  • Recently the interests in NII, CALS/EC, and security are rapidly increasing. However, only one of the security issues for CALS implementation, i.e., the security for EDI implementation, has been presented in the literature. No comprehensive discussion about CALS security including other CALS applications exists. This paper intends to present such a comprehensive analysis for the security requirements and standards for the well-recognized two-phase CALS implementation. We present a framework for CALS security encompassing security protocols and systems that are arranged into the framework in terms of the CALS implementation phases, application systems, and communication modes. This framework is followed by brief descriptions of the security services and mechanisms for each CALS application.

  • A comprehensive real-time spectral phase interferometry for direct electric field reconstruction (SPIDER) apparatus for characterizing femtosecond laser pulses is demonstrated. The SPIDER provides the temporal profiles of femtosecond laser pulses, reconstructed at the speed of 3.5 Hz, with parameters of the spectral phase such as group delay dispersion and third-order dispersion. The apparatus is applied successfully to optimize the spectral dispersion of a kHz femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser by adjusting a grating compressor in real time.

  • As the service industry continues to grow in importance, a new research field called service science has formed so as to conduct more comprehensive and scientific analysis of service. However, much further research is required until we can develop the common terminology and methodology for service design and improvement. A foundational step toward this is giving a lucid definition to service which reflects the intrinsic qualities of it. Many of the service definitions mentioned in existing studies had the limitation that they considered service as the residual from physical products, or tried to conceptualize service based on some characteristics. In this paper we compare and analyze existing studies, discuss about the essential nature of services, and suggest a more comprehensive investigation into service.

  • The comprehensive aortic root and valve reconstruction (CARVAR) technique comprises two main procedures, which are aortic root reduction using prosthetic rings and neo-leaflet reconstruction using a pericardial patch. Although concerns about durability of the pericardial neo-leaflet have been raised in the CARVAR technique, complications related to leaflet reconstruction have not been reported to date. The present report describes two cases of complications associated with leaflet reconstruction. After resecting the reconstructed leaflets, aortic valve replacement was performed in the patients. Careful and close follow-up is required for patients who had undergone CARVAR surgery, and aortic valve surgery should be performed in a timely manner if needed.

  • Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagions disease of cloven-hoofed animals and occurs in many non-European countries, in particular in huge parts of Asia including Turkey, in most countries of Africa and in parts of South America. The extreme contagiousness of the disease requires comprehensive to control an outbreak, causing high economic losses. The outbreak of FMD, which affects livestock including cattle, swine, sheep, goats, deer and other animals as a highly communicable disease that affects. The agency issued a statement noting that FMD disease does not spread to humans. The disease and meat from infected animals are news reports that more than 3.400.000 livestock have been ordered slaughtered so far across the country.

  • In recent year, the coat layer drops and the rebar rust of bridge parapets, which caused the structural performance degradation. In order to achieve the comprehensive rehabilitation, ultra high performance cementitious composites is proposed to existing RC parapet rehabilitation. The influence factors of UHPCC rehabilitation includes two parts, i.e., internal factors related with material, such as UHPCC layer thickness, corrosion ratio of rebars, fiber volume fraction, and external factors related with the load, such as impact speeds, impact angles, vehicle mass. The influence of the factors was analyzed in this paper based on the nonlinear finite element. The analysis results of the maximum dynamic deformation and the peak impact load of parapets revealed the influence of the internal factors and the external factors on anti-collision performance and degree degradation. This research may provide a reference for the comprehensive multifunctional rehabilitation of existing bridge parapets.

  • To increase the synergies of rural experience tourism and overcome the limitations rural tourism are study. A basic cooperative model and theme model have been set up and comprehensive cooperative tourism model has been offered. In order to the development of model example, experience resources has been investigated and problems and features for 7 rural experience tourism villages of Cheongwon have been identified. The basic cooperative model has been selected main line and part hub type. The theme model has been separated nature experience, history and character experience, traditional culture and theme experience, agriculture and rural area experience. Based on this, The thematic cooperative tourism model and the comprehensive cooperative tourism model, its a schedule have been exemplified.

  • Participants in Open Source Software (OSS) development projects usually contribute voluntarily without expecting direct compensation for their work. One of the central puzzles raised by the success of OSS is the motivation of the participants; why top-notch programmers choose to write software that is released for no fee. In order to respond to this peculiarity employing a meta-research method, we first identify and review theoretical perspectives from diverse disciplines including economics, sociology, political science, anthropology, psychology, and management. Then, we suggest a comprehensive framework that provides a holistic understanding of the puzzle in question. Reviewing key empirical studies based on the suggested framework, we also suggest a future research agenda.

  • This study aims to identify predictors of driving cessation among Korean elderly. Data from 2011 Elderly Survey conducted by Ministry of Health and Welfare and Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs were used for the analysis. Based on Webber, Porter, Menec(2010)'s comprehensive theoretical framework for mobility, the model of this study tests five major determinants of driving cessation including financial, psychosocial, environmental, physical and cognitive factors. Results of logistic regression analysis showed that economic status, marital status, contacts with relatives and friends, residential location, taking medication, muscle strength, age, gender, and job were significant predictors of driving cessation of older drivers. Specifically, lower economic status, unmarried status, less contacts with relatives and friends, living in the city, taking medication, weaker muscle strength, older age, female, non-working status were significant risk factors for driving cessation. Practical implications in light of study findings were discussed.

  • The importance of Information technology (IT) has been growing. Thus, it is critical for firms to choose the optimal information technology development mode in order to ensure that maximum benefit is derived from IT. Despite its importance, however, there is little comprehensive research on choosing the IT development mode that firms undertake. To fill this gap, this study attempts to propose a parsimonious as well as comprehensive IT development framework based on strategic value and the uniqueness of IT resources. In addition, this study analyzes the impact of the fit between the theoretically proposed IT development mode and the actually used mode on the performance of Korean firms. This study contributes to and expands the literature on IT development modes by considering various development modes in real time. Moreover, the results serve as a stepping stone for managers who want to develop or adopt IT effectively.
