압축공기의 흡입과 분사를 위한 멀티 에어건의 설계 개발 (A Design and Development of Multi Air gun for suction and shooting a jet of compressed air)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 작업장에서 사용하기 위한 에어건의 개발에 관련된 것이다. 에어건은 공작기계를 사용하는 산업현장에서 공작물 칩과 절삭유의 제거를 위한 도구이다. 그리고 그것은 일반적으로 압축공기를 분사하는 용도로 사용된다. 작업자는 에어의 흡입과 분사를 위해 각각의 에어건을 준비하여야 한다. 따라서 우리는 새로운 에어건을 개발하였다. 이 논문에서 우리는 에어건의 설계와 분석을 위한 연구를 한다. 에어건은 몸체, 파이프, 개폐 유닛, 전환 유닛, 에어 튜브 그리고 조립을 위한 요소들로 구성된다. 개발된 에어건은 그 효율을 확인하기 위해 실험된다.

An optimum design study of interlacing nozzle by using Computational Fluid Dynamics

  • Air interlacing serves to protect the yarn against damage, strengthens inter-filament compactness or cohesion, and ensures fabric consistency. The air interlacing nozzle is used to introduce intermittent nips to a filament yarn so as to improve its performance in textile processing. The effect of various interlacing nozzle geometries on the interlacing process was studied. The geometries of interlacing nozzles with single or multiple air inlets located across the width of yarn channels are investigated. The basis case is the yarn channel, with a perpendicular main air inlet in the middle. Other cases have main air inlets, slightly inclined double sub air inlets, The yarn channel cross sectional shapes are either semicircular or rectangular shapes. The compressed impinging jet from the main air inlet hole hits the opposing bottom wall of the yarn channel, is divided into two branches, joins with the compressed air coming out from sub air inlet at the bottom and creates two free jets at both ends of the yarn channel. The compressed air movement in the cross-section consists of two opposing directional vortices. The CFD-FASTRAN flow parallel solver was used to perform steady simulations of impinging jet flow inside of the interlace nozzles. The vortical structure and the flow pattern such as pressure contour, particle traces, velocity vector plots inside of interlace nozzle geometry are discussed in this pater.

  • Most water cannon machines use compressed gas to accelerate a piston which extrudes water through a cumulation nozzle. Very high jet stagnation-pressures can be achieved by using a specially-shaped nozzle which is initially filled with air or vacuum. The objective of this study was to establish the basic technology of water cannon using exponential type nozzle. An experimental water cannon including high pressure components such as exponential nozzle and 300atm air resrvior were designed and tested. Parameters that influence the performance of the system and jet characteristics were examined.

  • The air-jet loom represents a major step in the development of shutterless weaving due to its ability to weave a wide range of yarns at high speeds. The air-jet weaving involves inserting a pre-measured length of yarn through the wraps, which is shed by means of compressed air. The analysis of air flow characteristic of the main nozzle and acceleration tube is required for improving the loom performance. In this paper, we examined the effects of the main nozzle with different acceleration tubes as well as diameters. Also, we compared the performance of a straight-type tube with a Laval-type tube and the effect of installing a suction hole on the acceleration tube.

공기분사에 의한 양송이 버섯 세척기 개발 (Development of Air-jet Washer for the Agaricus Bisporus)

  • This study was conducted to develop an agaricus bisporus washing machine which uses compressed air to remove foreign materials attached on the surface of agaricus bisporus. A prototype of the washing machine was constructed, and performance of removing foreign materials was tested. Research results are as follows: 1. Several transferring methods including PE roller rotation, brush roller rotation, PE screw rotation, vibration plate, and belt conveyor were evaluated. Roller, screw, and vibration methods caused damages on the surface of the products, but belt conveyor method caused the least damages. 2. For air jet, a stationary nozzle type and a rotational type were evaluated. The best air jet nozzle was the jet-type nozzle, and the rotational type was more effective than stationary type nozzle. 3. With the conveyer belt, box type moving method and the rotational air jet nozzle, the washing machine showed the best performance when higher than 5.4${\times}$105 Pa of air jet pressure and lower than 0.047 m/s of moving speed was used. Working performance of the system was 650 kg/h, and the damaging rate was 1.2 %.

Micro-AAJ를 이용한 엔진 피스톤 링의 마찰 저감 표면 개발 (Development of Engine Piston Ring Surface for Friction Reduction using Micro Abrasive Air Jet)

  • In this paper, we report a new manufacturing method for friction reduction using micro-AAJ (abrasive air-jet) machining. AAJ machining employs compressed air to accelerate a jet of high-speed particles to mechanically machine features, including micro-channels and micro-holes, into glass, metal, or polymer substrates for use in microfluidics, MEMS (micro electromechanical systems). And we introduce the micro-AAJ machining system, which consists of a micro-AAJ nozzle and a five-axis positioning system. Various micro-AAJ nozzles can be used, depending on the required surface structure, and three-dimensional machining is possible. We machined samples under six different conditions and describe machining results obtained while using it. We also measured the coefficient of friction of micro-textured surfaces. We report the coefficient of friction of micro-textured surfaces patterned using micro-AAJ machining for engine piston ring.

압축공기 발사기에 단선 와이어 유도방식을 적용한 1/60축척 터널주행 열차모형 시험기 개발에 대한 연구 (Development of 1/60th Scale Moving Model Rig Using the Compressed Air Launcher and One-Wire Guidance System of Train Model)

  • The test facility of a 1/60-scale model for train-tunnel systems has been recently developed to investigate the effects of tunnel portal shapes, hood shapes and air-shafts for reducing the micro-pressure waves radiating towards the surroundings from the tunnel exit. The present test rig has been advanced from a 1/70-scale facility at NLR in Netherlands. The NLR test rig has the two-wise guidance system that needs two ears attached on the external surface of a model train nose. Therefore, their train models have irregular nose shapes. The main characteristics of the present facility are that the train model is guided by only one wire from the compressed air launcher to the absorber parts of test facility and the wire guidance hole is located at the axial center of a train model. In the present test rig, after a train model is launched, the air jet from the launcher does not enter the tunnel model. Experimental results were compared with numerical predictions to prove the performance of the test facility.

가스터빈 기화기의 분무 가시화 연구 (Spray Visualization of the Gas Turbine Vaporizer)

  • Spray visualization of a vaporizer fuel injection system of a micro turbo jet engine was experimentally studied. The fuel heating by combustion was simulated by the high pressure steam generator and combustor inlet air from the centrifugal compressor was simulated by compressed air stored in the high pressure air tank. Spray visualization was performed with single vaporizer, and then six vaporizers which are same number of micro turbojet engine were used. As a results, the spray characteristics of the vaporizer were understood with pressure difference of the combustor inlet air and the fuel supply pressure. Spray angles with three types of vaporizer configuration were measured. In the results, guide vane configuration has a wider spray angle than the straight tube and smooth curve tube with a swirler, so it is expected that the fuel will be effectively distributed inside the combustor flame tube.

압축공기 분사시스템을 이용한 유류오염 해안의 효율적 정화 및 이에 따른 미생물군집분석 (Efficient Clean-up of Oil Spilled Shorelines Using the Compressed Air Jet System and Concomitant Microbial Community Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목표는 압축공기분사시스템을 이용하여 원유로 유출이 된 해안을 정화함에 있어서 그 정화효율성과 정화 전후의 총석유탄화수소(total petroleum hydrocarbon; TPH) 농도 및 미생물군집변화를 관찰함으로써 그 최적 정화과정을 이해하기 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 하는 것이다. 압축공기제트시스템을 2-5회 연속적용 시 오염지의 TPH가 약 66%까지 저감이 된 반면에 대조구인 해수를 펌핑한 경우에는 40% 정도의 저감효과가 관찰이 되었다. 압축공기의 분사 후 PCR-DGGE에 의한 미생물군집분석 결과에서는 유류분해미생물의 군집은 확인이 되지 않았다. 이는 정화에 의한 낮은 TPH 농도(약 100 mg/kg 수준, 탄소원), 처리환경에 내재적인 제한적인 질소 및 인의 농도에 기이한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 잔여분의 유류는 에어제트시스템을 적용시 제한적 영양염류(질소 및 인 등)를 적절한 방식과 농도로 투여할 경우 거의 완전하게 제거가 가능할 것으로 사료된다. 향후 본 기술은 고농도의 유류 및 유기물로 오염된 다양한 수질환경 및 토양환경의 효율적이고 환경친화적인 정화에 활용이 될 것으로 기대된다.
