를 나타내며 일본수출용 멜론상자로 사용할 수 있었고, $333{\times}300{\times}200$ mm로 개선된 상자는 T12형 파렛트에 적재효율 91.7%, 공간효율 95.9%를 나타내며 미국수출용 멜론상자로 사용할 수 있었다. 기존 멜론상자의 포장재질은 SC240/B150/K180/B150/WK180이며, 압축강도 는 559 kgf, 관리강도는 475 kgf이었지만, 개선 멜론상자의 포장재질은 SC240/K180/K180/K180/WK180로써, 압축강도는 597 kgf, 관리강도는 5.7 kgf으로 증가하도록 강도를 높였다. 멜론상자의 1개당 단가는 기존 438원이었으나, 실제로 1,000에 거래하여 개선하도록 요구하였다. $366{\times}275{\times}165$ mm와 $333{\times}300{\times}200$ mm의 치수규격의 개선 멜론상자의 1개당 단가는 각각 484원과 470원으로 나타났다. 기존 포장재의 진동시험 결과 기존 멜론상자는 멜론의 상품화가 되지 않을 정도의 멜론 파손정도가 심했지만, 개선 멜론 상자는 처음 포장형태 그대로 멜론의 상태가 유지되어 상품화에 문제가 없었다.

축응력 및 횡보강근을 고려한 콘크리트의 전단마찰내력 평가모델 (Shear Friction Strength Model of Concrete considering Transverse Reinforcement and Axial Stresses)

  • 이 연구는 다양한 콘크리트에 대해 전단마찰 거동에 의해 지배되는 부재에서 전단전달 기구를 설명하고 합리적인 전단마찰내력을 평가하기 위한 모델을 제안하였다. 제안된 모델의 기본식은 횡보강근과 작용 축응력을 고려하여 소성론의 상계치 이론(Upper-bound theorem)에 기반하여 유도하였다. 콘크리트는 수정 Coulomb 파괴 기준에 의해 완전한 소성 강체로 고려하였다. 콘크리트 유효강도에서 콘크리트 종류와 최대 골재 크기에 따른 영향을 적용하기 위해 Yang et al.의 압축 응력-변형률 모델과 CEB-FIP의 인장 응력-변형률 모델을 적용하였다. 이 응력-변형률 모델들을 이용한 완전 소성모델로의 변환을 통하여 유효압축강도계수, 유효강도비 그리고 콘크리트 마찰각을 간단한 식으로 일반화 하였다. 제시된 전단마찰내력 모델은 기존 연구에서 제시된 모델과 함께 91개의 직접전단 실험결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과로 이 연구에서 제시된 모델은 콘크리트 종류, 횡보강근 양 그리고 작용 축응력을 고려하여 전단마찰내력을 평가할 수 있었으며, 예측값에 대한 실험값의 비의 평균과 표준편차가 각각 0.95, 0.15로서 기존 식들에 비해 더 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

고로 수쇄슬래그의 경화가 액상화 강도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hardening of Granulated Blast Furnace Slag on the Liquefaction Strength)

  • 본 연구는 액상화에 대한 고로 수쇄슬래그의 잠재수경성의 영향을 명확히 조사하기 위해 고로 수쇄슬래그를 고온알칼리 수(수산화칼슘 첨가, pH=12, 수온 약 $80^{\circ}C$)로 양생한 후에 반복 및 정적 삼축압축시험을 실시하였다. 삼축시험을 통해 얻어진 결과는 일본의 표준사인 Toyoura sand와 천연사인 Genkai sand의 결과와 비교하였다. 시험결과 고로수쇄슬래그의 액상화 강도는 양생기간의 증가와 더불어 잠재수경성에 의한 경화에 의해 증가함을 알았다. 또한, 담수조건에서 189일간 양생한 상대밀도 50%및 80%의 고로 수쇄슬래그에서 잠재수경성의 발현에 의해 점착력이 나타난다. 더욱이 경화과정에 있어서 고로 수쇄슬래그의 액상화 강도는 반복전단횟수 n=20회에서의 반복응력비 $R_{20}$과 점착력 $C_{d}$사이에 선형 관계가 관찰되었다. 또한, 고온 알칼리 수로 양생된 고로 수쇄슬래그에 대한 액상화 강도는 점착력이나 일축압축강도에 의해 예측이 가능함을 알았다.

광물질혼화재를 적용한 콘크리트의 스케일링 저항성 평가 (Scaling Resistance of Cement Concrete Incorporating Mineral Admixtures)

  • PURPOSES: The scaling of a concrete surface caused by the combined effects of frost and de-icing salts is one of the main reasons for the need to repair transportation infrastructures in cold-climate regions. This study describes the results of attempts to determine the scaling resistance of concrete incorporating mineral admixtures such as fly ash, GGBFS, and silica fume, and subjected to the actions of frost and salt. METHODS : Conventionally, to evaluate the fundamental properties of concrete, flexural and compressive strength measurements are regularly performed. Based on the ASTM C 672 standard, concrete is subjected to 2%, 4%, and 8% $CaCl_2$ salt solutions along with repeated sets of 50 freeze/thaw cycles, and the scaling resistance was evaluated based on the mass of the scale and a visual examination. RESULTS : It was observed that silica fume is very effective in enhancing the scaling resistance of concrete. Meanwhile, concrete incorporating GGBFS exhibited poor resistance to scaling, especially in the first ten freeze/thaw cycles. However, fly ash concrete generally exhibited the maximum amount of damage as a result of the frost-salt attack, regardless of the concentrations of the solutions. CONCLUSIONS: It can be concluded that the scaling resistance of concrete is highly dependent on the type of the mineral admixture used in the concrete. Therefore, to provide a durable concrete pavement for use in cold-climate regions, the selection of a suitable binder is essential.

특수용도 충전재로서 기포콘크리트의 활용성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Application of Aerated Concrete as a Filling Material for Special Use)

  • In this study, we processed two procedures of application test of filler for special-purpose utility that are new application methods of aerated concrete and properties test of aerated concrete according to mixing ratio because we investigated the better use of aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety and we proposed basic data about standardization of mixing of aerated concrete. We measured flow and volume change of aerated concrete. And if its volume doesn't change, we added measuring unit weight and compressive strength. To test application of aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety, we filled up aerated concrete to fireproof safety according to suitable mixing ratio. Then we measured maximum temperature of inner part of fireproof safety in accordance with the standard test of fireproof. According to the results, aerated concrete as filler for fireproof safety could be possibly used. So when we make aerated concrete, we should consider using an adding agent as well as a foaming agent.

Nonlinear finite element based parametric and stochastic analysis of prestressed concrete haunched beams

  • The mechanical behavior of prestressed concrete haunched beams (PSHBs) was investigated in depth using a finite element modeling technique in this study. The efficiency of finite element modeling was investigated in the first stage by taking into account a previous study from the literature. The first stage's findings suggested that finite element modeling might be preferable for modeling PSHBs. In the second stage of the research, a comprehensive parametric study was carried out to determine the effect of each parameter on PSHB load capacity, including haunch angle, prestress level, compressive strength, tensile reinforcement ratio, and shear span to depth ratio. PSHBs and prestressed concrete rectangular beams (PSRBs) were also compared in terms of capacity. Stochastic analysis was used in the third stage to define the uncertainty in PSHB capacity by taking into account uncertainty in geometric and material parameters. Standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and the most appropriate probability density function (PDF) were proposed as a result of the analysis to define the randomness of capacity of PSHBs. In the study's final section, a new equation was proposed for using symbolic regression to predict the load capacity of PSHBs and PSRBs. The equation's statistical results show that it can be used to calculate the capacity of PSHBs and PSRBs.

Experimental and numerical analysis of the punching behavior of RC isolated footings

  • In the current study, punching behavior of Reinforced concrete (RC) isolated footings was experimentally and numerically investigated. The experimental program consisted of four half-scale RC isolated footing specimens. The test matrix was proposed to show effect of footing area, reinforcement mesh ratio, adding internal longitudinal reinforcement bars and stirrups on the punching response of RC isolated footings. Footings area varied from 1200×1200 mm2 to 1500×1500 mm2 while the mesh reinforcement ratio was in the range from 0.36 to 0.45%. On the other hand, a 3D non-linear finite element model was constructed using ABAQUS/standard program and verified against the experimental program. The numerical results agreed well with the experimental records. The validated numerical model was used to study effect of concrete compressive strength; longitudinal reinforcement bars ratio and stirrups concentration along one or two directions on the ultimate load, deflection, stiffness and failure patterns of RC isolated footings. Results concluded that adding longitudinal reinforcement bars did not significantly affect the punching response of RC isolated footings even high steel ratios were used. On the contrary, as the stirrups ratio increased, the ultimate load of RC isolated footings increased. Footing with stirrups ratio of 1.5% had ultimate load equal to 1331 kN, 19.6% higher than the bare footing. Moreover, adding stirrups along two directions with lower ratio (0.5 and 0.7%) significantly enhanced the ultimate load of RC isolated footings compared to their counterparts with higher stirrups ratio (1.0 and 1.5%).

Assessment of recycled concrete aggregates as a pavement material

  • Population increase and economic developments can lead to construction as well as demolition of infrastructures such as buildings, bridges, roads, etc resulting in used concrete as a primary waste product. Recycling of waste concrete to obtain the recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for base and/or sub-base materials in road construction is a foremost application to be promoted to gain economical and sustainability benefits. As the mortar, bricks, glass and reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) present as constituents in RCA, it exhibits inconsistent properties and performance. In this study, six different types of RCA samples were subjected classification tests such as particle size distribution, plasticity, compaction test, unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and California bearing ratio (CBR) tests. Results were compared with those of the standard road materials used in Queensland, Australia. It was found that material type 'RM1-100/RM3-0' and 'RM1-80/RM3-20' samples are in the margin of the minimum required specifications of base materials used for high volume unbound granular roads while others are lower than that the minimum requirement.

폴리머 물질 첨가를 통한 중금속 오염 광미의 고형화 처리 (Addition of Polymeric Materials to Binders for Solidification of Heavy Metal Contaminated Mine Tailings)

  • Polymeric materials in addition to Portland cement and hydrated limes were used to solidify heavy metal contaminated tailings from five abandoned metal mines in Korea. Mine tailings were mixed separately with Portland cement and hydrated lime at a concentration of 20-30 wt% and 6-9 wt%, respectively and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA) powder was added to each specimen at a ratio of 2.5 and 5.0 wt% to binders. Polymer-added and polymer-free solidified forms were evaluated for their appropriateness in accordance with the suggested test methods. Regardless of addition of polymeric materials, all solidified forms satisfy the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS) requirements(0.35MPa) for land reclamation and show remarkably reduced leaching concentrations of heavy metals such as As, Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn less than the toxicity criteria of Korean standard leaching test(KSLT). The addition of polymeric materials increased the UCS of solidified forms to improve a long-term stability of solidified mine tailings.

  • This study investigates the physical properties of the acrylic emulsion mortar according to variable composition set of redispersible emulsion powders. This materials have to be composed of many types of binders and chemical additives. So it is difficult to decide suitable mixing proportion of composition materials. The redispersible emulsion powders using "2, 4, 6, 8kg" of EVA polymers dispersion ranges are prepared with acrylic emulsion mortars and were tested for basic characteristics such as flexural, and compressive strength, wheel load. Through experiments we found that the improved formula to satisfy the standard of wheel load by EVA polymers, and the masration rangs between about 2.0% to 2.6% which the white portland cenmet and EVA polymers is good for resistauce wheel load.
